Tati: No, neither am I. It’s broken my trust.

Poppa: Ok, can you get away without causing a problem? Ordo you need to sneak away? [winking emoji]

Tati: I can just walk out, no one can stop me, Poppa.

Poppa: If you want to come home, then come and I’ll meetyou at the border.

Tati: I’ll come home. I’m already packed and will make myway now. It’ll take me four hours.

Poppa: I’ll put my foot down and get to the border beforeyou. Now get moving and any trouble you call and I’ll bring more than just me.

Tati: Ok Poppa, I’m going now.

Picking up my backpack, I throw it on my back and leave thebedroom. Making my way downstairs, ignoring the pack members who give mequestioning looks as I pass.

Jogging away from the front door of the pack house, I headtowards the border between Blood Pearl Pack and Wolfsfoot Town where I leftPoppa Lykos and will meet up with him.

“Tati!” I hear, but ignore the call to me, not wanting toknow who it is or what they want. “Wait.”

Not happening, I’m thinking and keep jogging. When a handgrabs my shoulder lightly, I spin, give a high kick, and as the person rocksback, I lift fisted hands to the front of my face, at the ready, just as Draketaught me. That’s when I see it is Vernon.

Turning, I jog again in the direction I’m going and ignorethe cursing behind me. But I know Ebony is fully alert and keeping her sensesalert to what is happening around me.

Hearing a female call my name, I look to the side and seeAlpha Aurora walking over toward me. “Tatiana, where are you going?”

“I’m leaving Alpha Aurora. It’s time for me to go home.” Itry to stay polite but I can feel Ebony bristling.

“Why are you leaving? Your visit here still has anotherweek.”

Alpha Aurora has brought some of her Alpha power into playand I can feel it running over me.

“I don’t appreciate or trust that my private business isbandied around your pack. Certain things were told to you in privacy with theunderstanding that they were to be kept just that, private. Yet, I hear that isnot the case, so I’m afraid my time here is done. I thank you for the visit,but I’m leaving now.” I turn when Alpha Aurora throws Alpha power at my back,and that’s when Ebony rears inside me so fast I have no chance of stopping her.

I feel a staggering amount of power roll over and burstoutwards, rocking Alpha Aurora back and Vernon shifts into his wolf, crawlingon the ground. Taking a deep breath, I calm myself, turn and run towards theborder, leaving a shocked Alpha behind.

Run faster, Tati. We are being followed.

‘Who is it? Can you tell?’ I ask Ebony.

Three warriors, but not ones we know. Alpha notfollowing. I think we shocked her and her wolf Aztec. They are not as strong asus, although active Alpha of a pack.

‘Okay, Ebony, let’s go home.’ I pick up my stride and headback to the border, ignoring the wolves that are following. Thankfully, theydon’t try to stop us from leaving, but both Ebony and I are ready if they try.

Stopping halfway, I know I’ve got to pick up on time orPoppa Lykos will worry. Taking my backpack off, I place it on the ground soEbony can step and roll into it. Shifting quickly, backpack on Ebony’s back, werun fast for the border, leaving the wolves struggling to keep up.

By the time I arrive at the pack border, two warriors arestanding between me and Poppa Lykos. I lift my head and throw my mind-link. ‘Poppa,I’m here.’

Walking towards the border but keeping just on the rightside, Poppa grins and places his hands on his hips. The two warriors make astand, and I can see by their body language they are going to try to stop mefrom reaching Poppa and leaving the territory.

“Thanks Drake,” both Ebony and I think, as Ebony picks upspeed, jumps, and sails over the warriors’ heads, taking them by surprise.Reaching the border, we quickly step over and I shift to myself, grabbing PoppaLykos and wrapping my arms around his waist tightly.

“You alright, Tati?” Poppa asks, kissing my forehead when Ilook up at him.

“Yeah, I’m fine. Let’s go home.”

In the truck, I fill in Poppa on what happened at the BloodPearl Pack, and how easily they spilled the fact that Drake trained me. It is asour point when we trusted Alpha Aurora to keep that information quiet.

“They lost two warriors on the border when the roguesattacked.” Looking at Poppa as he’s driving.
