MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith - Chapter 1767 1767: The Path Forward

Unexpectedly, the system did not respond the moment the question was asking, showing Ataraxia that the question he asked was something that it did not factor into its calculations.
Of course, the only reason why the young man asked the question in the first place was in order to figure out what the system wanted him to do next with the Mystic Runes.
Then again, even if he didn’t ask the system for any input, he already had a plan in mind that would allow him to maximize what was possible with the concept.
Plus, with something like [Supreme Mystic Rune Deduction] under his belt, he was certain it wouldn’t be long until he pushed the concept of Mystic Runes to a whole other level.
Yet, he still asked the system for its expectations of him so that he’d be able to kill two birds with one stone.
After all, the previous task he did for the system already gave him great rewards. What more now that the system had a better idea of what his path entailed?
[There are three paths you could take now that the proposition has been completed.]
Looking at the screen in front of him with a slightly pensive expression, a string of words eventually appeared on it, its choice of words making it look like it had thought about the question for some time.
[The first path you could take is from the perspective of the ‘basic runes’.]
[With knowledge of the nine ‘basic runes’ that make up the compound Mystic Rune you’ve been researching, you could focus on increasing the number of ‘basic runes’ you could wield, improving the variety and possibility Mystic Runes have.]
[Taking prior conversations into consideration, a small goal you could set for yourself would be increasing the number of ‘basic runes’ you understand to around 50, perhaps even 100 if your abilities deem it feasible.]
Reading through the first suggestion the system gave him, Ataraxia quickly came to the conclusion that the idea was more or less the same plan he had in mind for the Mystic Runes.
After all, with the pitiful quantity of basic runes he currently knew, there was only so many combinations he could make with them before he’d make every iteration.
Only by increasing the number of basic runes he knew would he be able to tap into the true potential of Mystic Runes, considering that each Mystic Rune elevated a certain aspect to an absurdly high level.
[As for the second path you could take, you could say that it’s related to the first path the Apparatus gave as a suggestion.]
[The reason why the Apparatus says that is because the second path it has in mind is to further increase the detail of the basic framework you’ve created for the Mystic Runes, making use of the new Mystic Runes discovered to fill in the gaps.]
‘That’s also not far from what I had in mind,’ thought the young man to himself, faintly nodding in agreement with the system’s second suggestion.
Though the basic framework he had given the system earlier was already enough for someone else to make good use of Mystic Runes, there were still some parts of the framework that needed further polishing.
A good example of that would be the categorization of the basic runes, where the core purpose of each category was explained, yet the other miscellaneous purposes the categories could have remained unknown.
As long as he added more information to the basic framework and solidified its foundation even further, it would be far easier for the concept of Mystic Runes to reach unimaginable heights.
…Perhaps even reaching the rumored potential the system hinted to him the first time they discussed about the concept.
‘If I were to take the system’s suggestions into consideration, the two suggestions pretty much cover the entire plan I had in mind to develop Mystic Runes even further,’ muttered Ataraxia as he stared at the screen in curiosity.
‘With that being said, what kind of suggestion has the system saved for last?’
‘Is it the mass production of compound Mystic Runes? Or is it the application of Mystic Runes in other fields?’
As these question lingered within the young man’s mind, a new string of text soon appeared on the ancient-looking screen in front of him.
Curious as to whether any of the thoughts he just had aligned with the system’s final suggestion, Ataraxia’s expectations were immediately crushed the moment he understood that none of his ideas had hit the mark.
[For the final path you could take, consider it as a side expansion to the framework you’re currently creating for the Mystic Runes.]
[…For what the Apparatus suggests you to do is to categorize the various compound Mystic Runes one could create out of ‘basic runes’.]
“…”
“…Seriously?”
Seemingly taking note of the young man’s raised eyebrow as he asked in return, the system swiftly laid out its reasoning for the suggestion in front of him.
[Though it may seem unproductive and counterintuitive at first, the categorization of compound Mystic Runes would greatly aid you in the long term.]
[After all, the nine ‘basic runes’ you’ve comprehended are already enough for you to create a sizable number of compound Mystic Runes.]
[However, what if that number were to be increased to a hundred ‘basic runes’? A thousand? A million?]
[…If one were to consider the numerous amount of combinations one could make with the Mystic Runes later on, then the categorization of compound Mystic Runes becomes all the more paramount.]
[Even more so if one aims to focus on a certain subset of compound Mystic Runes.]
As those words flashed on screen, Ataraxia could not help but feel like those words were directed at him.
“…” Remaining silent as the system’s suggestions flashed through his mind one last time, the young man eventually let out a soft exhale as he gave the screen a slight nod.
“Alright, then. Guess I’ll aim to achieve those for the meantime.”
“But of course, there still remains the important question,” he said, his expression turning somewhat serious.
Though, before he could voice it out, the system was already one step ahead.
[Rest assured that the Apparatus shall properly compensate you for your efforts.]
[Though, do keep in mind that all of them shall be related to your identity as a Forerunner, whether it be in the form of skills or titles.]
[…But then again, the Apparatus can say with 80% certainty that the next milestone you reach shall have enough information to create a brand new class not yet seen in the universe.]
[And even if it falls slightly short, it would be more than enough to create a brand new subclass instead.]
[…]
[Keep it up, Forerunner.]
[The Apparatus never leaves any effort unrewarded.]
