My Celestial Ascension - Chapter 884: Spider Den

Chapter 884: Spider Den
The scene dumbfounded Nyx, her eyes widening in disbelief after witnessing Yuan slice the giant frog into two parts with such ease and confidence.
“Simply too amazing… he is so strong… no wonder my daughter chose him to be her husband… she has good judgment and excellent taste,” Nyx mumbled to herself with a small smile on her face.
She found Yuan incredibly handsome in action, as this moment brought out a hidden charm she had never noticed before, causing her cheeks to turn slightly rosy.
Anna Grace and the others looked at Nyx with knowing smiles. Especially Emma, who could already imagine what would happen in the future.
’It seems that Mom is finally noticing my husband’s charm… it won’t be long before she ends up in his arms…’ Emma thought, her face flushed with embarrassment.
Meanwhile, Yuan spotted the red monster core on the frog’s corpse, and he immediately approached the body to retrieve the monster core.
’It’s quite heavy and contains a large amount of Spiritual Energy… it will greatly benefit Miss Zara’s cultivation,’ Yuan thought with a smile before returning to his wives.
After that, they continued their journey without any delay, considering they had already wasted some time dealing with the Purple Frog.
Although it had been a waste of time, it also benefited them since they obtained a valuable monster core.
After an hour of traveling, Yuan and his wives arrived at the location. From high up in the sky, they could already see some very old, nearly crumbling structures.
Upon descending to the ground, Yuan looked around for a moment, noticing that the entire area was covered in dense forest and towering mountains.
“Is this the location?” he muttered with a puzzled expression, feeling uncertain about the place.
“Why not open the map again to check if this is indeed the correct location?” Leah said, glancing around with concern on her face.
Yuan didn’t waste a single second and immediately retrieved the map from his system storage.
’This is indeed the location… however, why do I feel like something isn’t right about this place? It’s a very strange feeling,’ Yuan pondered as he stared at the map, his brows furrowed.
“Is the location incorrect, dear?” Angela asked softly, moving closer as she looked at the map alongside him.
“No. The location is very accurate. However… I feel this place is extremely strange, as if something is wrong here,” Yuan said with a concerned expression while observing the ancient structures around them.
“What’s so strange about this place? I don’t think there’s anything wrong here,” Angela replied, appearing puzzled after hearing Yuan’s words.
She looked around carefully and found nothing unusual. She even extended her Divine Sense, yet she still could not detect anything aside from a few scattered skeletons in the distance.
Yuan and his wives also discovered the remains of people, but they ignored them since this part of the area was marked as a danger zone on the map.
Suddenly, Yuan noticed something moving in the distance, and he immediately extended his Divine Sense to see what lay ahead.
However, what he discovered was a huge cave entrance, with no monster anywhere nearby.
’Was it my imagination, or did I really see something move?’ Yuan thought with a puzzled expression as he stared in that direction.
’I definitely saw something moving between the trees… I can’t be wrong.’
Anna Grace and the others looked at him with puzzled expressions, and Julie asked teasingly, “What’s wrong this time? Did you see a naked woman running around?”
“Hahaha! That must be it!” Valeria laughed heartily after hearing Julie’s remark.
“That’s right. His head is filled with nothing but naked women,” Rose nodded with a playful smile.
“Can’t argue with that,” Anna Grace also nodded, smiling faintly.
Yuan could only shake his head with a soft sigh after hearing this, looking at them with a helpless smile on his face.
“Let’s move forward. There is a huge cave up ahead. We might find something there,” Yuan said to them.
Everyone agreed, and they continued moving forward, crossing many broken stone pillars and shattered walls along the way.
A few minutes later, they stood before the grand opening of a cave. The entrance was formed from an extremely hard material, as not even a single crack could be seen on the massive slabs of stone neatly stacked together.
A cold air brushed against Yuan and his wives’ faces as they stood before the huge cave entrance, and all of them could feel that several pairs of eyes were watching them from within.
The sensation of one or multiple presences emanated from inside the cave, and a chilling feeling ran down Nyx’s spine as her feet froze in place, unwilling to move.
’What is this dreadful feeling? I’ve never felt anything like this before… whatever is hiding inside this cave is extremely dangerous!’ Nyx cried inwardly as her body trembled, her expression frozen in fear.
“It seems that someone is waiting for us inside,” Yuan muttered as he turned to his wives and said, “Let’s not make them wait, shall we?”
“Absolutely!” Vrasha nodded with a wide grin as she retrieved her sword from her spatial ring.
Valeria did the same, as did the others. One by one, they gripped their weapons before stepping into the cave.
The interior of the cave was dark, but it made no difference to Yuan and his wives, as they relied on their Divine Sense to see through the darkness.
