My Celestial Ascension - Chapter 821: Commission

Chapter 821: Commission
Many feared her because of her seductive appearance, which was nearly impossible to ignore. Countless men had fallen victim to her deadly charm, ending up as nothing more than rotting flesh.
Because of this, no one dared to interfere with her or her business—the consequences of crossing her were far too severe.
At the same time, her assassination syndicate, The Green Viper, had earned a fearsome reputation for never failing a mission.
The second organization, ruling the western district, was the infamous Red Dragon Syndicate—feared as one of the most dangerous criminal groups in the city.
They specialized in money laundering, kidnapping, and often acted as mercenaries, for every member of the organization was immensely powerful and ruthless.
Cassius Drayven, leader of the Red Dragon Syndicate, was infamous as the most cold-blooded and sinister figure in the city, with a dangerously hot-headed nature.
Many avoided him entirely. His cruel tendencies included torturing victims psychologically, often violating their wives before their very eyes, leaving them broken before their deaths.
Despite his vile methods, Cassius had numerous high-paying clients across the continent who sought his services for their own nefarious purposes.
The third organization, the Sky Eagle Syndicate, was not as overtly fearsome as the Red Dragon or Green Viper, but their strength lay in information—more valuable than weapons or muscle.
A neutral group, every criminal organization maintained friendly ties with them due to their unmatched intelligence network.
The Sky Eagle Syndicate controlled the northern district. Beyond selling information at exorbitant prices, they also ran a brothel housing thousands of women.
Darius, the elusive leader of the Sky Eagle Syndicate, was known only by name. No one had ever seen him in person.
He remained a complete mystery, always appearing in public with a mask concealing his face. Rumor held that he possessed an exceptionally brilliant mind, unmatched in the art of intelligence gathering.
It was a business that never failed to turn profit, offering clients a vast selection of women to choose from. With enough money, anyone could acquire whatever type of companion they desired.
As for the fourth organization, it was the Dark Society Syndicate, a powerful group of mages. This organization consisted of dark mages and other mages branded as criminals for their sinister experiments on humans and nonhumans alike.
The Dark Society Syndicate was also the wealthiest organization in all of Grimhaven City, with riches far greater than all the other organizations combined.
The leader of the organization was said to be a witch—a woman of immense power and beauty, but her behavior was notoriously unruly.
Morgana Duskborne, leader of the Dark Society Syndicate, was a ruthless woman with the darkest heart imaginable. Her organization was infamous for creating illegal drugs banned across every tribe and nation.
They were responsible for producing most of the illicit substances circulated worldwide, used primarily by criminals—but occasionally even nobles sought them out to gain temporary boosts in strength for combat against stronger opponents.
Moments later, Princess Lindsey’s carriage arrived in Grimhaven City, immediately attracting the attention of the public as it entered the bustling streets.
It stopped at a luxurious hotel in the eastern district—the territory of the Green Viper Organization. After all, their purpose in coming to the city was to hire an experienced assassin.
The hotel itself served as the Green Viper’s base. As Princess Lindsey and her assistant arrived, countless eyes from the shadows silently observed their every move.
“A single room for us, please,” Princess Lindsey said to the receptionist.
“Right away, Madam. For how long?” the receptionist asked, smiling politely. Yet behind the smile, her caution and curiosity were carefully concealed.
“A single night.”
“It will be a hundred gold coins, Madam—forty for the room, sixty for protection.”
“Here is the money.” Princess Lindsey nodded and tossed a pouch to the receptionist before taking the keys and heading upstairs.
She also received a unique gold token, bearing the insignia of a snake coiled around a human body, biting its neck.
Once upstairs, she found a door engraved with the same insignia. Lindsey studied the token in her hand, then the door.
“I see… quite a unique method to conduct business,” Lindsey chuckled softly, heading toward the door with a sly smile.
Behind the door waited a strange woman with a piercing, almost angry stare. She glared sharply at Lindsey and her assistant.
“Only one person conducts business here,” the woman said in a stern voice.
Princess Lindsey nodded calmly. “You can wait outside. I’ll be back shortly.”
“As you wish, My Lady,” the assistant said, nodding before leaving. Behind the silver mask, a concerned expression lingered.
Once the assistant departed, the strange woman took the token from Lindsey and used a magical symbol to open a mysterious gate embedded in the wall.
Beyond the gate was endless darkness. Princess Lindsey tried to look through it using her Magic Sense, but she was unable to see what lay beyond the mysterious entrance that had suddenly appeared in the wall.
