Chapter 1264 Reaping the Rewards (3)
“Unfortunately, that’s all of the vials we have for today.”
“We’ll let everyone know through the forums when we have enough stock to sell again. Also, we’d highly appreciate it if you share the word about this elixir with the others!”
With Valyr showing no hesitation in having a volunteer at Rank 1 land a hit on his arm at full strength, the small gamble he made eventually paid off the moment he showed off the effects of the beauty elixir they made.
Although the prices he advertised were considerably higher than what many in the crowd could afford at that time, many of them had a strong feeling that such an elixir would become more expensive as the player economy grew over time.
After all, even if the players didn’t have a use for the beauty elixir themselves, that didn’t mean the NPCs throughout the world of Greater Beyond wouldn’t have a use for it either.
With that, whether it was for their own sake or for the sake of the future the beauty elixirs held, a lot of players went ahead and bought some of the beauty elixirs for themselves, with a few of them even going so far as to use it on the spot.
Because of that, a slight snowball effect happened, with some players and NPCs that saw the beauty elixirs take effect in real time deciding to head to where Valyr was to get a vial or two of their own.
Aside from that, considering the fact that he told everyone in his forum post that he was willing to have others beat him up, a few people still came up to where Valyr and Thomas were in the hopes of getting an opportunity to land a free hit on the young man.
Though, just like Malutar, many of them were left at a complete loss for words when they saw that even the strongest hits they landed on him merely amounted to a surface wound at most.
In the end, although it took them a couple of days in total to level themselves up to Level 10, procure the materials they needed, and concoct the elixirs after that, it only took a few hours in comparison for almost all of the beauty elixirs they made to be sold.
“Thank you again, everyone!” said Valyr with a slight grin on his face. “Once again, if you could spread the word about the elixirs, I’d highly appreciate it!”
Receiving a few positive answers from the various people that came to see them here and there in response, the two waved farewell to them as they were eventually left on their own at the center of the village.
“Ataraxia, right?” Unexpectedly, just as the two planned on heading back to the inn after the massive success they had in selling the elixirs, Malutar appeared in front of them with a calm expression. “Mind if I add you to my friend list?”
“Malutar?” Listening to his words, Valyr soon let out a chuckle as he nodded. “Of course. I don’t mind.”
“Though, I’m guessing this has nothing to do with the beauty elixir, right?”
In response, Malutar merely looked back at Valyr with a smile before interacting with the screen he brought up.
Ding!
[Malutar (Lvl. 13) has sent you a friend request.]
Accepting the request without much questions, Valyr soon watched Malutar add Thomas to his friend list, immediately letting out a bit of laughter the moment his friend had to tell the man his actual in-game name to be added.
“You’ve definitely widened my horizons this time, Ataraxia. GodKing.” Donning a faint smile after he’d added the two of them, Malutar eventually waved goodbye to the two of them. “With the two of you at Level 10, surely you two wouldn’t reject heading to the Cave of Beginnings in the future with me, no?”
“Of course not. Just send us a message anytime,” replied Valyr with a smile, waving back goodbye as he watched the man’s silhouette slowly disappear from their field of vision.
“Shall we head back to the inn?” Letting out a faint sigh of relief as he briefly thought about what happened earlier, Valyr soon looked at Thomas with a wide smile on his face.
“Let’s go,” replied Thomas, donning a wide smile of his own.
…
“Hahahaha! We’re rich! We’re filthy rich!”
Unsurprisingly, at the very moment the two of them got back to the room they were renting, Thomas immediately began to cackle with immense glee.
“This is just the start,” said Valyr with a slight chuckle, amused as he continued to watch Thomas move around the room with excitement. “As long as the word spreads and we make sure to keep it in stock, our profits will grow even further later down the line.”
“Speaking of which, how much did we earn today?”
“Er… I haven’t exactly checked it yet.” Pausing his excitement for a bit, Thomas briefly glanced at their earnings for the day before asking Valyr a question. “Do you know how much elixirs we sold today?”
“If I can remember correctly, we started off with roughly 300 of the deluxe elixirs and 500 of the basic elixirs,” replied Valyr, the gears in his mind turning as he took a look inside his spatial bracelet.
“There’s only about 50 of the deluxe elixirs here and 200 of the basic elixirs left.”
“Hmm… yeah. Sounds about right.” Donning a calm expression as he counted the amount of coins they’ve earned from selling the elixirs, Thomas soon looked at Valyr with a wide grin on his face.
“Without taking other costs into consideration, we’ve earned a total of 1,866 silver coins.”
“That’s a lot more than I was expecting.” Valyr briefly whistled in surprise. “What’s the current currency exchange rate?”
“Er… 3 silver coins for 2 Deltas,” replied Thomas as he brought up a screen beside him. “If we convert all of our earnings just now into Deltas, even if we take into consideration the conversion fee, we’d still be looking at over 1,000 Deltas.”
“That much, huh?” At those words, it was now Valyr’s turn to let out a cackle filled with excitement.
“We’ve definitely made a killing today.”
