My Celestial Ascension - Chapter 899: Two More Duke Showed Up

Chapter 899: Two More Duke Showed Up
A couple of moments later, two more individuals entered the Imperial Hall. They moved with graceful poise, a dignified aura surrounding them that made them stand out from ordinary people.
“We greet His Majesty, the Demon Emperor,” the two individuals said as they kneeled before the Emperor and bowed their heads in respect.
“You may rise, Duke Alric Vane and Duke Corvin Hale,” Rhex spoke with a small nod, then asked, “How is the management of your territories going these days?”
“It is going well, Your Highness,” both of them responded in unison with polite tones.
“I see… It seems you have been managing your territories quite well. For that, I am grateful to both of you,” Rhex replied calmly, a small smile appearing on his face.
Duke Alric and Duke Corvin looked at Yuan and the others with faint contempt in their eyes, immediately recognizing them as humans and demi-humans.
Their gazes then locked onto the familiar face of Selvariel, and their eyes widened as they instantly recognized her identity.
They became vigilant at once, and the air inside the Imperial Hall grew heavy and oppressive, almost choking, as they stared at the angel with disgust and anger burning in their eyes.
“What is this wretched thing doing here?!” Duke Alric shouted, gritting his teeth in fury as his eyes blazed with rage while staring at Selvariel.
Selvariel did not take the insult lightly. Her body tensed, her eyes sharpening as she prepared herself for anything.
Meanwhile, Duke Corvin looked at Rhex with a confused expression and asked, “Your Majesty, pardon me for asking, but what is she doing in the Imperial Palace?”
“Relax. Duke Alric and Duke Corvin, calm yourselves. She is not a threat—at least, not for now,” Emperor Rhex spoke in a calm yet authoritative voice, releasing a hint of his own aura.
Duke Alric immediately retreated as soon as he sensed the tyrannical aura of their Monarch. He took a step back and lowered his head.
“Please forgive me for my disrespect. I allowed my impulse to cloud my judgment,” he apologized immediately in a polite tone.
Corvin then looked at Yuan and the others with a curious gaze and wondered inwardly, ’Are these the rumored humans who crossed the mysterious storm barrier and entered our territory?’
’They do have an impressive appearance… and there is even an Ogre and a Mystic Fox among them. Quite a fascinating group indeed,’ he thought with an impressed look on his face.
He then glanced at Selvariel again and wondered, ’However, this still does not explain why there is an angel here… did she come with this group?’
Turning back to Rhex, he asked, “Your Majesty, are they the rumored mysterious group from beyond our Continent?”
“Indeed. They are,” Rhex nodded with a smile and explained, “And that angel is now the servant of that impressive young man, so you need not worry about her presence here.”
“…” Duke Alric and Duke Corvin appeared stunned for a moment as soon as they heard the Emperor mention that Selvariel was now a servant of a human.
“Y-You must be joking, Your Majesty. Please, this isn’t funny at all. This is a very serious matter,” Duke Alric spoke in a trembling voice, his eyes widened in disbelief.
“That’s right, Your Majesty! This angel is not someone who would submit to a human. She is far too arrogant and proud!” Corvin added, nodding his head vigorously with the same shocked expression.
“Didn’t you two hear what His Majesty just said? Or have you both lost your hearing due to old age?”
Suddenly, Duke Hexryn’s melodious voice echoed throughout the Imperial Hall, accompanied by a soft, teasing giggle.
Her high heels clicked crisply against the floor as she took a few steps forward with a smug expression, her gaze looking down on the two dukes.
’Now I can finally enjoy something entertaining…’ Yuan thought with a smirk, already sensing that things were about to escalate.
“Oh? The old granny is here too… I didn’t even notice you until I heard your venomous voice,” Alric spoke with a smug grin, his tone dripping with mockery.
“Old granny??” Duke Hexryn’s lips twitched as veins bulged on her forehead. She gritted her teeth, fury flashing in her eyes.
However, suppressing her anger, she forced a wide grin and replied, “If I’m an old granny, then what does that make you? Even as an old granny, I can still perform quite well in bed. But what about you? Can you even satisfy your wife?”
“I bet you can’t even last a minute before someone else has to take over… hahaha~” Duke Hexryn’s loud laughter rang through the Imperial Hall as she openly mocked Duke Alric.
Upon hearing this, Duke Alric’s face turned crimson. Veins bulged on his forehead as his lips twisted in rage and humiliation.
’How does that feel? I’m sure you’re absolutely furious right now… perhaps you should’ve thought twice before provoking me,’ Duke Hexryn chuckled inwardly as she observed Alric’s expression.
“Hmph, you truly have no shame, Raveline. But since you started this, tell me—does your useless husband even satisfy you?” Alric retorted with a dangerous grin, barely restraining his anger.
At those words, Duke Hexryn’s expression darkened instantly. Fury surged through her as Alric dragged her husband into the exchange.
Seeing her reaction, Alric’s grin widened further. “Should I send someone over to keep you entertained? I guarantee it would be far better than your good-for-nothing husband.”
“How dare you insult my husband like that?! He is still far better than a useless man like you!” Duke Hexryn shouted, her voice blazing with fury as her aura surged violently.
“That’s enough. Both of you have gone far beyond acceptable behavior with this farce,” Rhex intervened, sensing that the situation was spiraling out of control.
The moment Rhex spoke, both Duke Hexryn and Duke Alric stiffened and turned toward him, daring not to ignore the Emperor’s authority.
“Please forgive my disrespect, Your Majesty,” Duke Hexryn immediately apologized, lowering her head slightly.
“Me as well, Your Highness,” Duke Alric added, bowing his head in submission.
“It’s fine. No lasting damage was done,” Rhex sighed softly before turning his gaze toward Yuan and the others.
“This is Duke Alric Vane, the Lord of Luncrest City. And the other is Duke Corvin Hale, the Lord of Ardenfall City,” Emperor Rhex introduced calmly. “Please disregard their earlier impudence.”
“Even I was shocked upon learning that the renowned battle angel Selvariel had become a servant. It is only natural for them to react in such a manner,” Rhex added with a soft sigh.
Yuan merely nodded in response to his words, maintaining his calm demeanor and choosing to remain silent.
