Slowly opening his eyes the moment he fully dove into the water, Valyr was slightly surprised to see that there were faint streaks of iridescent light within the water.
Wondering if the light he was seeing had the same effect as the iridescent sheen that covered the water’s surface, the young man went ahead and focused his attention on it as he shifted his train of thought towards one of the concepts he had comprehended.

As if that slight change in mindset acted as a catalyst of sorts, the streaks of iridescent light began to gather around him, only to then send a good chunk of insights regarding the concept he was trying to comprehend.
‘We’ve yet to head down to the deeper layers, but to think that the effects of plunging into the Surface is already this good,’ thought Valyr to himself as he inwardly let out a small chuckle.
Testing out a few more things to get a better idea of how the Ocean of Crystallized Truths helped improve his comprehension speed, the young man soon went ahead and closed his eyes for a bit, acclimating himself to his current environment.
After all, though plunging into the Surface already gave him far better and far more insights than what he obtained from just looking at it, both he and his other self knew that the effects here were merely the beginning of what was to come.
‘How is it?’
Just as Valyr had gotten used to the feeling of being underwater, Ataraxia made his way towards him and sent him a message through [Soul Entanglement].
‘To think there’d be this much of a difference,’ said the young man in response to the question, prompting the latter to let out a brief chuckle the moment he heard it.
‘Yeah.’ Ataraxia nodded in agreement. ‘Just plunging into the Surface alone already increased the quality and quantity of insights I got by like 10 times.’
‘And that’s just during the brief moment I decided to test the ocean’s effects.’
‘…Speaking of the ocean’s effects, you’ve noticed the streaks of light around us, right?’ he asked. ‘I’ve got a feeling these streaks of light are where our insights come from.’
‘Already noted that down, actually,’ replied Valyr, giving his other self a brief explanation of what he witnessed when he tried to comprehend one of his concepts.
‘In fact, I have a good feeling the quantity and quality of our insights has something to do with our proximity and the number of iridescent streaks surrounding us.’
‘However, the only way to find out if that’s true is if we go and check the Shallows,’ said the young man after that, to which Ataraxia responded with an eager look.
‘So far, we’re only a couple meters deep into the ocean,’ said the latter as he gave his other self a brief glance. ‘According to what the guard told us, once we reach a depth of 20 meters, we would have officially entered the Shallows.’
‘And the Depths is around 10 times that distance, right?’ asked Valyr for confirmation.
Ataraxia shrugged his shoulders in response. ‘He said it starts at 100 meters, but we’ll find that out for ourselves sooner or later.’
‘True.’ Valyr faintly nodded, only to then shift his attention towards the water below them.
Though he hadn’t taken note of it at first, the more he looked into the depths of the Ocean of Crystallized Truths, the more he noticed that the water that made up the lower layers did not look like water at all.
After all, if one were to peer into a normal ocean, there would come a point where one would only be greeted by darkness after reaching a certain depth.
Yet, while peering into the deeper layers of the ocean, Valyr noticed that the iridescent streaks became more prominent in the deeper layers.
In fact, he had a feeling that there would come a point in their dive where the ocean surrounding them would just be replaced entirely with the iridescent streaks of light.
‘I suppose that part would be the Abyss or the Core layer,’ thought the young man to himself, now feeling a hint of curiosity towards the lower layers after finishing his train of thought.
Talking a bit more with his other self regarding their plans on how they’d maximize their gains while in the Ocean of Crystallized Truths, both Valyr and Ataraxia soon proceeded to dive deeper into the ocean, surpassing a depth of 10 meters in a matter of seconds.
Then, as if they were moving on land, the two increased their depth to around 30 meters not long after, prompting the two to stop as they assessed the difference between the Shallows and the Surface.
‘How does it feel?’ asked Valyr, immediately noticing that the amount of iridescent streaks surrounding them was at least three times greater than that on the surface.
‘Amazing,’ replied Ataraxia after a bit of silence as he let out a gasp of admiration through their connection. ‘I tried focusing my thoughts towards my [Intent Seed of True Mana] for a bit.’
‘How did that go?’
‘I feel like I’d be able to push it to the Culmination stage in like half a day,’ said the young man without a shred of doubt.
‘And just before you ask… no. I didn’t use [Perception of the Grand Origin] while trying to comprehend it.’
‘…Wait.’ Though Ataraxia’s words made him want to start comprehending his own concepts, Valyr decided to approach the current situation from a more objective standpoint, spending a bit of time to compose himself.
‘What stage is your [Intent Seed of True Mana] again?’
‘Nascent stage.’ Ataraxia wryly smiled at the question. ‘Pretty much neglected it after evolving my main class.’
‘You have another Intent Seed, right?’ asked Valyr after that. ‘The [Intent Seed of Spell Control], if I remember correctly.’
‘Yeah.’ Hearing those words, the former immediately understood what his other self wanted to know. ‘Took me a week and a half to push it to the Culmination stage just with the help of [Perception of the Grand Origin].’
‘Alright.’ Nodding in response to Ataraxia’s words, Valyr went silent for a bit as the gears in his mind began to turn. ‘You mentioned just now that you feel like it would only take half a day for you to push one of your Intent Seeds from the Nascent stage to the Culmination stage.’
‘On the other hand, it took you roughly 10 days to push your other Intent Seed to the Culmination stage with just the skill we got from the Administrators.’
As Ataraxia heard those words through their connection, the young man noticed his other self looking at him. ‘Correct me if I’m wrong, but comprehending concepts in this layer is 20 times faster.’
‘And that’s without [Perception of the Grand Origin] activated.’
‘What if we were to head to the Depths?’ asked Valyr after that, his eyes gleaming with both anticipation and madness. ‘What if we activated the skill while comprehending concepts at the Depths?’
‘No point thinking about what-ifs,’ said Ataraxia in response, only give his other self a slight grin.
‘After all, there’s only one way to find out.’
