Legendary Broken Player - VRMMORPG - Chapter 872 - 872 - Scythe of the Sea Reaper

The spears clashed.
Broken’s weapon met the massive spear of the Named Demon in a crackling, thunderous collision that sent tremors through the water. But the force behind Haagenti’s strike was immense—his massive body nearly twice Broken’s size, his form fitting more against Broken’s Golden Paragon than Broken himself.
What an irony… The demon seemed more fit to fight his summon than the summoner.
The pressure from the clash was overwhelming. A powerful shockwave tore through the water as Broken was blasted downward, his body hurled through the depths with brutal force. He crashed hard into the seabed, sand and stone erupting around him.
Damn! He’s strong—too strong!
Broken barely had time to recover before Haagenti was on him again, swimming like a torpedo. This time, his long, serpentine tail whipped forward, cutting through the water with terrifying speed.
Broken twisted his body and narrowly dodged, the tail missing him by a breath. The force of it alone stirred the water like a cyclone.
Queen Nerisa intervened, summoning the underwater flora—seagrass and coral curling toward Haagenti, trying to bind him. But his bulk was too much. With one violent spin, the demon shattered the bindings, flinging them aside like paper.
Then came another assault.
Haagenti lunged again, unleashing a brutal flurry of spear strikes. Broken did everything he could—parrying, dodging, bracing—but each hit sent shockwaves through his arms. He was barely holding on.
Finally, one strike knocked him clean off his footing.
He was launched backward, spinning uncontrollably, before slamming into a massive coral outcrop.
This is bad. Really bad.
He winced, gripping his side, catching his breath through gritted teeth.
“If only… Grill was here,” he muttered through the pain. “One level boost could’ve helped me tank that hit…”
But there was no time to wish for allies.
He had to endure.
Broken’s heart sank as he glanced toward the battlefield beyond his clash with the Named Demon.
More merfolk warriors were falling. Their formations had thinned, their movements slower, more frantic. At least thirty percent of them were down—if not more. The battlefield was bleeding, and the tides weren’t turning in their favor.
Damn it… this might really be the fall of the Oceanic Kingdom.
But Haagenti wasn’t done.
The Named Demon had locked onto Broken like prey, and he wasn’t letting go. Blow after blow came at him, each strike from that massive spear filled with raw fury. The demon fought like he held a personal vendetta, as if Broken’s earlier interference had carved a wound deeper than pride.
Every time Haagenti knocked him back, he would dart forward again, swimming with terrifying speed and precision.
And now—his spear was glowing.
Not just glowing—blazing.
The weapon surged with burning red light, growing larger, heavier.
Broken was still recovering, vision blurred, lungs burning, when Haagenti came in for the kill.
The massive blade arced down toward him in a sweeping, blazing slash.
Damn!
He couldn’t move fast enough. His body screamed from the last impact.
But in that instant—a flash of motion cut through the chaos.
Queen Nerisa.
She shot forward like a bolt, placing herself between the demon’s blade and Broken. A towering shield of water surged before her.
The strike landed.
BOOM!
The sea exploded with force. Shockwaves slammed through the depths, shattering coral and sending waves of energy in every direction. The pressure was so intense it made the water vibrate violently. A burst of blue blood sprayed from the Queen’s mouth, floating like ink in the ocean as her body jerked under the force.
Both of them were flung back—slammed into a massive coral structure behind them. Another explosion erupted on impact, shaking the entire battlefield.
She took that hit for him.
But Haagenti… he wasn’t slowing down.
Despite his wounds—deep gashes across his body, and cracks in his armored scales—he was only getting faster. Stronger. His aura flared wider, burning brighter. Every injury only seemed to fuel him.
A berserker.
The longer this went on, the worse it would get. He was a demon who thrived in prolonged battle, whose power grew with pain.
If this fight dragged on, Broken and Nerisa wouldn’t last.
Broken forced himself to recover, pushing off the shattered coral, every breath burning in his chest. Damn. The longer this dragged out, the worse it became.
Then, he heard her voice—Queen Nerisa, floating beside him once more.
“My strength isn’t well-suited for single-target combat.”
And strangely, that gave him an idea.
He turned to her. “I’ll hold this bastard off for a bit. I want you to focus on injuring the demon forces—hit them hard, but don’t kill them. Leave the final blow to me.”
She tilted her head slightly. “Why?”
“No time to explain. Just do it!”
Nerisa studied him for half a second, then gave a small nod. Without another word, she darted away.
Broken’s mind was racing.
“If I can max out my Soul Points. if I can hit that full 1,000…” He clenched his fists. “Then I’ll have enough for a Soul Blast strong enough to rip Haagenti apart.”
But first, he had to survive.
And the Named Demon wasn’t giving him space.
Haagenti came at him again, his glowing spear sweeping through the water like a burning blade of ruin. With Queen Nerisa now focused elsewhere, Broken had to take the full brunt of the assault—dodging, parrying, retreating with every pulse of energy that surged toward him.
He was being hunted.
But he didn’t falter.
This was all part of the plan.
Then, just as Haagenti pulled back for another devastating strike—Nerisa returned.
She shot forward in a blur, intercepting the blow just before it reached Broken. Her magic clashed against the demon’s weapon, creating a wave of force that stunned the waters around them.
“Good!” Broken hissed through clenched teeth, seizing the moment.
He darted backward, summoned his power, and prepared another full-area assault.
Time to fill the Soul Gauge.
Time to end this.

A brutal surge of water exploded outward from Broken’s position, sweeping through the battlefield with relentless fury. Tidal waves of magic struck the demon ranks, tearing through the wounded with pinpoint precision.
And the notifications came fast—each one a flash of vindication.
[Soul Points: 662 / 1,000]
[Soul Points: 683 / 1,000]
[Soul Points: 712 / 1,000]
“Yes…” Broken breathed. “That’s it. That’s enough.”
He turned his eyes toward Queen Nerisa—bloodied, panting, barely upright. Her shield magic flickered, her body trembling under the weight of the battle.
He clenched his jaw. And shot forward.
“Pawpaw… I need you,” he whispered.
Immediately, tendrils of shadow erupted from his body—swirling, twisting, covering him like a living cloak. The air around him darkened, and from the shadows, a familiar presence answered.
Then the world dimmed.
[Eternal Flame – Grim Reaper (Conditional Active Skill) activated]
The shadow fully enveloped him, his silhouette now cloaked in shifting darkness. With one swift motion, he summoned his weapon.
The Soul Drainer Scythe.
It shimmered into existence—wicked, curved, pulsing with the essence of every soul he had claimed.
Broken smirked, the shadow mask barely hiding it.
He surged forward like death itself, moving faster than before, his figure now a blur in the water.
And then—he whispered it into the dark.
[Soul Blast (Conditional Active Skill) activated]
It was time to end this.
One strike. One moment. All or nothing.
