Note: You don’t have to do this… or maybe you do. Depends on the goal you seek to achieve. But know that continuing to do so is probably the stupidest thing ever, especially if you consider the massive difference in strength.

“That is…”
“Hiss…”
By the time the two were done looking through the stats of the Elder Wyvern they had to face, both Valyr and Ataraxia could not help but suck in a cold breath of air.
After all, how were they going to surmount that big of a gap in strength?
’This is way harder than that fight against Erika,’ said Valyr through their connection, hopelessness briefly flashing through his eyes. ’And I only won that after using [Eyes of the Sagacious One] at the very last minute.’
’Would I even be able to pierce through that defense?’ asked Ataraxia as he looked through the status screen a couple more times. ’Even if I utilize all my buffs, I think I’d only be able to deal like a couple thousand damage at most.’
’Add the Damage Restriction System on top of that, and we might as well think I hadn’t dealt any damage to it at all.’
’With or without that one skill?’ Valyr raised his eyebrow at those words, feeling like there was something off about it.
’Without,’ Ataraxia clarified, understanding the train of thought his other self had. ’Of course, if I went truly all out, then I’d be able to deal a sizable chunk of damage to it.’
’But even then, it’s only like a few hundred thousand damage at most. It’s not enough to quickly end the fight, but it’s definitely enough to piss it off and attract its aggro.’
Though dishing out a few hundred thousand points of damage did not seem like much to the young man, such damage had already reached a level where one would be considered invincible below the Myth level.
And even then, with that kind of firepower, one would be able to give newly ascended Myths a run for their money. Perhaps, one could even catch peak Rank 6 beings off guard with that kind of might.
Yet, even though that was the case, that did not really give Ataraxia much confidence.
After all, the Elder Wyvern had over 10 million HP.
’I think it’s doable,’ Valyr reassured him, taking out a certain item from his spatial bracelet. ’Though I don’t know how much this would help out, I’m pretty sure you could take out a good chunk of its health with this, no?’
Turning to look at what his other self had brought out, Ataraxia’s eyes widened in surprise after seeing that it was none other than the flintlock that previously accompanied the former through thick and thin.
’Would it not be incompatible with me, though?’ Although the sight of the flintlock gave him more confidence in making the impossible possible, the young man still had slight doubts. ’After all, my main class is that of a mage. My Attack stat scales off INT.’
’…Right. Didn’t think of that,’ replied Valyr after giving it a bit of thought, his expression soon turning pensive. ’…But I don’t think it’s gonna be a problem. After all, its skills don’t scale off INT. It scales off the Attack stat.’
’Of course, it’s still better to be safe than sorry.’
With those words in mind, Valyr turned to look at Hath and asked if it was possible for them to fight against a Rank 6 monster first before fighting against the Elder Wyvern.
Surprisingly, the latter showed great enthusiasm in response, telling the young man that doing so was a smart move.
“It’s always better to get an idea of where your limits lie before seeking to go beyond it,” he said, giving the two a knowing look soon after.
In response, Valyr and Ataraxia merely remained silent, understanding that the man in front of them had misinterpreted their suggestion as something else.
Either way, he wasn’t wrong.
After all, they didn’t know if the flintlock would work as intended if it were to be used by Ataraxia.
With that, Hath briefly left the barrier that surrounded them in search of an early Rank 6 monster, thinking that such beings would give the two a wake up call and make them realize that fighting above their grade was a difficult challenge.
Fortunately, with the Infernal Badlands being a home to a plethora of powerful monsters, it did not take long for the man to find what he felt was a suitable monster, informing both Valyr and Ataraxia to head to where he was.
Zooming through the Infernal Badlands after that, the two soon arrived at another region of the Badlands where the volcanoes were a bit more scattered than usual.
Finding Hath near one of the emptier parts of the area, the two were then informed of the Rank 6 monster they would be fighting, which was a Rank 6 Blazing Direwolf.

HP: 1,163,490/1,163,490

“Keep an eye for its claws, as well as its fiery breath,” Hath reminded the two. “Also, keep in mind then when it’s nearing death, it enters a berserk state that brings it back to half HP and enhances all of its stats.”
“We’ll keep that in mind,” responded Valyr with a nod as the two began to move closer to where the Blazing Direwolf was.
At first, Hath thought that the two would fight the monster together, with Valyr acting as a vanguard while Ataraxia would harass it from the rear.
Yet, he was instead greeted by the sight of the two stopping about a hundred meters away from the Blazing Direwolf.
“What are they doing…?” muttered Hath in slight confusion, wondering what the two were planning to do before fighting.
Bang!
Though, before he could even get an inkling as to what was going on, a loud explosion erupted soon from where Ataraxia stood, causing Hath’s eyes to widen in shock as he took notice of what happened to the Blazing Direwolf.
“It’s… it’s dead?”
“…”
“…In just one attack?”
