“I could teach you all of this and we could learn from hundreds of scholars about this”
Arthur only smiles and then asks
“What do you reckon the solution?”
Ahamad just laughed
“If this was a world before the Fall, we both would never rise to this position”
“But if we do rise to this position in the Old Era, then I would only suggest you use which one is more suitable”
“A ruler should not concern himself whether it is communism, capitalism, socialism or any ism. That is the problem for the scholars and the debaters”
“And they were not the ones that would have to live with the consequences”
“They could only talk. As long as the ruler keep his people happy and fed, the nations is strong and well protected, there would be scholars that would fight your battle for you”
Arthur chuckles
“All of that, and I thought you would ask me to pick up socialism or communism. Or maybe another method. But…. pick which one is suitable, huh?”
Ahmad nodded
“All I said, is true in some capacity. But thinkers have always been good at finding reason and creating reason”
“A ruler job is not to care about what label other people gave them”
“As long as the nation itself is strong, then you are doing a good job”
“Someone once said “What difference does it make to the dead, the orphans and the homeless, whether the mad destruction is wrought under the name of totalitarianism or in the holy name of liberty or democracy?”
“It is the same. The people could endure many things. And they could accept many things. If you manage to make them a happy life, then you are a good ruler”
“And all that I said to you about capitalism, communism, all of this is just rhetoric. The scholars and thinkers that you would see would say one way or the other and they would try to convince you one way or the other
“The things I said, were not even accurate. Why? Because generic terms like “socialism” or “capitalism” mean very different things to different people”
“There’s no periodic table of the ideologies that defines exactly what socialism or capitalism or similar terms “actually” means”
“Those terms also tend to provoke emotions and prime people’s minds with inflammatory or exaggerated ideas. It just guarantees that people will talk past one another and become emotionally charged”
“is socialism for the people? Is capitalism for the people?”
“it depends upon what the ruler wants to build. And the resource they have and the things they wanted to achieve. All I ask, if someone try to make you choose, you must remember your initial intention and discern which one is useful and which one is not”
“You could even mix and match it if its suitable”
Arthur smiles and shakes his head
“That is a lengthy lecture.”
“I know you would listen”
Ahmad sighed for a moment and then added
“And Arturia needs it. The world is about to get into chaos. It is better we close the island until the matter in Pandemonium is solved. And if it is not solved, it would take decades to solve. Who knows how long it would take Death Monarch to return? Or that he would even return?”
“However, I need to remind you. That this…. this is the problem of the old era. We do not live in that old era anymore”
“We live in a new world”
“A new world where gods walked the world with mortals. The gods do not live high in the sky, in some abode of mountains or a patch of clouds. They live among us, walk among us and when they are angered, the heaven and earth cracks open.”
“Where every little god could exterminate tens of thousands of people alone, could raze and destroy every town they wandered, a new set of rules and new laws need to be created. And these laws need to be enforced. An unenforced law is as good as no law at all”
“In these chaotic times, a firm hand is needed to bring order”
“Order needs to be brought first before one could argue about other rights”
Arthur listens and he nodded.
And he could not help but sigh
He did not agree with everything Ahmad is saying nor does he agree with everything he taught him
Ahmad is his Prime Minister.
Arthur is a king.
His Prime Minister and his advisor have changed a lot.
There is a reason for this change. He had gone to many different worlds and experienced many things and see many things.
Others seek power in different worlds or enjoy the scenery.
After all, the World Council has established guidelines when entering other worlds.
You can’t just change it if you want. Your arrogance might cost that world their future.
Sometimes, civilizations had to learn the hard way for them to have a chance to survive at all.
Hence, most of the time, unless it is an apocalyptic world where every order had crumbled and the world itself is now experiencing calamity of the world ending type, the World Council guidance on how to navigate a life in different world is to think of yourself as a wanderer and just take in the sights and learn what you should learn.
Some people go to these other worlds to investigate magic. His Prime Minister, on the other hand, studied their governance.
Hence, he had his own thoughts about it.
Arthur does admit after getting back from his trip, the governance of the city has become better
There is order in the streets and the pirates and knights alike follow the rules and laws.
There is still a few fights here and there but since the enforcement of the law is really strict, this kind of problem could be eradicated in a few more months according to projection
All of it is thanks to his Prime Minister.
And as for why he is lecturing him right now, it is nothing more than the fact that the current position of the vassals of Pandemonium is quite precarious.
Since the civil war happened between Wang Jian and Sina, Arthur demoted himself to the Lord of Arturia.
Why?
Because there is a political struggle in Pandemonium now amidst the war between the two forces
If the war between these two is quickly resolved, it might not have spilled out from the borders of Pandemonium.
But since those two could not overwhelm the others in Pandemonium, both of them began seeking outside help
These two both holds great power in Pandemonium.
Wang Jian wins the support of the military, and he commanded all the three great military forces in the land of Pandemonium.
Sina the one who could tilt the balance to Wang Jian suddenly sided with Sasha. Though instead of saying she sided with Sasha it is more that she sided with the court.
Sina has no conflict of interest.
Her interest has always been Death Monarch interest.
If one had to categorize her, she would be in the royalist faction
On the monarch side instead of on Sasha side.
Those two does share great connection but Ahamd reasoned that Sina loves Death Monarch like a brother.
And she would not let either Wang Jian or Sasha destroy her brother hard work crumbles.
That is why the battle between those two could be said to be gentlemanly.
There is no attack on the cities and there is no great massacre of villages and kingdoms in the vast land of Pandemonium.
There are still chaos and disorder but there is no case of a military force razing down a city or a kingdom in Pandemonium
But that did not mean there is no casualties.
There is killing between the soldiers of Sasha and Wang Jian.
Wang Jian has won the support of the military while Sasha had won the support of the civil officials that has always hated the military control of Wang Jian.
The civil officials believe that the instability of the court without Death Monarch has a lot to do with the military power controlled only by three people that they could become king of their regions.
Even though they are called general and have great titles they are more like emperors with all the kingdoms of their regions obeying their orders
Is that not an emperor?
All kings pay homage and tribute.
That is an emperor, alright
The central government and the other regions. This hidden danger also erupts and that is why they supported Sasha
The civil officials always believed in the righteousness of the cause of politics.
It means a legitimate reason is important.
And a legitimate cause is as important as the legitimate reason.
Regardless of what rhetoric Wang Jian spouts, righteousness is in Sasha hand. What does it mean?
Death Monarch entrusted Sasha with his clone.
That is righteousness of cause.
Regardless of whether that Death Monarch in Pandemonium is a clone or not, the fact was that Death Monarch gives her that clone.
It means her position is legitimate and she is the legitimate ruler of Pandemonium for now
