My attributes are increasing infinitely - Chapter 470: The world of Elysium

Chapter 470: The world of Elysium
Ethan was sitting in his room, thinking his next moves.
Suddenly, a voice—deep, ancient, and overwhelming—echoed inside his head.
“Wake up, child. How long are you going to waste in this illusion?”
Ethan froze. His heart skipped a beat. “Who is this?” he asked, his voice was tense but steady.
“I am nothing but a remnant of an old man, who was betrayed by his disciples and killed brutally,” the voice said, and its tone was heavy with sorrow and bitterness.
Ethan made a reflexive sound because he was unsure how to respond. “Huh?”
Then he was embarrassed and coughed. “Cough! What do you mean by wasting your time in an illusion?”
Ethan’s eyes narrowed, and he took a cautious step back. “This tower, all these thousands of worlds… what do you mean? Are they illusions?”
“Yes. Everything here is nothing but an illusion that was created by the two supreme rulers of the god race in the divine plane,” the voice explained, and there was a faint amusement in its timbre. “Do you know what you hope to achieve by chasing after shadows?”
Ethan’s expression remained calm. “I am working for someone else. My sister-in-law is under his control, and I am not strong enough to protect her,” he said plainly.
“Is that so?” The voice chuckled softly. “Do you know that the divine artifacts you are collecting are nothing but fragments of my own body, extracted and twisted over eons?”
Ethan’s eyes widened because he could not believe what he had just heard. “Then… the two supreme rulers of the god race… they are your disciples?”
The voice erupted in laughter, cold but tinged with sadness. “Hahaha. You are not bad. Indeed, they are my disciples. They desired the secrets of my power and betrayed me. They tried to cut my body, but it was too tough to be harmed. So they buried me here, and for eons, they have been extracting my cells in the form of artifacts and conducting experiments. This tower is a treasure from my world. That is why it can even hurt me.”
Ethan tilted his head, and he remained calm. “So why are you contacting me? Do you want me to free you? I am not strong.”
The old voice let out a long, resonating laugh. “Hahaha. I know that already. But I can do something for you, if you promise me something.”
Ethan’s tone remained steady, even amused. “Old man, you know that promises are not mere words for beings like me. It depends on what you can do for me and what exactly you want in return.”
“Fair enough,” the voice replied. “Here is what I can offer you. I can give you a chance to enter the world I come from. It is a world without limits to power. Your growth will depend entirely on your own abilities, your determination, and your will to survive.”
Ethan raised an eyebrow. “Go on.”
“In the divine realm, the highest beings are called Primordials. Beyond them, power hits a ceiling. That is the absolute limit of your plane. But in my world, no such limit exists. You can level up endlessly by killing, completing missions, or conquering challenges.
The Primordials you see here? They are around level 130 in my world. I was level 135 when I accidentally came to this plane, which I did not even know existed outside my world.”
Ethan’s interest sharpened. “Level 135? And there are beings even higher?”
“Yes. Heroes in my world can reach level 200, and the world is infinite. Perhaps there are even stronger beings waiting. You will have the chance to grow without boundaries. But you must promise me one thing: you must find my family and inform them of my fate.”
“That is it?” Ethan asked, surprised.
“Not quite. To convince them that you are telling the truth, you must reach at least level 50 first,” the voice explained.
Ethan turned slightly, as if he were speaking to someone nearby. “Yumiko, is he telling the truth?”
[I do not know, master. I cannot verify it]
came the faint reply in his mind.
“I am an Absolute Continum level being outside. What level am I?” Ethan asked, measuring the situation carefully.
“Absolute Continuum… hmm. That is the beginning of our people. You would be around level 2 or 3 at most,” the old man replied. “But there is a catch. You must sacrifice your law, if you have one, to integrate with the system of my world. Only then will you gain the ability to level up physically.”
Ethan frowned. “Why must I sacrifice my law?”
“It is trivial. A lower-level obstruction. The system despises it. When I brought my disciples to my world, they were instantly suppressed to mortal levels and expelled. Before I could guide them, they betrayed me,” the voice explained again, and its tone was laced with regret.
Ethan considered this carefully. “So I must give up my law the moment I enter?”
“Yes. You will feel an overwhelming pressure. Sacrifice the law at that moment, and the system will accept you as one of its own. I have tested this extensively,” the voice said.
“Then why did you not just tell your disciples? Perhaps they would have released you?” Ethan asked, curiosity edging into frustration.
“I tried, but they refused to believe me. They think that I am deceiving them, trying to strip them of their power so that I could kill them,” the old man said bitterly.
Ethan paused, taking in the weight of the situation. He understood the risks, but the opportunity was too great to ignore. “Alright. If you are truthful, I will reach level 50 and tell your family everything. I want to see a world where true infinity exists,” he said, and a spark of instinctive excitement was in his voice.
The voice chuckled warmly. “Good. Once you leave, your enemies will notice. I will release a portion of your power. You should be able to create a clone. Use it to compete in the trials to protect your family until you are strong enough to crush those who betrayed me.”
Ethan nodded. “Thank you. I appreciate it.”
Without warning, he felt a portion of his law unlock within him. Instinctively, he created a clone.
“Old man, I am ready,” Ethan said, and his voice was firm.
“Very well. I will open a portal. It will only be open for a millisecond, enough for you to pass. That is the limit of what I can hide from them,” the voice said.
Ethan took a deep breath. The portal shimmered before him, crackling with energy and pulling at reality itself. He did not hesitate. He jumped straight into it. At the same instant, his clone appeared in his place, perfectly mimicking his presence and ready to continue guarding what mattered most.
…
Ethan appeared on the other side of the portal and the portal vanished instantly.
He was ready for the pressure which was coming to him as the old man said but no such thing happened.
Ethan’s mouth curled up. He had a feeling that something like this would happen as his law was the law of infinity. How could it be a low level trash?
[Ding! Welcome the to the world of Elysium.]
