My Celestial Ascension - Chapter 883: Purple Frog

Chapter 883: Purple Frog
“My Lord, that person and his wives are staying at one of the most expensive inns in our city. And just as you instructed, our people are keeping a close eye on them.” The butler with glasses informed Lady Hexryn professionally.
“Good. Tell them to continue monitoring. Report every move they make to me immediately—no delays.” Lady Hexryn nodded, her expression serious as she sat at her study table.
“Those people are extremely dangerous and of unknown origin… we must be extra cautious around them.”
“My Lord, I believe you may be overestimating those humans and demihumans. To me, they are not as impressive as you describe.” the butler replied.
Hearing this, Lady Hexryn let out a soft chuckle. “You have grown old, Butler Barton… you’re not as sharp as you used to be.”
“Forgive me, My Lord, but even though my bones are old, my mind remains sharp. Otherwise, you would’ve replaced me long ago.” Butler Barton chuckled lightly.
“Indeed,” Lady Hexryn smiled. “You’re right—you are still very useful to me. Besides, you’re the only one I truly trust. Even my own children have begun rebelling and plotting to take my position.”
“Unfortunately for them, they still don’t know I’m always one step ahead. Their petty tricks can’t fool me; I learned a lot from my childhood.” Lady Hexryn said with a wide grin.
Suddenly, her expression hardened. “As for that young human named Yuan and his wives… they are extremely dangerous. Even with all my experience on the battlefield, I don’t think I can raise my sword against even one of them.”
“I’ve already informed His Majesty about them. He has ordered me to keep their presence a secret and continue watching them—just in case they show signs of violence.”
“I see… so it is a direct order from His Majesty the Demon Emperor…” Butler Barton sighed softly.
With such an order, Lady Hexryn must monitor the outsiders and report everything directly to the Demon Emperor.
Furthermore, the Undead Race seems to be making unusual moves recently, mobilizing thousands of undead toward the border.
The reason behind these suspicious actions remains unknown. Although no high-ranking undead have appeared yet, it is still a deeply concerning matter for the Demon Empire.
“The sudden appearance of humans and demihumans… and now the undead are moving as well. Everything feels connected somehow.” Lady Hexryn muttered with a troubled expression.

“Let’s go out and look for a place to purchase a map of the continent. We’re searching for locations where ancient ruins might be hidden—places people normally avoid.” Yuan said to his wives after finishing breakfast and preparing to leave the inn.
“Good idea. A map of this place will definitely help us, especially since we know so little about this continent.” Vanessa nodded with a smile.
Shortly, they packed their belongings
and left the inn.
They inquired among the locals about where they could buy a map. After asking around for a few minutes, they finally found a place that sold almost everything.
The Platinum Merchant Guild—the most famous and powerful guild in the entire continent. It was an association similar to the Hunter Association from the Human Continent and the Beast Continent.
However, the Platinum Merchant Guild worked very differently; it was essentially a massive marketplace—a place where all merchants bought and sold their goods.
Shortly after, they arrived before a large building with a massive signboard hanging at the front—”Platinum Merchant Guild” written boldly across it.
Many people were entering and leaving the building, and Yuan and his wives walked inside without wasting a second.
“Welcome to the Platinum Merchant Guild, esteemed guests. Are you here to sell or buy?” one of the workers greeted them the moment they entered.
“We’re here to buy,” Anna Grace replied with a polite smile.
“Please come this way,” the worker said before leading Yuan and his wives toward a different section.
As he guided them, he explained, “We have two separate areas—one for buyers and one for sellers. Those who wish to sell are handled separately. It’s the most efficient way to avoid chaos and misunderstandings inside the guild… and here we are.”
Pointing toward a massive reception counter, the worker added, “You can buy almost anything here, as long as you have the money.”
Once the worker left, Yuan and his wives approached one of the counters.
“What can I help you with?” the receptionist asked with a polite smile, though she couldn’t hide the surprise on her face. Yuan and his wives’ unique appearance immediately drew attention, and many people began whispering among themselves.
“We’re looking for a map of the entire continent,” Yuan said.
“An entire map of the Demonic Continent? We do have such a thing. However…” the receptionist paused.
“However?” Yuan repeated, a puzzled look crossing his face.
“However, the price of this map is very high, as only five of them exist in the entire continent. It marks every location—including all danger zones.”
