MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith - Chapter 1747: Upgrading a Subclass (5)

Whoosh!
Just as Valyr’s system was finished quantifying all of the gains he’d obtained from both of his subclasses becoming more effective, a rift appeared in front of them all of a sudden.
“Whew…” Stepping out of the rift, a look of relief and exhaustion appeared on Mystia’s face as she spared a brief glance at Valyr and the others.
Sensing the slight changes that happened to Valyr and Ataraxia, the expression on her face changed to that of curiosity as she asked, “Second subclass?”
“A bit more, actually,” replied the former of the two whilst his other self nodded at the question.
Knowing that the latter would ask him more about it, the young man pointed at Marcus as he continued, “Marcus thought that it was a good idea to spend some of the plane’s authority to upgrade one of my titles and give me another one that improves my subclasses.”
Hearing those words, the question that Mystia planned to ask stopped before it left her mouth as she gave the man in question a questioning gaze.
“…What?” Feeling like he was being wronged for some reason, Marcus immediately took it upon himself to clear the confusion as he waved his hands in innocence. “I felt like I should do it after what Valyr’s done for the Mystic Plane.”
“I know,” she replied, her eyebrow still raised. “But how far did you go?”
“Er…”
“Either you tell me or I ask Valyr,” said Mystia, her expression serious after seeing the hesitation on Marcus’ face. “And even if you don’t tell me, I can clearly tell that the Mystic Plane has become a bit dimmer compared to when I left.”
“…Alright.” Faintly letting out a sigh in response to her words, the latter finally told her what she wanted to know, going a bit into detail on what he had given Valyr under the guise of it being ‘a little bit extra’.
Though she remained silent throughout the entire explanation, Mystia’s eyes still widened in surprise after hearing the effects of the titles the young man received, eventually settling to the previous calm she had by the time he was done.
“Now that wasn’t so hard, was it?” Closing her eyes for a bit as she gave the entire thing a bit more thought, the woman looked at Marcus after that as she gave him a slight smile.
Turning to look at Valyr after that, she gave him a look of curiosity as she asked, “Did your stats go up a lot?”
“Only a bit,” said the young man after some time, his gaze briefly going over the notifications he received from the system.
Ding!
[The amount of stats you gain from your subclass ‘Four Paths Azure Warlord’ has reached 110% efficacy.]
[This increase has been retroactively applied.]
[You have gained +31 VIT, +31 STR, +56 AGI, +36 DEX, and +36 INT.]
[The amount of stats you gain from your subclass ‘Mystic Rune Alchemist’ has reached 100% efficacy, equaling that of a main subclass.]
[This increase has been retroactively applied.]
[You have gained +36 INT, +21 WIS, and +15 PER.]
Knowing that the changes brought by the titles would only come to fruition by the time he reached the peak of Rank 5, the young man went ahead and closed the screen he brought up as he shifted the topic to something else.
“Did you get the materials, Miss Mystia?”
“Of course, I did,” replied the woman in question, a faint smile adorning her face as she began to open a rift beside her. “How far are you planning to upgrade your subclass?”
“As far as it could possibly go,” answered Valyr in response.
Nodding at those words, Mystia then turned to look at Ataraxia. “How about you? Are you willing to step into the field of alchemy?”
“I’m willing,” said the latter in return, giving his other self a brief glance as the idea he shared earlier surfaced in his mind.
“Alright.”
Nodding once more, the woman went ahead and tipped the rift forward, causing piles upon piles of alchemical materials to appear in front of the small group.
As Valyr and the others took a few steps backward in response, the pile of alchemical materials continued to grow bigger in front of them, eventually reaching a height where its highest point stood over 10 meters.
“That’s… a lot of materials,” said Valyr after it looked like Mystia was done dumping everything out of her rift. “Is that why you took so long to get back, Miss Mystia?”
“Not really.” The latter shook her head at the question. “I had someone else collect all of the materials for me.”
“If anything, the reason why I took some time to get back was because I had to take care of some stuff related to the upcoming tournament,” she said, to which the young man nodded in understanding.
“Speaking of which, there’s only a couple of weeks left,” she continued after that, giving both Valyr and Ataraxia.
“We know.” Valyr nodded with a slight smile. “It’s partly why we’re here in the first place.”
“Though…” Thinking about how he’d head to the Meltierre Killing Grounds after he was done upgrading his second subclass, the young man decided to ask her a question along the topic.
“Remember how I asked if we could use the Meltierre Killing Grounds without any charge?”
“Mhm.” Mystia nodded, her eyebrow slightly raised. “And?”
“Would it be possible…” Deliberating on how he’d word his question to her, Valyr eventually decided to just get straight to the point. “…Would it be possible to fight against a Rank 7 being in the killing grounds?”
“…”
For a while after that, silence surrounded the entire group as a slight frown appeared on Mystia’s face.
Seeing this frown, Valyr immediately understood that he would receive a no as an answer.
However, just as he was preparing to receive a no from the woman in front of him…
“Well, it would take a lot of time…”
“…But it’s not like it’s impossible.”
