Chapter 188: Supreme One-Star Alchemist!
After carefully examining the pills, the elders and Pavilion Master Chu quickly discovered something astonishing. Out of the thirty six pills refined by Li Yun, nearly half of them possessed pill veins.
The moment they realized this, shock spread across the faces of everyone present.
Although none of the elders had personally refined pills capable of producing pill veins, their knowledge of alchemy was extensive. They understood very clearly how rare such pills were. Even when a three star or higher level alchemist refined a batch of pills, it was already considered impressive if three or four of them developed pill veins.
Yet what lay before them completely shattered their understanding of what was possible in alchemy.
Eighteen pills with pill veins had appeared within a single batch.
None of them had ever heard of such a thing before. The result overturned everything they believed about the limits of pill refinement.
For a long moment the elders could not even find words to express their thoughts. They simply stared at the pills in stunned silence.
Only Pavilion Master Chu seemed calm, although his expression suggested that he was deeply pondering something.
“So I passed the One Star Alchemy Assessment?” Li Yun asked after noticing that the elders had begun discussing the pills among themselves.
“You passed, boy,” Pavilion Master Chu replied with a smile. “In the three hundred years that I have lived, I have never seen a talent like yours.”
He paused briefly before continuing.
“If it were not for the limits of my own experience, I would have taken you as my personal disciple. Unfortunately, I do not believe I am worthy enough to guide you on the path of alchemy.”
The moment those words were spoken, the surrounding elders were completely stunned.
Pavilion Master Chu was one of the most respected four star alchemists in the entire Southern Martial Domain. Only a handful of alchemists could match his accomplishments in the field of alchemy.
For such a figure to openly admit that he was not qualified to teach someone left the elders utterly shocked.
Pavilion Master Chu looked at Li Yun and continued speaking in a calm but serious tone.
“Li Yun, from this moment onward you can be considered a Supreme One Star Alchemist. The title of Supreme Alchemist is only granted to those who are capable of refining perfect grade pills consistently. Since you have produced pills that even possess pill veins, you are undoubtedly qualified to hold this title.”
He paused briefly before continuing his explanation.
“This title also comes with many privileges within the Alchemy Pavilion. Whenever you purchase items here, you will receive a seventy percent discount when paying with contribution points. Any pills you refine and hand over to the Alchemy Pavilion will be purchased directly with spirit stones or exchanged for resources of your choice. Ordinary alchemists who do not possess the Supreme title can only receive contribution points in exchange for the pills they provide.”
Chu Tian then concluded with a final statement that immediately captured the attention of everyone present.
“Finally, since you are both a disciple of the Martial Ascension Gate and a Supreme One Star Alchemist of the Alchemy Pavilion, your position and the privileges you can enjoy within the Pavilion will stand just below mine.”
The elders present in the assessment hall all nodded after hearing Pavilion Master Chu’s words. They were all very familiar with the rules and structure of the Alchemy Pavilion, and they knew that Chu Tian was simply stating the established regulations.
The value of a Supreme Alchemist was extraordinary. Within the sect, such a title was considered as precious as a disciple with a ten star cultivation aptitude, and in some cases it could even be more valuable.
Because of this immense worth, the Alchemy Pavilion granted exceptional privileges and authority to those who achieved this rank.
Li Yun was genuinely surprised when he heard about the privileges that came with the title of Supreme One Star Alchemist. He had never expected things to turn out this way.
Originally his intention had been simple. He only wanted to impress the elders and the Pavilion Master of the Alchemy Pavilion so that they would recognize his value.
However the result had far exceeded his expectations.
This is even better than I imagined, Li Yun thought to himself.
With such a high status inside the Alchemy Pavilion, Li Yun immediately understood what it meant for his future. No one within the sect would dare to act against him easily, and that protection would naturally extend to the people around him as well.
If he openly declared that Fu Ting, Zhu Ximen, and the others were his friends, then very few people in the Martial Ascension Gate would dare to harm them.
Li Yun could not help but sigh quietly.
The power that came with a high status was always far more useful than simple strength alone.
“In a few days your identity as a Supreme One Star Alchemist will be officially announced,” Pavilion Master Chu said with a warm smile.
“Thank you, Pavilion Master Chu,” Li Yun replied respectfully.
After the alchemy assessment ended, several elders requested that Li Yun refine a few more batches of Body Tempering Pills so they could observe his techniques more closely. Li Yun agreed without hesitation and refined ten additional batches of pills for them.
During this time he also made a promise. As long as he remained within the Martial Ascension Gate, he would continue supplying the Alchemy Pavilion with the pills he refined.
Upon hearing this, the elders were extremely satisfied. Only after receiving that assurance did they finally allow Li Yun to leave.
“Li Yun, I invited you here because there is something I wish to ask you,” Pavilion Master Chu said as he looked at him calmly.
“Please ask whatever is on your mind, Pavilion Master,” Li Yun replied in a relaxed tone.
Pavilion Master Chu nodded slightly before speaking again.
“If I am not mistaken, the flame control technique you used during the refinement should be the Double Dragon Flame Controlling Art, correct?”
Li Yun was immediately shocked when he heard this. He had never expected Pavilion Master Chu to recognize his flame control technique so easily.
After a brief moment of surprise, he asked curiously, “Does Pavilion Master Chu know Elder Lin?”
