MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith - Chapter 1734 1734: The New Member

“Coming!”
Whoosh!
Just as Ataraxia was contemplating what kind of reaction he should give in response to Mystia’s words, a large blob of iridescent energy appeared in front of the trio all of a sudden before taking on the form of Marcus.
“Well, well, well…” Briefly giving Mystia a slight smile, the latter soon gave Valyr a nod before focusing his attention towards the only newcomer within the plane.
“Who do we have here?”
“He’s my student,” replied Valyr, having no choice but to keep up the facade between them. “I promised Miss Mystia back then that I would rope my student into the Mystic Plane in exchange for some items.”
The man faintly nodded in understanding, only to then raise his eyebrow soon after. “You’ve come here to uphold your side of the deal, then?”
Valyr nodded in response.
Nodding once more, Marcus soon returned his attention back to Ataraxia, giving the young man a comforting smile. “Were you forced into doing this?”
“Not at all.” The latter shook his head, not minding having to repeat what he told Mystia to the man in front of him. “Teacher informed me everything I needed to know beforehand.”
“Even before accepting me as his student, he told that this was one of the conditions I had to accept since I would be obtaining more than just his tutelage in exchange,” he added.
“Do you have any complaints with becoming a part of the Mystic Plane, then?” Though his position as the plane’s Overseer had already made him privy to the conversation the three previously had, Marcus felt it was worth repeating the question to the young man.
After all, from a certain perspective, it looked like the latter was given no choice but to accept.
Fortunately, Ataraxia made it clear once more that he had no qualms with it, only to then show curiosity towards the Mystic Plane and what becoming a part actually entailed.
Then again, considering that he already knew what would happen thanks to him and Valyr sharing memories, he felt a bit of annoyance towards putting up yet another facade.
Sadly, neither Mystia nor Marcus knew of the true connection both he and Valyr had.
Nevertheless, with Ataraxia continuing to reassure the two of them that he was fully on board with becoming a part of the Mystic Plane, both Marcus and Mystia decided not to delay it any further.
“Although your identity as Valyr’s student gives me enough reason to appoint you with a high-ranking position within the Mystic Plane, it would be more correct to say that the Mystic Plane does not have all of its high-ranking positions filled yet.”
“…Or rather, only the highest ranking positions of the plane have only begun to be filled,” said Marcus, letting out a self-deprecating chuckle.
“With that being said, would it be possible for you to show me a part of your combat strength?” he continued, only to then give Valyr a brief glance.
Seeing the latter raise his eyebrow in response to his gaze, the man decided to explain his train of thought. “It’s not that I don’t believe in Valyr’s abilities to teach students.”
“As someone who could already unleash Myth-level combat strength before even becoming a Legend, being able to replicate a certain part of it in another person wouldn’t be that difficult for him.”
“It more so has to do with the position I plan on giving you, which needs you to have a certain level of combat strength in order to be truly worthy of having it.”
As he noticed the three giving him somewhat odd gazes, Marcus could not help but shrug his shoulders. “Of course, if you don’t reach the level that I have in mind, I’d still give you a high-ranking position.”
“However, it wouldn’t be one of the director-level positions anymore like what Mystia and Valyr have,” he continued, giving the duo in question a brief glance. “Instead, I’d give you one of the positions directly below theirs… which isn’t really all that bad.”
Briefly looking at Valyr to see what he thought about the entire thing, Ataraxia soon received a couple of thoughts from his other self through the connection, which caused a slight smile to appear on his lips the moment he was done going through them.
‘In situations like these, it’s a shame [Descent of the Arcane Supreme] is on cooldown,’ he said to Valyr through [Soul Entanglement], inwardly letting out a chuckle. ‘Imagine if they found out that the student was the stronger one between the two.’
‘Would have definitely made them start questioning their existences, that’s for sure,’ replied the latter, inwardly letting out a bit of laughter in amusement. ‘In any case, it’s up to you on how much you plan on showing them.’
‘But of course, showing more always yields better results in cases like these.’
‘If that’s the case, then there’s nothing to worry about,’ said Ataraxia in response, beginning to activate the buffing skills he had in his arsenal.
‘I only plan to stop just on the brink of going all-out.’
Whoosh!
At the very moment Ataraxia unleashed his aura in front of both Marcus and Mystia, the two were immediately left stunned once they realized that his aura did not lose out to Valyr in any way.
Though the words she said earlier were merely to attract Marcus’ attention, it was at this moment did Mystia truly feel that Valyr had snagged a gem for the Mystic Plane this time around.
As for the Overseer of the Mystic Plane, seeing that the young man’s strength was already somewhat on par with what Valyr had shown them in the past, he already felt it was more than worth to give the position he had in mind to the young man.
However, just as he thought that there was nothing else to see…
‘[Soul Unification: 50% Fusion]!’
Swoosh!
Out of nowhere, the young man’s aura underwent a massive transformation, making the two feel as if they were looking an entity that had touched upon the next major realm of existence.
Fortunately, that sensation only lasted for a brief moment, prompting both Mystia and Marcus to stare at each other for a bit before eventually coming up with the same thought in mind.
‘Valyr’s really snagged a gem for us this time!’
