Lord of the Truth - Chapter 2206 short glory

“RAAAAAH!!!”
Asr tore violently through the void, dragging behind him a thin sword in one hand and an hourglass in the other as his aura burned intensely around his body like a streak of rushing light cutting across the darkness.
After informing Lord Robin about everything, he had immediately risen to follow him without hesitation, but Lord Robin had ordered him to remain behind, gather as much energy as possible, and heal whatever injuries he could before returning, otherwise his participation would be meaningless and his arrival would only add another burden to the battlefield.
Asr had indeed used the imperial guards’ triple array to accelerate his recovery, and once he finally felt capable of fighting again he rushed back toward the gate at full speed, racing desperately against time so he could participate in whatever terrifying situation was unfolding outside… and more importantly, so he could understand why Lord Robin had not simply shrunk the gate and entered by himself!!
“…Aaaah… huh?”
Asr’s speed gradually slowed until he eventually came to a complete stop.
The expressions on his face shifted from sacrifice and determination into pure astonishment and awe…
A massive battle was indeed taking place before him, a battle so enormous and chaotic that he had been unable to properly understand it from afar.
From a distance, he had only seen countless nascent space beasts swarming around several faint patches of light, but once he drew closer he realized they were not simple lights at all.
They were infernos.
Hundreds of beasts were burning alive in agony, their bodies writhing violently beneath unnatural green flames, while hundreds more were being shredded apart by enormous flying swords cutting through flesh and bone from every direction. Beyond them, thousands upon thousands of additional monsters endlessly circled from afar, roaring uneasily and too terrified to approach any of the seven blazing zones where the soul creatures advanced.
The battlefield no longer resembled a hunt.
It looked like seven living disasters tearing through a sea of monsters.
“What exactly is happening here?!” Asr asked in a low voice filled with disbelief as he tried to process the impossible scene before him.
“Oh, you came at the right time.” Robin turned around before casually motioning for Asr to stand beside them, “I’ll need you shortly.”
“Hey…” Althera’s voice emerged from amidst the endless screams and explosions, low and unfocused as though her thoughts were still trapped within the battlefield itself, “How many units have you consumed by now?”
Curiosity was devouring Althera completely from the inside out.
Barely ten minutes had passed since the battle began. The seven combat units had not even penetrated deeply into the enemy forces yet, nor had they confronted a single young space beast.
And yet…
The sheer amount of damage suffered by the soul creatures had already forced Robin to reconstruct them multiple times. True, each time he intentionally left portions of their bodies exposed and burning with Purifier Flame, but even then he repeatedly restored entire limbs and sometimes even fully reconstructed heads after they had been crushed apart beneath countless attacks.
How many soul units were required just to restore a single limb of those monstrous things?
No… more importantly…
How many soul units were necessary simply to summon one of them while maintaining such absurd combat strength?
“I don’t like thinking too much about the amount of soul units being consumed, otherwise I might hold back.” Robin sighed deeply while continuing to observe the battlefield, “Soul units are not easily replenished, and this is one of the greatest reasons Soul Masters avoid direct combat whenever possible. All of this consumption must eventually be compensated with enormous amounts of emeralds, and emeralds do not grow on trees as you know. Even if you possess enough money, you still might not be able to find enough emeralds to compensate such losses!”
When Robin suddenly remembered the Soul Inheritance technique capable of allowing ordinary mortals to produce emeralds naturally, he abruptly chuckled and waved his hand dismissively as though the problem no longer mattered at all.
“Well, forget it, compensation will actually be easy.”
“…?!” Althera immediately turned toward him with widened eyes, “I didn’t mean how you would compensate them, I already understand how absurdly wealthy you are.” Then she pointed toward the battlefield where explosions and green flames continued spreading endlessly, “My question is how your soul domain can even contain all of this in the first place.”
“….” Blokan also turned toward Robin at once, waiting for the answer with obvious interest, and even Asr, who had only just arrived moments ago, was beginning to piece together a rough understanding of what was truly happening as he looked toward Robin as well.
“In truth, I possess the elastic domain trait, a massive quantity of emeralds, and far too much free time.” Robin laughed casually.
“..?” Blokan furrowed his brows deeply in irritation, “Was the heavens truly unwilling to leave anything for the rest of us?!”
