Isekai Journey Of The Magic Archer - Chapter 1260 - 1260: Conclusion of the weekend

The fact that the Tower of Cessation has more unknown gods than I know was something I could still accept.
The divinities were numerous and in a tower that had various elements related to the ‘divinity’ throughout the higher floors, their presence was appreciated anywhere they went.
But then again, there are factions that these higher beings belong to and characteristics that they innately possess… or used to possess when we played the Tower of Beginning.
There are three things that made them different from one another even though the path that they followed to become the divinities or the titles that they possessed had many similarities to one another.
The first of which was obviously their skills and authorities. There are many who do not understand how some higher being with very similar titles or visible names could be so different.
‘The Master of Lust is a singular entity that rules over a floor of hell by himself. However, [Mistress of Lust], [Lust of Winds], [Great Lady of Desires] are names that, despite being closely similar to the master of the Sin, are gods within different factions from one another.’
The skills and authorities define each and every one of the higher beings. That is also the reason the Transcended beings who have not been acknowledged by the tower but still possess divinity could do almost everything the Gods could.
The Supreme Archmages who reach the pinnacle of magic, the Sword Gods, those who master a certain ‘art’ like alchemy, even the beings who have unique paths different from the traditional ones, like the god who became a god by chopping woods for 10,000 years, obtain divinity.
It is not the fact that they possess this divine power by how they come to possess it that defines their unique dispositions within the grand community of the high floor divine beings.
That’s where the second element comes into play as well— their Origin Story.
‘Within tower, every higher being’s ascension is marked by not just the floors they have climbed, but also by how they came to possess their divine power.’
In the Tower of Beginning, strength and the clearance stage of the floors were two different things.
Some players were ridiculously strong but they had never really climbed the tower while some high rankers weren’t all that strong.
That’s why the climbed floors were never counted to measure someone’s strength.
After a certain floor, the race to the top will become an individual thing. Those who are strong enough will become the sword and shield of their civilization.
When the time comes, they will have to defend against the higher beings as well… But we still have some time left for that.
‘The thing that matters to the higher beings is their source of entertainment and sustenance.’
Every being that possesses divinity has something that they have made the core of their existence.
The gods who are associated with light draw power from different aspects of light, same for darkness, same from those associated with different elements of celestial bodies.
But it all had started from where.
‘The transition from a mortal to a divine is no small event.’
All the things that lead up to that are connected with each other. They make the divine being who they are and what they possess at the point of their rebirth as a divine is what they gain going forward.
Their origin story defines them as much as their skills and powers, and along with it, what they create and consume to keep their forms and go further is what makes them different from their fellow divinities.
‘The gods who like the misery of others will make dungeons that have so many dangerous monsters that anyone entering will suffer indiscriminately.’
The gods who like to spread happiness will help others by making good artifacts and providing it to those who would need it.
There are countless gods within the tower that do different things according to their innate disposition and consume different ‘stories’ that the dungeon masters cultivate.
The prices at which the dungeons are sold depends on the kind of story these dungeons hold and how well they are advertised.
‘It is clear that the white crow managed to do well with my instructions.’
I had told them a lot of things and how they can get the highest pay from their current position.
The amount I received was obviously not small so I knew they were doing well. However, there was something that had been bothering me since earlier.
‘They did not come to visit me all this time, and now that they’re here, they brought with them a senior who, apparently, wasn’t under the god they were supposed to be.’
The dungeon managers are born from nature so they are unique beings like the Fairies and Druides. Their unique nature corresponds with certain characteristics of certain gods that makes them go along with each other.
‘I believed the managers would be the same as what I knew in this tower as well. That was how it should have been logically.’
But that doesn’t seem to be the case here.
From the look on the blue Naga’s eyes, it was pretty obvious that I had just offended them with the way I behaved.
“I must apologise for how I reacted just now. I did not mean any disrespect.” I first apologised and immediately after that, as a token of my apology, I took out a certain thing that I had been saving for a while now.
“It may not be much, but please accept this as my sincere apology. This is not a bribe or anything like that. I cannot erase what is already done, so I simply ask for your forgiveness.” The meat of the flame goat from the 1st floor that I was holding on to was perfect for this occasion.
The blue or sapphire Nagas are beings who possess immense strength and magical abilities. The ones who have a jewel on their heads are even more precious as they represent the pinnacle of their kind.
Each snake-like mystical creature, be it the Nagas, the Hydra, or even the Draconic beings have a jewel holder who represents the top of their kind, the royals.
This snake was one such being and instead of being under the ‘One who maintains and destroys’ she was under the one who had ‘attained enlightenment before returning as a mortal’.
The significance of the change might not be visible to any of them, the fact that both these higher beings were from different factions made the situation very, very complex.
‘An enlightened one that pioneered an unorthodox route to liberation and the extreme Orthodox being that is considered to be the first ever presence in the entire universe were pretty different.’
The jeweled snake serving the higher being meant they were delivering certain kinds of products to these higher beings.
By being the senior, they had other dungeon managers under them. In this case, the Naga was the senior and the white crow her junior.
From how the white crow was preparing a dungeon full of monsters, it should correspond with the innate characteristics of the higher being that I knew.
But from how the snake behaved just now to how the crow was intimidated by her presence none of these things were sitting right with me.
{ “You… are a strange mortal indeed.” }
I thought about how he needed to deal with these two.
The white crow was his business partner and yet he just brought someone I didn’t know to us.
The blue snake was something that was showing many different signs than what I was familiar with and that needed some more investigation.
The first thing to do here though, was to get rid of the elements that would come with it.
“I’m just doing what I should.” I just bowed to the creature once again and moved on to the next thing.
The forgiveness was given and now that this was over, there was a lot that I needed to talk about with this white crow of mine.
They were here for some reason, mostly to meet me and perhaps to solve something that might be happening with them.
‘What I can guess though, is how they will need me for something simple.’
They were dungeon managers and the dungeon managers prepared dungeons.
The dungeons have themes and there are ways to improve and modify them. The dungeon managers test their dungeons in many of the occasions as well, and this right here seemed like one of those testing pre-phases.
I know I should be doing something else right now, but this was a priority. Looking after my family members who were having tea right behind my back was something I can do later anyway.
“Shall we talk business now? You must be here for that, correct?”
I was the one that instructed the white crow how to get better at what they were doing already. I was the one who helped them get so much attention from the other higher beings.
The interference of a higher up wasn’t that surprising but their direct appearance was.
So, I wanted to tone it down a bit.
Perhaps, talking a little will ease a few things between us…
