Chapter 1269 Three Revolutions, Nine Cycles
With that in mind, Valyr went ahead and got himself into a more comfortable position.
Closing his eyes, he then took in a calming breath as he allowed all of his senses to better attune themselves with the existence of mana.
“[Three Revolutions, Nine Cycles].”
Whoosh!
Activating his mana circuit skill without hesitation, Valyr soon felt a burning sensation come from the mana in his body, briefly reminding of the previous time he activated the skill.
With that, he pretty much knew what would happen next during its activation process, gritting his teeth for a minute or so as the burning sensation from the mana gradually became more and more unbearable.
Fortunately, just like the first time, the unnerving sensation only lasted for a few seconds at most.
In its place was the sensation of his burning mana finally stabilizing, coursing throughout his body at great speeds as the energy seemed to contain more power than ever before.
Although he already knew what the skill did to his mana and what it felt like using the burning mana as an energy source for his spells, Valyr decided to keep the mana circuit active for a while.
With all of his senses focused towards all of the changes that happened to his mana through the skill, the young man gradually forget the passage of time, spending all of it on better familiarizing himself with the sensation brought about by the skill.
By the time he felt like an hour or so had passed since he decided to further inspect the changed mana, it was only then did Valyr open his eyes once more, quickly realizing that he had spent more than just an hour focusing his senses on it.
“Then again, it’s not like I spent all of that time for nothing,” muttered the young man to himself, letting out a chuckle as he deactivated his mana circuit after that.
Feeling the mana in his body gradually return to his previous state, he then went ahead and brought up the skill’s description as he recalled a few pieces of information about mana circuits from his mage friends in the past.
“If I remember what they told me correctly, although mana circuits have levels just like any other skills, the actual way to improve their performance is through increasing one’s mastery of it,” said Valyr to himself, easily confirming his words as a screen appeared in front of him.
Ding!

[Three Revolutions, Nine Cycles] (Level 1/40)
Rarity: Epic
During ancient times, there was a being known by many as the Grand Sage. Having… description has been omitted.
This skill allows the user to form a mana circuit that would allow mana to cycle throughout their bodies at an incredibly fast rate, improving the rate at which they regain mana, the damage their magic spells deal, as well as the speed at which they could cast these spells again.
This improvement is highly dependent on the level of mastery and familiarity the user has with the mana circuit. This skill has a total of 10 stages, with each stage considerably more difficult than the last.
However, once mastered to its final stage, one would be able to see a faint glimpse of the mana circuit that the Grand Sage had created, unleashing a level of might that many would only look at with envy and awe.
Current mastery stage: None
Current effects (while active):
> 10% increase to performance of all magic spells
> 5% reduction to cost of all magic spells
> 5% reduction to cooldown duration of all magic spells ————
“10 stages…” As he read through the skill’s description, Valyr immediately sucked in a breath of cold air as he found out how many stages he had to go through if he wanted to see his mana circuit at its strongest.
From what his mage friends told him in the past, it was normal for mana circuits to have 3 stages of mastery, with the more powerful ones having around 5.
As for the mana circuits touted by many to be one of the top mana circuits to have, those ones had around 7 or 8 stages. Yet, those mana circuits still paled in comparison to the mythical mana circuits that had 9 stages of mastery, the might one could unleash at the highest level possibly enough to leave even those at the Divine level at a loss for words.
“And you’re telling me I got my hands on a mana circuit that has 10 stages of mastery just because Mystia decided to give it to me?” As those words left his mouth, Valyr could not help but let out a bit of laughter.
“Connections truly are everything sometimes.”
“In any case, for a mana circuit that has 10 stages in total, it’s surprising that it’s only Epic grade,” continued the young man, recalling that his mage friends told him that those that had 7 stages or greater were usually Legendary grade at the very least.
“Is it because it’s incomplete?” wondered Valyr, recalling the story contained within the skill’s description. “Or is it current grade because of some other factor?”
Curious as to what the actual answer was, the young man went ahead and brought up all the information he obtained from absorbing the skill, allowing him to go through the various stages of mastery in greater detail.
“I see…” Closing his eyes in order to hasten his understanding on how he’d increase his mastery of the skill, Valyr eventually opened his eyes as he let out a bitter chuckle not long after.
“I think I’ve got my answer.”
At first, Valyr became excited once he found out the effects the mana circuit had once he began to trek the path of greater mastery. In fact, the effects the mana circuit had at the highest level of mastery made him want to wholeheartedly focus on achieving it.
However, once he shifted his focus towards the process of attaining that level of mastery in the first place, the excitement he once held immediately disappeared. Instead, a hint of despair took its place as the number of steps needed to reach the highest level could only be described the absurdest of the absurd.
“I guess that’s why he’s called the Grand Sage,” murmured Valyr to himself with a sardonic smile.
“Because there’s no fucking way I’d make a mana circuit skill like this that makes strengthening yourself seem like utter torture.”
