Lord Shadow - Chapter 1987 1987: The World Government

If the High Chancellor of the Republic clashed with the Divine General of the World Government, that simple clash would no longe be just simple.

It would seem like the two world powers are about to go to war.

It would be a political and geopolitical matter.

Duels between the top-level fighter of the world powers is no longer so simple like in the beginning where Deah Monarch could fight the fighters of the World Government and did not have his men interpreting his actions.

When the organization is this large, a simple action could create unintended consequences.

The closest example is Jean. If Jean wanted to, he could kill very senator and took control of the Senate.

He alone is enough to stage a coup. But he did not do it. Because then he would be a wanted man.

And an enemy of all the world powers.

After all, even if he is powerful, he alone could not withstand the power of all seven great powers

Katarina once felt Jean power.

That power to control time and space could even affect her. Under his domain, she would be helpless.

Time would not be on her side if she fought against Jean

That power alone made her feel helpless. But her and Jean have always been in cooperation and friendly so, she never felt fear.

And in the case that Jean fought against the Seven World Powers, if Azief is not there and no other Divine Comprehension leveler is present in that war, Jean alone even though he could not defeat the combined might of the seven world powers, it is estimated, he could kill billions of men alone and the damage that he could inflict is truly massive and impactful

She once saw a projection of such scenario. She felt awe at that time.

But not fear.

Today, however, once she felt that brief moment of the energy of the Essence Creation realm passing over her, she felt something else.

Incomprehension

That brief moment made her unable to even think. Despairing. A breath is enough to invoke such emotion

If Azief released his entire power, who in the world could even take a hit?

Azief looks back and smiles at Katarina

“I’m sick. Not dead. I am still very much the strongest person in the world” he said it like he could tell what Katarina is thinking.

Azief smiles. Sometimes, he also wanted to show off in front of his girlfriend

Azief took Katarina hand and the moment he did the space and time around them almost breaks and Azief disappeared from the island like he was never there

The door opens horizontally and someone comes out of the room. The door itself is quite futuristic. It is the kind of door you would see in Battlestar or one you would expect to see in a sci fi series

Wearing a white robe with a horizontal pattern design, someone strode out from the room. He shakes his head and sighs

Outside the room, there is a Caucasian person waiting

The one coming out of the room has Asian feature. He is tall, reaching almost seven feet tall and there is an energy radiating out of him

The Caucasian man looks at this person and bows slightly. The Asian man could only sigh.

Then the white man asks

“How is it?”

“He is back. Truly back”

“You are sure of this? Not a clone? Not a substitute? Not some actor or transfiguration method?”

“I am sure. I would not mistake it. The error of such mistakes is negligible. If you don’t believe me, then you would not come to me to ask”

For a moment they stood around the entrance of the door.

“I use the device and I could trace it. It was just a brief moment. But it was his aura. He is really back” the Caucasian men narrow his eyes

“You’re not lying, are you?”

“I am not” the Caucasian men then begin pacing the room

“Should we send people to the island?” They both sighed and they looked at each other and there was a bitter smile

The one with the Asian feature is none other than Hirate.

Hirate the President of the World Government. In the past couple of years there is a lot of changes in the world, and the World Government has also changed a lot.

There are many crises and there are many hardships that had happened, but nothing had shaken the World Government more than what happens in the past twenty years

It shakes the World Government to the core and the relationship between the factions in the World Government has also changed a lot.

And it is not only the World Government that had changed

He also had changed a lot after twenty years. He is not only taller, but his features also changed a bit, and he appears to be wiser and even more dangerous than before

He now sports a beard, but this beard makes him even more charismatic and there is a scar on his right cheek.

The reason is simple.

If it’s based on Hirate insistence, it means he has a grudge against someone and he left the scar to remind himself. If it’s the latter, then this scar is no ordinary scar. If you could not remove it, it means the magic that binds this wound seep deep into the soul

Or…it could be a curse and if that is the case, then that is the reason why it could not be removed.

But probably no one would even dare ask what that scar is and what kind of scar that is in front of Hirate.

As for the Caucasians man, it is none other than Nick, the Eye of God, one of the most accurate snipers in the world

His assassination was all legendary.

These two people are now meeting and discussing about someone the moment Hirate comes out of the room

What kind of room that made Hirate is so confident and what kind of room that made Nick, who clearly did not trust Hirate, finally let down his guard and decided to believe Hirate

The room that Hirate just came out of is the Cerebral Enhancement device room

Hirate and Nick quickly walked out of the room.

This room is located on one of the World Government black sites.

It is a secret place and not located on the map. And even then, it is covered up by all kinds of concealing formation and spells

Hirate and Nick both have their thoughts right now

Nick did not say anything and so does Hirate.

But both of them are probably thinking about many things

They walk calmly and both did not use any speed running to quickly get out of this facility.

There are still a lot of things that need to be said and there is still a lot of questions between them

Nor is there any need to quickly rush out. These two meetings together is rare now.

But they are still superior and subordinate in the eyes of the world.

But in the past twenty years, those who are under the Raymond faction is viewed differently from people in the Hirate faction.

And they are also division and realignment of factions and loyalties.

Clearly however they did not intend to engage in factional strife right now, this is not the time and place for such squabble.

Right now, they need time to think

“I never expected Arthur was telling the truth. I thought it would be plot from either Sasha or Wang Jian”

Nick suddenly said.

He also knows the rumors that Arthur said Death Monarch is in Arturia

And everyone could come visit.

If they goi they would surely see Death Monarch. But is it really the real Death Monarch or is it just another clone like the one in Sasha.

So, Nick did not do anything and did not respond. He fears whatever he chooses to do, it could backfire and not doing anything is good

Though decision does not really lie on him.

It lies on Hirate and the World Government.

Raymond himself did not communicate that much with the World Government these days and for those who follow him, they also did not know what Raymond is doing these days.

Even Hirate find it hard to know what Raymond schedules these days

Everyone knows he is on Earth

It is just that people don’t know where he is in the world. Add to the fact that he is a Divine Comprehension realm leveler and it is almost impossible to track him, this lack of communication unsettles many people in the Quorum

Raymond once had his position shaken when Jean broke through Divine Comprehension realm before.

Some of the members of the Quorum believe this is Raymond petty revenge.
