Chapter 1263 Reaping the Rewards (2)
While most of the people in the crowd watched Malutar swing his sword down on Valyr’s arm through splayed fingers, Thomas looked at the entire thing with a hint of nonchalance.
‘He’ll be fine,’ thought the man to himself as he had a calm expression on his face. After all, he could still remember the fact that his friend had pinned multiple monsters for him to the ground without even getting injured whatsoever.
If that wasn’t a sign that he could take a beating… then what other sign would there be?
‘…For some reason, I kind of understand why he took this approach.’
Bang!
Just as those words began to linger within Thomas’ mind, Malutar’s blade finally clashed with Valyr’s extended arm, prompting many among the crowd to close their eyes as they did not dare imagine the untimely outcome happening in their minds.
“What?!”
Yet, not even a moment after they thought the worst had happened, Malutar let out a yell filled with disbelief, forcing those same people to muster up the courage to look at what happened.
…Only to be left in utter disbelief just like Malutar himself.
“…Well, let’s just say I was expecting this to happen.” Letting out a slight chuckle as he took a glance at the crowd’s reactions, Valyr soon gave Malutar a smile as he slowly removed the man’s sword with his free arm.
Whoosh!
With that, the crowd was able to see what kind of damage Malutar had dealt to Valyr, only to be left at a further loss for words when they found out that the man’s strongest attack…
Merely amounted to a slightly deep gash on the young man’s skin!
“…” Though he felt a bit annoyed at the fact that his strongest attack didn’t even do that much damage to Valyr, Malutar’s rationality instantly told him that there was undoubtedly more to the young man in front of him than meets the eye.
Thus, with a hint of wariness in his eyes, the main remained silent as he glanced at Valyr. At the same time, he grew curious as to what kind of product he and his friend planned on introducing.
“I’m sure everyone’s curious to know more about how I did that.” Giving Malutar a faint nod as a way of saying thanks for accepting his request, Valyr soon shifted his focus towards the crowd with a slightly teasing grin.
“But that’s not the reason why my friend and I came here.”
Whoosh!
“Instead, if you still remember what I said just earlier, we plan to show you guys something that might pique your interest.”
At those words, Valyr brought out one of the beauty elixirs he’d made out of his spatial bracelet, giving everyone in the crowd an opportunity to get a look.
After that, he then went ahead and poured a couple of drops of it onto the gash, making sure that the elixir covered it in its entirety.
Swish! Swish! Swish!
Then, with the slightly injured arm pointed downwards, Valyr allowed everyone in the crowd to see the effects of the beauty elixir firsthand, who immediately took note of the fact that the gash Malutar dealt disappeared without a trace within seconds.
However, rather than stop there, the skin covered by the elixir soon had a layer of black gunk appear on it, causing some of the people throughout the crowd to look away in slight disgust.
Slightly shaking his head at these people as he briefly chuckled, the young man then gave the elixir a bit more time, allowing the layer of black gunk to solidify before deciding to remove it with a swift wipe of his hand.
“Eh?” As the crowd watched Valyr apply the elixir onto the gash, the first thought most people had in their minds was that the young man was advertising a more effective healing elixir. After all, they hadn’t heard of a beauty elixir before.
Even when the applied area formed a layer of black gunk around it, most people still thought of the elixir he brought out as some sort of healing elixir that merely took a different approach to the healing process.
Though, once they saw what happened to the gash after Valyr removed the black gunk on his skin, the people weren’t sure whether to call the elixir he brought out as healing elixir anymore.
Although it did thoroughly remove the gash Malutar inflicted like any other healing elixir, the skin where the elixir was applied looked as if it was the skin of a newborn baby, devoid of any blemishes or unsightly spots that one would obtain throughout the years.
Aside from that, the affected skin looked slightly whiter thanks to it having no layers of dead skin on it whatsoever, making it stand out in comparison to the normal skin surrounding it.
Seeing that he had successfully caught the attention of everyone in the crowd with his gimmick, Valyr slowly turned around to give everyone an opportunity at the elixir’s effects as he opened his mouth.
“As you can see, the elixir I brought out removes the gash so effectively that even turns the skin back to how it originally looked like.”
“However, the elixir doesn’t only work on wounds,” continued the young man, his tone confident. “It also works on pimples, scar marks, blemishes, and other sorts of unsightly spots on your skin, removing them all without leaving a trace whatsoever.”
“In fact, it even works on your hair!”
Hearing those words, a great majority of the crowd immediately understood what kind of product Valyr was trying to advertise.
To no surprise, a small portion of people from the crowd left after that, having been intrigued by the elixir Valyr briefly mentioned in the forum post he’d made. Now that they found out that he was advertising nothing more than some beautification elixir, these people decided to return to what they were doing before, reminding themselves of the reasons why they entered Greater Beyond in the first place.
As for those that remained, the existence of the beauty elixir continued to intrigue many of them, with some even coming up to ask Valyr if it was possible to test a small bit of the elixir for themselves.
Of course, the young man agreed to their requests, knowing that it was a great opportunity for him to make sure word of the beauty elixir they were selling spread even further.
Whoosh! Whoosh!
And thus, just like the gash Malutar had inflicted to his arm, the various areas these people had opted to test the elixir on looked far greater than even before after removing the gunk.
There were even some people who tried a bit of it on their hair, instantly being left at a loss for words after seeing the luscious locks that grew on the affected area.
“For those interested on getting their hands on this elixir, you could get a vial of your own for the small price of 5 silver.” Making the most out of the attention he’d generated from the entire thing, Valyr decided now was a good opportunity to tell them how much the elixirs cost.
“Speaking of which, we also sell a more basic version that only costs 2 silver. The only downside is that it takes a couple of hours for that elixir to take effect.”
Fortunately, those words were enough for a considerable portion of the people to make their minds up, forking out a couple of their own silver coins to get their hands on the seemingly miraculous vial.
And with that, the two began to profit.