“You won’t be able to see inside unless you actually step in. You are too weak. Now go—don’t waste our time, and do what you came here for,” the strange woman said in a chilling voice, pointing her finger firmly at the entrance.
Princess Lindsey took a deep breath and nodded, stepping inside despite not knowing who or what was waiting for her on the other side.
Once inside, she found herself standing before a woman sitting behind a desk, her tongue flicking out like a snake as she hissed at Lindsey with a strange, unsettling motion.
“Well, well, I wonder what brings the Princess of the Golden Lion Empire to my humble place… I don’t believe for a moment that you’re simply here to have a conversation with me,” the woman said, licking her lips in a deliberately seductive manner before gesturing for Lindsey to sit on the chair in front of her.
Princess Lindsey froze, shocked, her mouth opening and closing repeatedly as if she could not believe what she was seeing or hearing.
’I’m wearing a mask to cover my face… how did she find out my identity? How is that even possible? I made sure that no one could recognize me!’ Princess Lindsey thought inwardly, her eyes widening in complete disbelief.
Once seated, Lindsey looked at the woman with a curious, almost cautious gaze. She was undeniably beautiful, and yet she did not look like a criminal in the slightest.
However, Lindsey wasn’t foolish enough to think that her beauty meant she wasn’t dangerous. She was acutely aware that this woman in front of her was extremely dangerous. If she had wanted to kill her, Lindsey would not have been able to stop her from doing so, and there would be no one to save her.
’I have to be careful how I act in front of her… one wrong move, and I might not leave here alive!’ Princess Lindsey swallowed nervously, her mind racing with caution.
“Let’s have some tea, shall we?” the woman said with a smile, pouring two cups carefully—one for herself and one for Lindsey. “Please, have a taste. It’s quite aromatic and very refreshing.”
“Thank you,” Lindsey said, nodding and accepting the cup with an awkward, tense smile on her face.
Noticing the unease, the woman chuckled softly. “Don’t worry. The tea isn’t poisoned. If I wanted to kill you, you wouldn’t be sitting here right now, little princess.”
“Now then, shall we get down to business? You should know, I’m quite a busy woman. I don’t have the time to entertain guests unnecessarily,” she added, her expression growing serious as she placed her cup down carefully on the table.
Princess Lindsey mirrored her seriousness, setting her own teacup down as she looked the woman directly in the eyes before explaining the reason she had come to this place.
She expressed her desire to kill the Queen of the Elves, Mireya Sylthariel Moonshade. She asked the woman for help in eliminating Mireya, fully aware that she could not get directly involved herself.
“I see… so you want me to end her life. Very interesting. But, dear, you should know it will cost you a large sum of gold coins,” the woman said with a smile before continuing, “After all, she is the queen of a nation with extremely high security around her palace. Infiltrating it will be incredibly difficult.”
“I’m willing to pay any amount to get the job done. I don’t care about the cost,” Princess Lindsey replied firmly.
“I see… so you are truly determined to kill her. I like that. Very interesting…” the woman chuckled seductively, clearly amused by Lindsey’s resolve.
With a wide, almost predatory grin, she continued, “I will need a hundred thousand gold coins for this job… after a thirty percent discount.”
“Done,” Princess Lindsey said immediately, rising from her chair. “I don’t care about the price, but you must promise me that this job will be carried out flawlessly and that her head will be brought back to me.”
“Absolutely. There is no problem with that arrangement,” the woman nodded, a small smile playing on her lips.
Princess Lindsey nodded in return, handed over a magic pouch brimming with gold coins, and left the room.
Shortly afterward, she reunited with her assistant and left the hotel, unwilling to spend a single more moment in the city.
Moments later, the carriage left the city at an incredible pace, racing past the trees as it entered the forest.
“It’s finally done. Soon… soon that bitch will be dead, and my problem will be gone,” Princess Lindsey muttered to herself with a laugh, imagining the scene of the murder vividly in her mind.
Meanwhile, inside the hotel, the woman handed a portrait of Queen Mireya to her assistant, her expression serious and focused.
“Find more details about this person in the portrait. We have a commission to assassinate this beautiful elf,” Nyx, the leader of the Green Viper Organization, said in a tone that was both serious and urgent.
“As you wish, Mistress,” the assistant nodded, leaving the room immediately.
“Queen Mireya… I wonder what you did to offend the Princess of the Golden Lion Empire. But I don’t care about your reasons. My people will soon end your life,” Nyx muttered with a wide grin as she reclined on the sofa in a seductive pose.
