My Celestial Ascension - Chapter 887: A Massive Steel Door

Chapter 887: A Massive Steel Door
As Yuan and his wives headed toward the Medicine Pavilion, they felt an eerie atmosphere surrounding them, as the entire sect was empty, filled with old and broken buildings.
“This place feels very creepy since no one is around… it’s hard to believe that people would abandon everything here,” Nyx muttered with a dazed expression as she observed the unique structures around them.
The layout of the buildings was completely different from anything they had seen before, with structures that were complex yet incredibly beautiful to behold.
“Perhaps a massive event took place in the past. That could be why all the cultivators decided to leave this place,” Vanessa spoke in a solemn voice.
“But what kind of event would make people abandon their wealth and flee? That doesn’t make any sense,” Leah asked, her mind filled with confusion.
“It’s also possible that all the cultivators died in an instant, leaving them no chance to flee or defend themselves,” Fang Xiaoyan said with a cold expression as she continued moving forward.
“That doesn’t make sense at all… what kind of power could kill all cultivators in an instant? That theory sounds completely unacceptable,” Julie said, as Fang Xiaoyan’s words felt absurd to her.
“It may sound absurd to you, but my words carry weight. There are powerful curses capable of killing tens of thousands of people in the blink of an eye,” Fang Xiaoyan replied with a serious expression.
“Perhaps you’re right, Xiaoyan. The cultivators of this world may indeed have been cursed and lost their lives because of it,” Yuan spoke after a brief moment of contemplation.
Then he continued, “If that weren’t the case, there would be no reason for cultivation to be completely forgotten in this world.”
“Unfortunately for us, we have no way of discovering what truly happened in the past. There is no one left in this world who survived or remains alive from that era.”
“That’s really unfortunate. I truly want to know what happened in the past and why cultivators disappeared from this world,” Ava murmured softly before sighing in disappointment.
Soon, they arrived before a huge and magnificent building that looked completely different from the Weapon Pavilion.
At the entrance, a massive signboard hung above the door, with the words ’Medicine Pavilion’ written in bold black letters.
Unlike the Weapon Pavilion, the door here wasn’t locked. However, Yuan and his wives could clearly sense a powerful array formation protecting the place.
And because the array formation was still functioning even after tens of thousands of years, the building appeared as though it was still actively maintained.
“The formation is still working… it seems the people of the Earth Immortal Sect valued this place greatly. They set up an extremely powerful formation to keep it safe,” Yuan muttered in a low voice as he sensed the flawless array still operating perfectly.
Xi Meili and Fang Xiaoyan immediately began examining the formation with their Divine Sense, as the formation was almost invisible to the naked eye.
A few minutes later, Xi Meili turned to Yuan with a smile and said, “This formation is not a problem for us. Its only function is to detect people with malicious intentions.”
“I see… in that case, we should go inside and take a look to see if there’s anything useful,” Yuan said before stepping into the pavilion.
Once inside, he saw an empty counter and rows of shelves arranged behind it, each shelf labeled clearly with prices.
Many of the shelves were empty, while some still held pill bottles but no medicinal herbs. Most of the pills were quite common, such as Qi Refining Pills and Qi Recovery Pills.
These pills were the most commonly used pills in any sect, as they helped cultivators accumulate Qi and recover their exhausted energy with ease.
Yuan picked up a bottle and examined it, only to feel immediate disappointment as the pill no longer contained any medicinal properties.
“These pills are no longer useful… there is no medicinal essence left in them anymore,” Yuan said after examining the pills on the shelves.
“It’s a pity that so many useful pills have gone to waste…” Fang Xiaoyan sighed as she looked at the countless pill bottles.
After checking the shelves further, Yuan found some common medicinal herbs, such as thousand-year-old ginseng.
These herbs were only useful for refining pills up to Tier Three, and consuming them directly would not provide Yuan and his wives with much benefit, given their high cultivation levels.
However, that didn’t mean they would leave these medicinal herbs behind just because they were no longer useful to them personally.
Without wasting a single second, Yuan and his wives immediately collected all the medicinal herbs they could find on the shelves.
The Medicine Pavilion had a total of six floors, with each floor containing rare and priceless medicinal herbs and pills.
Yuan and his wives collected all the useful items they could find in the Medicine Pavilion. The only things left behind were pills that had lost their potency or gone completely bad.
They gathered many precious herbs that were extremely rare and almost priceless even in the Nine Heavens, herbs with unique and nearly miraculous effects.
’This trip to the Demonic Continent hasn’t gone to waste with so many priceless items collected so far,’ Yuan thought as he exited the Medicine Pavilion.
Looking at the Medicine Pavilion one last time, Yuan and his wives headed toward their next destination—the treasury of the Earth Immortal Sect.
The Medicine Pavilion had yielded countless alchemy materials that were priceless even in the Nine Heavens and could not be found easily anywhere else.
