Chapter 84 – Calm Before The Storm

Hachin swiftly jumped into the river and swam away.

"Hachin wait! It's not safe!!!" Hua Ro jumped in after him. but his swimming skills were not as par to his mate. He struggled to even swim down a few meters.

Hachin had already disappeared into the depths.

"Fuck! Hey you! go with him!" he glanced back at Wren who was still glancing at the sky in a dazed state. "you!"

"Stop calling him you. He has a name." Feng sat down next to him whilst holding the sheets awkwardly. "Wren.." he gently touched his shoulders.

Wren snapped out of his dazed state.

"We will find him. For now, you have to go check your clan. There could have been a few caught in the attack. We have to prioritize rescuing them."

Wren looked at him with his eyes wide open. Then he glanced at the river.

The river that was once clear blue was fully muddled into a brown muck. Its beauty had gone..

Wren jumped in hurriedly and swam into its depths.

Watching this, Feng out a breath of relief.

That attack really left Wren's mental state in a roll. He was barely able to process anything.

"Your mate is stupid," Hua Ro suddenly said beside him.

Without even glancing his way, he pushed at his face. "Don't talk shit about him, or I might tear your beak the next time,"

Hua Ro growled, holding his bleeding nose. "Fuck, is this how you repay my help! We saved your asses. If not, you and your mate would have been charred bodies by now,"

Feng glared at him coldly. "Shut up….."

Hua Ro silently looked his way. "So.. you were the one taking it… I never thought you would be the one…"

Feng tossed a rock at him.

Hua caught it and crushed it with his fist. "That must have been a hit to your pride. The undefeated Feng got defeated in bed."

Feng stood up, wrapping the sheets around his body well. "Someone like you who impregnated your mate without consent would not know. We don't just share bodies, we share a soul. You will never ever get that bond," he walked a little into the shore and sat there cultivating.

The spirit stone mountain was broken into small boulders. It was the prime time to use it or else the spiritual energy would seep out and it will turn into a useless rock.

He cautiously looked at him. "Tell me, why did you choose to come here and warn us? you could have ignored that and let us both die. You could have had my forest."

Hua Ro opened his eyes, letting out black smoke from his mouth. "I'm not petty like you,"

"yes, I only wanted a small part because my home was literally going up in flames. I just wanted a place to stay. The first time I got here you acted like a big shot and started this fight. You wounded my wings, don't you remember that?"

Feng looked to the side. he did not remember this event at all. But his friend mentioned something similar like this…. one day he was drunk and started a fight with someone.

He started to sweat slightly.

"I was drunk. And you entered my territory without permission. If course i will attack you!"

Hua Ro chuckled dryly. "Immature."

"You!.. You badly want to fight, don't you? Come on, stand up." Feng stood there with his hand on his waist.

Hua chuckled softly. "Yeah not when you are in that state. You are naked and you're in your bed sheets."

"So what?" he wrapped the sheet tightly around him. "In my beast form I've always been naked."

"So you want to show your naked body to someone other than your mate.."

Feng froze. "That's not what I'm saying. Why are you twisting my words?"

"Sit down Feng. I don't want to fight you as you are now. Go get strong and come back to challenge me."

Panting softly, Feng plopped down on the soft sand. "Fuck you are acting like a big man now. Does your little mate know all the bad things you've done?"

Hua peered at him with his brows raised. "I was hoping you would not be willing to share that,"

"Why not?" Feng felt like he had the upper hand in this conversation.

"Well if you tell Hachin all the bad things I have done, he will leave me. And who do you think he will run to? Yeah that's right. He will run over to your darling little mate's embrace. They both are very close rent they…"

Feng bit his lips. That stupid Roc had a point. If Hachin got separated from Hua then he will definitely stick to Wren. He did not like that idea one bit.

His mate really liked that guy and even risked his life to search for him when he was missing.

Pouting slightly, Feng sat down on the beach playing with the small shards of spiritual rocks.

Suddenly there was movement in the ocean. He ran close by.

Wren swam up first and followed by his friend.

"How was it?"

"They evacuated on time… but the shark tribe was completely annihilated.." Wren said waded out of the shore.

His whole body was smoking just as he walked out of the water. He looked at the sky in anger.

"Wren dear," he cradled his face. "It's okay. First, we need to get strong enough to fight them. Only after that can we confront them,"

Hachin climbed out after slightly trembling.

Hua Ro ran to him and placed his shirt over his back. "We are leaving. Let's not get involved in this mess any longer."

Hachin glared up at him.

Hus Ro went silent.

"Wren, what is your next plan? Should we go search for our clan? They are most likely on the way to join our northern tribe? Should we swim north?"

"No, they are after me. Following after our clan will only put them in danger. For now, let's hide and increase your cultivations'. After that…" taking a deep breath, he glanced up at the sky in rage. "I will have my revenge.. I swear on my powers and in my mother's name..I will defeat them…"

"I will fight beside you. and we will always be by your side.," Hachin stood beside him patting his back.

Just as he said that Wren hurriedly stood in front of him hiding his body from Hua's gaze. "let's go to the village and rest."

Wren looked down at him with a small smile. "but you said it will take days,"

"Great let's get going," Hachin patted his mate's back and whispered into his ear. "I'll reward you,"

He jumped up high and swiftly transformed into a huge black eagle like creature.

"Get on everyone. Don't tug at his feathers, he is very sensitive," Hachin said climbing onto him. Hua Ro even sat down and spread his wings for his lover to climb on.

Feng giggled secretly. "oh this is going to be so fun~"
