Chapter 419: Don’t give advice to strangers
Ryan was astonished.
He couldn’t believe his ears.
This man, this “Demon” who had appeared in their world like a tsunami and taken over the entire economy of the Dragon World with a single auction, was telling him that he wanted to train him.
Why?
Was it because of Lady Rose?
Or was there something else?
“Umm, excuse me, sir! May I ask you something?” Ryan asked hesitantly.
“Sure,” Ethan casually replied, leaning against a high-tech console in the private training room.
“Why are you doing this for us? Is it because of Lady Rose? Do you love her? Or are you just planning to use this way to win over her emotions and later only hurt her?”
Ryan was terrified of the power Ethan held, but his loyalty to his people was stronger than his fear.
Ethan smiled.
Even though Ryan had lost his memories, he was still the same loyal friend.
Some things were deeper than a person’s memory. They were part of the soul.
“There are some mysteries, Ryan, which you cannot always solve,” Ethan said, his voice turning serious. “Just remember one thing. From me, you or anyone else will not be hurt. I am not your enemy.”
Ethan could have explained everything right then.
But he had done some digging into why Rose and the others had lost their memories. To his surprise, he had hit a wall.
It felt as if some higher existential being was directly blocking him from knowing the truth.
He didn’t want to be impatient. He decided to let everything flow naturally. Ethan was sure that some higher beings were watching his every moves.
So he would wait until he could directly destroy them.
After listening to him, Ryan’s eyes lit up.
He felt a weight lift off his chest.
A genuine smile appeared on his face.
“Thank you, sir.”
Ethan nodded.
“Okay, let’s get to work. You have awakened the Eternal Titan bloodline, but your purity is only at 60%. I have a special cultivation technique for you. Your job is to use it to refine your bloodline to 100%.”
“100%?” Ryan gasped. “Is that even possible?”
“In this tower, anything is possible,” Ethan said. “Go to the 60th floor. There is a time field there where time flows 10,000 times faster than the outside world. Go and use it. Rose, Zara, and your wife need you to be strong. I am counting on you, Ryan.”
Ethan floated up into the air until he was eye-level with the twelve-foot-tall Ryan.
He placed his index finger on Ryan’s forehead.
A surge of information flowed into Ryan’s mind, engraving the complex Titan cultivation technique into his memories.
Ryan bowed deeply one more time.
He couldn’t find the words to express his gratitude, so he decided he would show it through his hard work.
He turned and headed straight for the 60th floor.
After Ryan left, Ethan decided to go outside.
He wanted to walk the city and gather some information while waiting for the next day.
He vanished from the room and reappeared on the busy street in front of his company.
Ethan began walking aimlessly, enjoying the strange sights of the Dragon World.
Suddenly, a booming voice echoed through the sky, amplified by magic.
“Listen, people of the Ice Dragon race! Saintess Rose will become the Leading Saintess of the Ice Dragon race from now on! A grand banquet will be held for five days. You are all invited to join, and every other race is welcome as well!”
It was Melida’s voice.
She was using her power as an Eternal Sovereign to make sure everyone in the domain knew she had fulfilled her promise.
Ethan just smiled.
He was a little hungry, and a five-day banquet sounded like a perfect place to taste the delicacies of this world.
He started walking toward the central zone of the city.
The Ice Dragon race was powerful. They had 45 Eternal Sovereigns, and 40 of them led their own individual clans.
The Royal Family held the other five.
They were descendants of the Progenitor of the Ice Dragon race, a being at the Source Authority realm.
The Eternal Sovereigns could make anyone a saint with enough potential.
But to make someone the “Leading Saintess,” Melida had clearly pulled many strings and used the promise of the Eternal weapon Ethan had given her.
As he walked, he heard the citizens talking.
“Hey, who is this Rose? I’ve never heard of her.”
“She must be incredible to become the Leading Saintess. I thought all Saints were equal.”
The Ice Dragons were excited.
They wanted to see the woman who would lead their younger generation.
Since the banquet wouldn’t start until night, Ethan kept exploring.
Just as he was turning a corner near the central palace, he felt a tap on his shoulder.
“Excuse me, friend. Can you tell me where the Ethan Hunt Company is?”
Ethan turned around and saw something that made him pause.
Someone looked like a demon was standing infront of him.
On the outside, the creature looked like a standard demon.
But Ethan’s eyes saw much more.
This creature was a pure manifestation of chaos and destruction, a Source Authority level being.
The being was disguising itself, suppressing its power so it looked like a mere Origin Paragon.
But to Ethan, these tricks were useless.
He realized this creature was even stronger than Puffin.
“Who is this? The Progenitor of the Origin Demon race?” Ethan thought.
“Can’t you just scan the city?” Ethan asked, his voice dripping with irritation.
He didn’t care who this being was. The aura of chaos coming off the stranger was ruining his mood.
The demon scratched his head, looking innocent.
“Actually, using divine sense is forbidden in the city. I felt a familiar aura from you, that’s why I asked,” the demon said with a smile.
But Ethan saw the dangerous glint in his eyes.
This being was used to deciding the fate of everyone he met and he had probably decides Ethan’s fate too.
“The Ethan Hunt Company is on the north side of city. But they are closed right now,” Ethan replied, not hiding his annoyance.
“Okay, thank you. And my friend, you should learn to behave nicely with strangers,” the demon said, his smile widening into something predatory. “Who knows? Maybe you will end up in a situation you can’t handle”
It was a clear threat, delivered as friendly advice.
Ethan didn’t even blink.
He just smiled back.
“I think you should stop giving advice to people on the road. Who knows? Maybe someone will fuck you up in public if they didn’t like that, right?”
The demon’s smile froze for a split second.
He hadn’t expected a “lower” being to talk back with such confidence.
Before he could respond, Ethan turned his back and walked away.
He was sure this demon wouldn’t attack him in the public, that might blown away his cover but he would surely strike him.
Ethan would welcome that. He didn’t want to stire probelm, but if problem wanted to mess with him, he wouldn’t be polite at all.
After Ethan left, the demon behind him vanished too.
“A demon dared to be arrogant infront of me? I’d like to see his bloodline.”, the smile appeared on his face again.
