“Ah, now you’re all here. I can fill you in on everything.”Flint tells us all about Alpha Torrance, Connell, and the news that Torrance,Anika, and Hulah could have been or are lovers.

My face must say it all when Flint informed us of that asLyle busts out laughing and Chief Glen chuckles. Poppa Lykos shakes his head atme, and Momma Akela looks as disgusted as I do.

I mind link with Momma Akela ‘Momma this is disgusting’. Imust take her by surprise as her head shoots back to me before she beams. ‘Yes,it is and would answer a lot of our questions’. She responds in my mind, and Ican’t help thinking it’s odd, but it’s always nice to know if I need them, Ican reach out. Even if I’m far from them.

Flint finishes his updates and Momma Akela insists he joinsus for the evening meal, and we all quickly eat before Drake arrives for ourdaily lesson. The lessons are getting much harder as he’s not holding backanymore. I can see now he was taking it easy on me at the beginning, althoughit didn’t feel like it.

Poppa Lykos is clearing the table as he’s talking and takesme a little by surprise when he informs me Alpha Blueblood has been in touchwith him.

“What does he want?” I ask.

“He wants the same two-week visit as you gave Spirit WalkerPack and are going to give Blood Pearl Pack. I told him you would, but you haveyour birthday first.”

“Okay. I like Alpha Blueblood. He has shown me nothing butkindness, the same as Alpha Walker. Maybe I can get to Blood Pearl after mybirthday?”

“You’re not as excited about going to Blood Pearl, are you?”Lyle asks and I shake my head, that no, I’m not.

“I’m not sure about Alpha Aurora. She made me nervous. IfEbony feels anything to worry about, she’ll tell me and I’ll get myself out ofthere and back into our territory. She seems too forceful for me to really feeleasy with her.”

Lyle gives me a look that I’m not sure of before hecomments. “Tati, you are an Alpha female. She is only that because shechallenged and won. Your blood is stronger and will always be that way. She’s adominant female because she’s had to be and fighting against the shiftercouncil at the beginning had to be hard on her, but she got them to respecther.”

Flint speaks out. “She’s a good Alpha, but she has to learnto polish herself. As you’ve noticed, she comes across with a lot of roughedges, and more than a little aggression.”

“I’ll be okay, I’m sure. I’m stronger than I was, and I’mnot scared like I used to be. Ebony wouldn’t let anything happen to me.”

Of course, I’ll not let anything happen to you. If ithurts you, it hurts me. I think we’ll have to see what Alpha Aurora is likewhen we get there, but she can bet we’ll not be backing down either. No one isever going to make us submissive again.

“Your eyes flashed. Was Ebony speaking to you?” Lyle asks,then chuckles. “I bet she said Alpha Aurora can take a hike.”

I giggle because although Ebony didn’t actually say that,her meaning was the same. “Not quite, but nearly.” I giggle.

Flint finishes his visit and takes off, leaving us all to ourevening. It’s not long before Drake arrives, and we are put through our paces.Lyle loves every minute, and Chief Glen is asking questions, nodding his head,and rubbing his chin. I’m about to drag my feet and more than ready to go tobed, which doesn’t go unnoticed by Drake.

“Are you alright Tati?” Drake asks, taking me to one side ofthe paddock.

“I’m tired. I think all the stress of what’s happened in thelast months has caught up, and I feel a weight on my shoulders that I’m notsure I want or I’m ready for.”

Drake takes my upper arms into his hands gently and looks mein the eye. “No matter what you decide to do, I’m helping you because I wantyou to survive. Whether it’s an Alpha, Luna, or rogue, I want you to live thebest life you can have. You’ve gone through some awful times, Tati, but you’venew parents and friends who are ready to stand by you.”

Nodding, I surprise myself and Drake when I wrap my armsaround him and hug him quickly before stepping back. “Thank you.”

“Now go catch Lyle and make him tree climb. That’ll bringhim back down to earth because he’s getting cocky, as he’s beaten you twicetonight.”

Now, I hadn’t realized that and Ebony perks up in the backof my mind. Hey now, come on, Tati, Lyle, and Hunter won’t let us hear thelast of it if you let them beat us.

Shaking myself, I rush over to Lyle, punch his shoulder, andshout. “TREE CLIMBING.” Before I run into the forest and up the nearest tree asfast as I can, I can’t help the grin as I hear Lyle cursing as he’s trying tocatch me.

Wednesday comes around too fast and after giving Chief Glenand Lyle a hug, I watch as Lyle and Chief Glen walk away from the farmhouse andback to Spirit Walker Pack. It has me feeling rather sad even though I knowI’ll be keeping in touch, but I’ll miss Lyle. He’s become a good friend, andhe’s such fun to be around. I give the last wave as they disappear into theforest before turning and walking into town for my daily dose of Mr. Wallace.

Chapter 24

TATIANA

The last two weeks have been a rollercoaster of businesses, paperwork, watchingany meetings the town council holds, and giving my opinion on how to settlematters that town members bring forward. On top of that, the lessons with Drakeduring the evening and weekends, there has been no time for any kind of fun.

I’ve spoken to Lyle twice on the phone and it’s been nicekeeping in touch with him. Poppa Lykos gave me a phone and told me to enjoy myfriends and that he’s sure I’d make more as I got known in town and otherpacks.

I know we have a mate, but I don’t know where he is.
