Life of Being a Crown Prince in France - Chapter 1555 - 1461: Driven to Desperation

“I’m going to kill him! Bastard!” Charles’s eyes were bloodshot as he struggled desperately. “Let go of me!”
Earl Bender asked in shock, “Who do you want to kill? What on earth happened?”
He was a French diplomat and the main executor of this plan.
Meanwhile, Charles’s attendant quietly concealed the pistol in his hand—if the prince hadn’t brought a gun today, this pistol would have ended up on the card table.
“Let go!” Charles forcefully pointed towards room 218, shouting, “He took my woman, and I want to duel him!”
“Unforgivable!” Earl Bender also showed an angry expression. “Whose young lady have you fallen in love with?”
Charles instinctively said, “She’s not someone’s young lady…”
Bender immediately interrupted him nervously, “Have you fallen in love with a married woman?”
Charles raised his head defiantly, “So what if I have?”
“With all due respect, you shouldn’t threaten her husband.”
“He’s not her husband…”
In the hall downstairs, the Commander of the Royal Guard signaled to a few people beside him, “Go confirm where the lady is.”
Then he shouted to everyone, “Everyone, put down your weapons! Who fired the gun just now?”
A few minutes earlier, he had received a note saying someone was planning an assassination at the masquerade ball. So he had rushed to the villa, just in time to hear gunshots.
All eyes in the hall turned towards Charles.
The Commander of the Guard menacingly pointed upstairs, “Bring him down!”
Princess of Hesse Charlotte recognized the “stag” causing a commotion as Prince Charles and immediately became anxious.
She quickly removed her mask and walked briskly to the officer, saying, “Sir, I can assure you, that gentleman is just drunk and won’t harm anyone.”
The guard commander saluted her, “Princess Charlotte, we must ensure the lady’s safety.”
Charlotte stepped forward two more steps and whispered, “That is a man of very high status. Your actions will cause big trouble…”
In room 218, two people busy “exercising” were startled by the gunshots and immediately stopped.
Soon, Louise heard a young man shouting, “I’m going to kill him! I want to duel him!”
Her pupils instantly contracted. That was clearly Charles’s voice.
She was confident she could toy with the young man’s feelings and had a thousand ways to ditch him without making him hold a grudge against her, but she absolutely dared not offend him.
If she provoked the young man, it was truly possible for Prussia to face invasion by the French Army!
“How is he here? Damn it! What do we do now?”
She pushed aside Baron Trudeun, who was reluctant to leave, frantically gathering the scattered clothes and said in a low voice, “Quick, help me get dressed! Hurry!”
Noblewomen’s clothes of this era were extremely complicated, and it took at least twenty minutes to dress without help.
At this moment, they heard the Royal Guard shouting again from downstairs, “Go confirm where the lady is.”
Louise felt dizzy on the spot.
Why did the Guard come? These idiots!
If the guards were to now open the door to room 218, salute her, wouldn’t that be equivalent to announcing to the world that she was having an affair here, and another lover had found out and was shouting about a duel?
Damn it, damn it! How did things turn out this way?
The Royal Guard had already started knocking on doors one by one, “Madam, are you there?”
“Madam, we need to confirm your safety.”
Louise anxiously looked at her lover, “I can’t let them find out about me, think of something!”
Baron Trudeun pretended to have just reacted and pointed outside the door, “Wait, that voice sounds familiar. I’m sure I know him. Maybe I should go meet this rival…”
The Prussian Queen looked desperately at the ceiling, hesitated for two seconds, and said in a deep voice, “Alright, if that’s Charles, will you still go?”
Baron Trudeun’s face changed dramatically, “Prince Charles? Yes, that voice… That’s right. My God! You actually and with His Highness…”
“Don’t babble!” Louise said anxiously, “If he finds out we’re here… you definitely won’t have a good ending either!”
“Yes, yes…” Baron Trudeun immediately became serious, his gaze sweeping across the room, finally pointing to the window, “You need to hide first.”
“Hide? Where to hide?”
“Outside the window.”
Louise pointed at herself, “You’re crazy, people will see me like this!”
Baron Trudeun picked up his clothes from the floor and handed them over, “Wear this.”
Men’s clothing, if not buttoned up, could be put on in just over ten seconds.
Louise looked at his thick chest hair, “What about you? And how do we deal with the guards?”
“I have my ways. You let Tina come in…”
Tina was Queen Louise’s most trusted maid.
Earl Bender held Prince Charles tightly and said sternly in his ear:
“Your Highness, you must control your anger. Think about it, if news about you fighting over a married woman with a Teutonic Barbarian and publicly dueling is sent back to Paris, what a terrible impact it would have? You’re the Prince of France!”
The French people always looked down upon the Prussians, and “Teutonic Barbarians” was a derogatory term for them.
Charles paused, his struggling weakened, “I… but…”
Earl Bender continued to press, “If the Regent knows about what you did today, he would be very disappointed.”
Mentioning his brother, Charles suddenly felt as if cold water had been poured over him, his anger turning into tension, “This, my brother must not know. But should I just let that guy go?”
Earl Bender patted his chest, “I swear, I’ll help you teach that guy a lesson! Oh, and that damned harlot, of course, won’t be spared.”
Clearly, Charles had no time to consider whether Bender had the ability to do so, and he adjusted his mask and nodded, “Alright then, let’s leave here first.”
As Bender and the others were escorting him to the stairway, they were stopped by an officer of Louise’s guard, “Sorry, gentlemen, you cannot leave until we confirm the lady’s safety.”
Bender took off his mask and then took out his diplomat passport, “I am the French Consul in Berlin, and I represent the French Government, vouching for this gentleman. Now, please step aside.”
The officer hesitated.
Getting involved in a diplomatic dispute with France was something he couldn’t afford, but if anything happened to Her Majesty the Queen, it would be even worse for him…
Just then, a woman rushed over from room 218 and whispered to the officer, “The lady is very safe, you should leave quickly.”
“Who are you?”
The woman reluctantly took off her mask, “Hurry and go.”
The officer frowned, recognizing the person in front of him as Valentina, the Queen’s personal maid.
The guests attending the masquerade began whispering to each other.
“Where’s the lady?” the officer asked.
“She has already left.”
Earl Bender suddenly interjected, “You see, none of this has anything to do with us.”
The officer hesitated for a moment, ultimately overtaken by the fear of being executed, glanced towards room 218, and signaled to his two lieutenants, “Go check that room.”
Valentina panicked, “You can’t…”
The two lieutenants immediately drew their swords and lightly knocked on 218’s door, “Madam, are you inside?”
“Get lost!”
It was a man’s roar.
The tall lieutenant exchanged a glance with his colleague, kicked the door open, and froze on the spot.
Inside the room, an unfamiliar blond man was earnestly engaged in physical activity with the Queen’s close maid Tina.
