Legendary Broken Player - VRMMORPG - Chapter 657: Chapter 657 - Wings of the Demoness
Chapter 657: Chapter 657 – Wings of the Demoness
The carriage sped across the vast desert plain before coming to an abrupt halt, jolting slightly as it stopped.
Elincia stood, her eyes scanning the area before them, while Ivana leaped gracefully from the open carriage.
Ahead of them-though not directly on the ground-a figure hovered in the air.
The woman wore black-and-red armor. Her short blonde hair framed her face, a stark contrast to the curved black demon horns jutting from her head. Behind her, bat-like wings flapped, suspending her effortlessly above the desert.
With an almost languid motion, she began her descent. The steady beat of her wings stirred the sand below as she touched down lightly on the dusty ground.
Above her head, a glowing name shimmered in the air: Akiko.
Elincia and Ivana exchanged brief glances as they assessed the figure before them-the Gluttony Champion, and a well-known member of the Horde of Hell.
“Hi!” Akiko called out, raising a hand in an energetic wave.
She giggled, her voice playful. “Oh, it’s Elincia, the famous one! What a surprise. I’m so happy!”
Elincia and Ivana stood side by side, watching as the woman approached.
Akiko sauntered forward leisurely, though she stopped a short distance away, maintaining a safe gap between them.
“Oh… why the shocked faces?” she asked, followed by a soft chuckle. “I just wanted to say hello.”
She paused, tilting her head as if in thought before continuing, “I was wandering around nearby when I noticed you two. So, I thought I’d come say hi!”
Her smile widened, almost too cheerful. “What do you think about, uhm… playing a little game? How about it?”
“I’m not in the mood for games,” Elincia responded coldly. “Just get out of our way.” Akiko’s expression shifted into a mock pout. “Oh… what’s with the cold response? I only wanted to greet someone as famous as you…”
Elincia’s lips curved into a faint smirk at Akiko’s words. “Ivana,” she said quietly. “You know the assignment, right?”
Ivana gave a small nod.
“Uh… wait, wait, wait!” Akiko said, her tone suddenly shifted. “I didn’t come here to cause trouble, see? I came in peace. What about, uh, having a nice chat instead?”
Elincia didn’t respond verbally, but her body suddenly lit up with crackling blue energy, arcs of electricity sparking around her form.
Ivana followed suit, summoning her Massive Shield.
“Oh, come on, girls…” Akiko said. “I came peacefully! I don’t want to fight!”
“Shut up and save your excuses for when we’ve forced you to log out of this game, bitch!” Elincia snapped.
“What? Bitch?” Akiko shouted back. “I came here nicely, and this is how you treat me? That’s just rude!”
“I said save it,” Elincia replied. “We’ll kill you easily.”
Akiko’s wings flared out as her temper ignited. “Wait! You do know I’m a Gluttony Champion, right? You think you can just beat me? That’s adorable.”
With a flick of her wrists, two swords materialized in her hands, blazing with scorching flames that danced along the blades. She spun them once before pointing them at the pair.
“Elincia, I know you’re famous and powerful, but let’s be real-you’re only at an Epic-grade class,” Akiko said.
“While I… I’m a Divine Champion. You know how significant that status is. Consider this your final warning: I came in peace,” she added.
“Then let’s see what you’ve got,” Elincia shot back, electricity crackling as blue lightning surged around her.
Akiko was one of the less visible members of the Horde of Hell, a guild whose notoriety largely stemmed from its flamboyant leader, Galactron the Necromancer, and the loudmouthed SpeedGang.
Unlike her guildmates, Akiko operated in the shadows, rarely making her movements known.
She was a dual-sword fighter who specialized in overwhelming her enemies with blistering speed and devastating melee precision.
Her class revolved around maximizing the effectiveness of her double blades while leveraging her bat-like wings for unparalleled mobility. With the ability to fly, she was a nightmare for grounded opponents, able to avoid melee combat while closing the gap on long-range attackers with terrifying ease.
What made Akiko truly feared, however, was her rumored invulnerability to magic and projectiles. Players who had faced her spoke in hushed tones about her apparent immunity, complaining that she seemed utterly unaffected by ranged spells or arrows-a seemingly unfair cheat.
It was this lethality and her alleged invincibility that earned her a fearsome reputation. Many players who had faced her barely lasted seconds before being struck down, her swords carving through them with effortless precision.
What a stupid cheat ability!
That was the common sentiment among those who spoke of her exploits. The Divine Champions, after all, were notorious for possessing abilities that felt like they broke the very rules of the game.
Even so, no ability was without its weaknesses. Akiko’s methods and powers remained a mystery to most, but weaknesses were always there-hidden, waiting to be exploited.
With two skilled opponents like Elincia and Ivana, the odds were finally stacked against Akiko. Together, they might be able to push her to her limits, forcing her to reveal the cracks in her seemingly invincible armor.
“Ivana, attack relentlessly without stopping!”
“Oh, you’re really forcing my hand,” Akiko replied, her expression shifting to one of
disappointment.
She tightened her grip on her dual swords, slashing them in a series of quick arcs as she readied herself for the fight.
Elincia floated in midair. Raising both hands, she unleashed several magic missiles that surged toward Akiko with deadly precision.
Akiko’s lips curled into a faint smile as she flapped her wings sharply, propelling herself toward her enemies. The missiles streaking toward her were effortlessly sliced apart midair by her twin blades, dissolving into harmless sparks as they disintegrated.
Elincia’s eyes widened in alarm.
Closing the gap in a flash, Akiko aimed a fierce dual-bladed strike at Ivana.
Ivana raised her massive shield just in time, bracing against the blow. The impact forced her back several paces, her feet skidding against the ground under the sheer force of Akiko’s
attack.
From above, Elincia swiftly summoned another spell, her hands weaving arcs of crackling energy. A deafening boom echoed across the desert as a bolt of lightning tore down from the
sky, streaking toward Akiko.
But Akiko didn’t flinch. She glanced briefly at the incoming lightning, smirked, and maneuvered her wings in a tight fold to shield her body. The lightning crashed into her, only to fizzle out harmlessly upon contact, dissipating like mist against her wings.
Akiko’s smirk deepened as she launched herself toward Elincia with a single, powerful flap of
her wings.
“Elincia!” Ivana called out.
Elincia hastily summoned a protective magic shield around herself, but Akiko’s swords carved through it like paper. The barrier shattered in a flash of blue light.
Ivana moved to intercept Akiko’s next attack, hurling her massive shield with full force. The
shield rocketed toward Akiko, aiming to knock her off balance.
But something unexpected happened…
The moment the shield struck Akiko’s wings, it rebounded harmlessly, its momentum
completely nullified. It clattered to the ground.
“I told you, didn’t I?” Akiko said with a smirk.
“It’s all pointless!” she shouted.
Elincia’s expression tightened with visible stress. She needed to figure out the true ability of
this bitch-and fast!