She continued, “But we also have cheaper map options available as well, if you’re interested.”
“Money isn’t a problem for us,” Yuan replied with a smile.
“Understood. Since that is the case, I’ll bring it right here. Just give me a moment.” The receptionist said with a huge smile on her face before leaving the counter.
After a short while, the receptionist returned to the counter holding the map in her hand.
She placed the map on the counter and opened it to show Yuan and his wives that it was the genuine item they were looking for.
“This is the map. Please have a look and check it for yourself.” The receptionist said to Yuan with a smile on her face.
“So, how much do I have to pay for this?” Yuan asked after examining the map for a couple of minutes.
“A total of 10,000 gold coins. After all, this map is no ordinary map.”
“Not much…” Yuan mumbled to himself in a low voice before he retrieved a small magic pouch from his system storage.
’10,000 gold coins isn’t much?? Just how wealthy is this guy actually?!’ The receptionist cried inwardly, seemingly in disbelief.
“Here is the payment. Verify the amount.” Yuan placed the magic pouch on the counter and picked up the map before tossing it into his system storage.
The receptionist was shocked to witness the map suddenly vanish into thin air, and her eyes widened in disbelief.
’Just who exactly is this guy? How did he make the map disappear into thin air?!’ The receptionist screamed inwardly, dumbfounded by the scene.
But, she soon recovered from her shock and verified the gold coins. Once she was done, she looked at Yuan and his wives with a huge smile on her face.
“Thank you for your patronage, esteemed guests. Is there anything else I can do for you?” She asked.
“No. We’re done here.” Yuan responded before he and his wives left the counter.
After leaving the Platinum Merchant Guild, Yuan and his wives left the city and decided to head toward Mount Rhel, a mountain range where some ancient monuments existed.
This place was the closest area where the remains of an ancient civilization could be found, such as ancient infrastructures and old pottery.
After traveling for almost an hour, Yuan and his wives saw a massive swamp in the distance that was oozing purple fog into the air.
And suddenly, Yuan sensed a powerful presence near the swamp. It wasn’t the presence of a human, but something else entirely.
“A spirit beast… There is a spirit beast near the swamp.” Yuan said to his wives, a surprised look on his face.
But thinking about the fact that the people of the Demonic Continent don’t have mana in their bodies, the existence of a Spirit Beast wasn’t very surprising.
“The presence isn’t that strong… probably around Spirit Master–realm Spirit Beast.” Fang Xiaoyan said with a soft snort.
A few minutes later, they spotted the spirit beast in the distance, at the far edge of the swamp.
It was a huge frog with purple skin, its surface silky smooth as though a thick layer of oil coated it, with dark spots scattered across its back.
Yuan and his wives descended to the ground a couple of meters away from the frog and began examining it from a safe distance.
“It’s a Purple Frog. A deadly monster… its skin is extremely poisonous, so no other spirit beast dares fight it. The moment anything touches its skin, it’s as good as dead.” Fang Xiaoyan explained with a serious look, warning everyone of the danger.
“A Purple Frog, huh? Considering its cultivation level, it definitely has a monster core inside its body,” Yuan mumbled quietly, not wanting to alarm the frog.
“I’ll go and take care of it,” Yuan said with a wide grin as he drew the Empyreal Oblivion.
“In that case, we’ll be watching from here,” Angela said with a slightly concerned look as Yuan walked toward the monster.
The Purple Frog’s eyes shifted toward Yuan as it sensed his presence approaching, yet it didn’t move at first.
Whoosh! Suddenly, it leaped high into the air and came crashing down toward Yuan, its massive body plummeting at terrifying speed.
However, Yuan didn’t panic. He remained completely calm, as though everything was under his control, even smiling from ear to ear.
“Now then… I’ll end this in a single strike,” Yuan muttered to himself with a wide grin before tightening his grip on his sword.
A massive surge of Sword Aura erupted from him, coating the entire blade in a thick layer of brilliant aura.
And just as the frog was about to crush him under its massive weight, Yuan swung his sword, unleashing a powerful arc of Sword Aura at the descending monster.
Slash! A sharp slicing sound echoed as the frog widened its massive eyes, unable to comprehend what had just happened.
Before it even touched the ground, its enormous body split cleanly in two mid-air, the halves crashing down on either side of Yuan.
Thud! Blood and organs splattered everywhere as the corpse hit the ground, and a foul stench began to spread from the remains.