“Hey, it’s the only advantage I was born with. Everything else I worked for personally, and even the Purifier trait cost me dearly.” Robin raised a displeased eyebrow before returning his attention toward the battlefield once more, “Anyway, prepare yourselves.”
“Prepare for what exactly?” Althera asked immediately.
But Robin did not answer her question.
The instant her words ended, an absolutely colossal explosion erupted from the battlefield ahead and a terrifying wave of violent energy surged outward with enough force to shove her backward despite her strength.
Her eyes instantly snapped back toward the battlefield.
The seven combat units finally reached the very center of the nest in a scene that looked as though it had been ripped directly from an ancient epic fantasy legend, advancing like seven blazing suns whose mere presence annihilated everything foolish enough to approach them. Their march had not slowed for even a single instant throughout the entire first phase of the battle, and the number of corpses left behind in their wake had already climbed into the thousands. Even while surrounded by millions upon millions of nascent space beasts from every direction imaginable, they still found no genuine difficulty in continuing their advance deeper and deeper into enemy territory.
The reason was simple.
Fear.
The nascent space beasts were terrified of approaching too closely.
The agonized screams of their burning brethren were already more than enough to plant instinctive terror into their minds, and every monster that witnessed the horrifying green flames consuming flesh from the inside became increasingly hesitant to charge recklessly forward.
But that easy advance did not last forever…
The young space beasts finally appeared.
BOOOOOOM
The collision between the seven combat units and the young space beasts resembled entire solar systems crashing violently into one another.
The instant both sides collided, the battlefield itself exploded into chaos.
The enormous flying swords were blasted far away by the impact, while countless nascent space beasts were violently hurled outward by the terrifying shockwave as though the young beasts were intentionally attempting to dismantle the entire formation and separate every soul creature from the others.
The pressure released by that collision alone was enough to distort the surrounding void.
“RAAAWR–”
Seven young space beasts lunged simultaneously with claws, fangs, tails, and concentrated energy attacks toward the young soul creatures, attacking with enough savagery to rip apart mountains and extinguish lesser worlds.
Within mere moments, those same young beasts themselves began burning beneath the Purifier Flame.
Yet that did not stop them in the slightest.
If anything, the pain only seemed to drive them into even greater rage, causing them to attack more violently, tear more savagely, and release even more destructive power with every passing moment.
The battlefield instantly became far more brutal than before.
Then more space beasts surged forward from every direction and completely surrounded Robin’s soul creatures, every single monster latching onto a different limb or section of the creatures without caring about anything except ripping them apart piece by piece.
The nascent soul creatures no longer possessed the protection and support of their earlier formation after being separated from one another, and they were quickly overwhelmed beneath the endless ocean of monsters surrounding them from all sides.
SWOOSH SWOOSH
The massive swords continued cutting relentlessly through the battlefield, slicing flesh apart and leaving trails of black blood through the void, but the young space beasts had finally begun adapting to them.
Some intercepted the swords using concentrated energy blasts.
Others smashed them apart directly using devastating tail strikes or claw attacks powerful enough to detonate the flying blades instantly upon contact.
One after another, explosions of shattered swords began appearing throughout the battlefield.
“RAAAAAAAAAAAWR–”
The nascent space beasts, after being humiliated and slaughtered in massive numbers, and after the young space beasts themselves began roaring at them in fury and reprimand while personally taking over the battle… all of them suddenly shifted their attention in one unified direction.
Toward the passage.
Toward Robin and the others.
The instinctive fear that had restrained them earlier was finally being replaced by overwhelming bloodlust.
“Aah…” Blokan immediately began retreating once again while staring at the incoming tide of monsters, “About the escape plan…”
“Not now.” Robin calmly pointed forward without the slightest trace of hesitation in his expression, “We fight.”
Then he pulled out a spear in his right hand and an array disk in his left, the pressure around his body subtly beginning to rise once more, “We retreat only after they learn the lesson completely!”
Then…
BOOF
Without waiting for any reply, Robin shot directly toward the hordes of nascent space beasts like a single stone attempting to halt the tide of an endless ocean with sheer willpower alone.
The contrast between his solitary figure and the monstrous sea rushing toward him made the scene look utterly insane.
“..Is he serious?!” Blokan exclaimed in genuine alarm, unable to believe what he was witnessing.
As for Althera, she cursed loudly, “Damn it!” before immediately raising her short sword and charging after Robin without hesitation despite the overwhelming danger ahead.