Now, they were heading toward the main attraction of the Earth Immortal Sect—the treasury. After all, the treasury of an ancient sect was bound to be filled with countless priceless treasures.
Treasures that were heaven-defying, and perhaps even what they had been searching for all along. The treasury wouldn’t only contain invaluable treasures but also information that was just as priceless.
Looking at the map, Yuan and his wives discovered that the treasury was located deep within the mountains. Moreover, it was guarded by the guardian beast of the Earth Immortal Sect—a Flood Dragon.
The map mentioned the Flood Dragon as the sect’s guardian beast, one that had protected the sect for thousands of years.
Once Yuan and his wives arrived at the location, they saw a massive gate embedded into the mountain, with a dragon statue carved onto its surface.
“It seems we need a key to open this gate… aside from forcing our way through, we have no other options,” Yuan said as he studied the massive door before him.
The gate was made of extremely thick metal, and destroying it would be no easy task, as the door itself was a treasure designed to protect valuable items.
“Shall I try melting the door with my flames?” Fang Xiaoyan asked as sparks of fire flickered around her eyes.
“Sure. However, I don’t think flames alone can melt this door,” Yuan replied with a soft sigh.
“Hmph! Nothing can block my flames in this world!” Fang Xiaoyan snorted coldly and stepped forward, preparing to unleash a powerful attack on the massive gate.
“It seems someone is feeling insecure about her own power…” Xi Meili mocked Fang Xiaoyan with a soft chuckle.
“Shut your damn mouth, you overgrown lizard! Let me do my work!” Fang Xiaoyan shouted, her eyebrows twitching as she clenched her teeth in frustration.
“What did you say…!” Xi Meili instantly became enraged and shot a sharp glare at Fang Xiaoyan.
Just as Xi Meili was about to step forward, Yuan immediately pulled her into his embrace, stopping her in place.
“Meili, calm down. This isn’t the time to fight with your sister,” Yuan whispered gently into her ear, instantly soothing her emotions.
“Whose sister…” Xi Meili muttered softly as she buried her face against Yuan’s chest, a faint blush appearing on her cheeks.
Whoosh! A massive ball of flames formed in Fang Xiaoyan’s hand, and the temperature of the surrounding area rose sharply.
“Phoenix Descends…” Fang Xiaoyan muttered under her breath as the ball of flames transformed into a blazing phoenix and shot toward the massive gate.
Boom!!!
Upon impact, a tremendous explosion erupted, and a powerful shockwave swept across the area, shaking the entire sect as dust and debris flew everywhere.
When the dust finally settled, Fang Xiaoyan’s eyes widened in disbelief as she saw that her attack hadn’t even left a small dent on the massive gate.
“T-This is impossible…!” she exclaimed in a low voice, disbelief evident in her tone.
Anna Grace and the others were also shocked by the sheer toughness of the door. Especially Nyx, who was witnessing such a scene for the very first time in her entire life.
’That attack could erase an entire city off the map… yet it couldn’t even leave a dent on the door…’ Nyx swallowed nervously as she looked at Fang Xiaoyan in pure astonishment.
Everything around the door had been destroyed by Fang Xiaoyan’s flames, yet the door itself stood spotless, like an indestructible fortress.
Yuan slowly walked toward the door and placed his hand against it before turning back to his wives.
“I think you all should step back a little… this door won’t be destroyed so easily. I’ll have to use my strongest technique to break it,” Yuan warned his wives before pulling his sword out of thin air.
’Before I use my Empyreal Severing Sword Strike… I should first test whether this door can block my Sword Aura,’ Yuan thought to himself.
Once he firmly gripped his sword, a burst of Sword Aura erupted from his body, instantly coating the blade and sending a chilling pressure through the air that ran down everyone’s spines.
Slash! Dang! A loud metallic sound echoed as his sword clashed against the massive steel door, and astonishingly, he managed to carve a five-inch-deep cut into it.
“It seems Sword Aura can cut through this steel door… unfortunately, my understanding of Sword Aura is still too shallow,” Yuan muttered to himself as he examined the result.
Without wasting a single second, he prepared for his next attack. This time, he would go all out to destroy the door.
His cultivation erupted violently along with his Sword Aura. The sword in his hand glowed with a brilliant radiance as shockwaves rippled through the air, warning everyone that something catastrophic was about to happen.
“Empyreal Severing Sword Strike…” Yuan muttered in a low voice as he prepared to unleash his strongest sword technique upon the door.
A towering pillar of light appeared as he raised his sword high into the sky, and the moment he swung it downward, the pillar of light shot forward at an astonishing speed toward the massive door.
Booommm!!!
A massive explosion shook the entire Earth Immortal Sect as soon as the pillar of light collided with the colossal gate, sending a devastating shockwave surging in all directions.