However, as they ventured deeper inside, they soon noticed that the cave walls were blocking their Divine Sense, severely limiting how far they could perceive ahead.
Because of this, they could only sense a few meters at most, leaving them unable to see what was truly hiding deep within the cave.
“Our Divine Sense has weakened significantly as we go deeper… we have to be extra careful ahead. I can already see many spider webs,” Yuan spoke to his wives in a low voice.
His wives immediately nodded in response as they continued moving forward cautiously.
Before long, they could see many small spiders crawling along the walls, moving slowly as their bright red eyes glowed eerily in the darkness.
“The entire cave is filled with spiders… lots of them,” Xi Meili spoke while wearing a disgusted expression.
“Did you sense any powerful monsters nearby?” Yuan asked her quietly.
“Yes. Not just one—multiple of them just ahead. Probably around thirty,” Xi Meili nodded.
“I see… so it’s a spider den… it seems that the large moving thing I saw earlier was also a spider,” Yuan muttered in a low voice as he continued forward.
The sound of their footsteps echoed through the cave as they advanced, and everyone remained extremely vigilant of their surroundings, fully prepared for any sudden ambush.
A few minutes later, they arrived at the core area, where massive spider webs covered everything, and thousands of spiders could be seen crawling all over the place.
“This place is disgusting,” Aisha muttered as she stared at the horrifying scene before her, feeling an urge to vomit.
Many white cocoons hung from the webs—there were thousands of them—and green liquid continuously seeped from the sticky threads.
The liquid was highly acidic, and a sizzling sound echoed as it touched the ground, smoke rising from the scorched surface.
The air itself was filled with poisonous gas; a single breath would be enough to take a mortal’s life in the blink of an eye.
“Unbelievable… to think that such a massive spider colony would exist here… and there’s no mention of it on the map,” Vanessa muttered as she covered her mouth in shock.
Suddenly, the ground trembled as a massive spider appeared before them, hanging from the ceiling by thick webs and staring at Yuan and his wives with its glowing red eyes.
Soon after, dozens of similar spiders emerged around it, slightly smaller in size but otherwise identical to the gigantic one.
“That giant spider must be their Queen. But these smaller ones will get in our way if we try to deal with her directly,” Yuan said calmly to his wives.
Despite facing so many dangerous spiders, he showed no fear or surprise. He remained composed, as if the entire situation was firmly under his control.
“But Xi Meili and Fang Xiaoyan can handle the smaller ones with their flames,” Anna Grace said gracefully while tightening her grip on her sword.
“That’s right. With their flames, Xi Meili and Fang Xiaoyan can deal with the small spiders, even though their numbers reach into the millions,” Yuan nodded with a smile.
“Leave the small spiders to us. You go take care of the Queen,” Fang Xiaoyan said as she summoned her fire, immediately causing the temperature of the chamber to rise sharply.
Seeech!!! The spiders let out sharp screeches the moment they sensed the flames, lifting their front legs as they recoiled in fear.
Tens of thousands of small spiders surrounded Yuan and his wives from all directions, slowly closing in on them.
“Hmph!” Fang Xiaoyan lifted her leg and stomped heavily on the ground as flames erupted from her legs like a violent explosion, spreading rapidly in all directions.
Thousands of spiders were instantly burned to cinders, leaving nothing but ashes behind, while her flames continued to spread, gradually taking the shape of a majestic phoenix.
Meanwhile, Xi Meili took a deep breath as her neck turned bright red, as if molten lava flowed beneath her skin.
Whoosh! With a single breath of fire, Xi Meili incinerated tens of thousands of spiders. The spiders stood no chance against the combined flames of Xi Meili and Fang Xiaoyan.
As the two were busy dealing with the smaller spiders, Yuan turned to his wives and signaled for them to eliminate the larger ones.
After receiving his order, all his wives began slaughtering the spiders relentlessly, killing several at once with their powerful techniques.
The spiders were killed before they could even feel the pain of being torn apart by weapons; all they saw were women charging toward them and their toxic green blood splattering through the air.
Meanwhile, Yuan stepped forward slowly. He lifted his gaze toward the Spider Queen and smiled faintly.
Seeeechhh! The Spider Queen let out a sharp roar and crawled rapidly across the ceiling before dropping down and landing directly in front of Yuan.
Without wasting a single moment, the Spider Queen swung its massive, razor-sharp leg at Yuan, and Yuan immediately raised his hand, blocking the attack with his bare palm.
“A mere Spirit Grandmaster-level monster dares to act arrogantly in front of me… know your place!” Yuan grabbed the spider by its leg and hurled it aside as if it were nothing more than trash.
