My Celestial Ascension - Chapter 906: A Sparring Session (1)

Chapter 906: A Sparring Session (1)
“Tell me about yourself, Yuan. I’m curious to know more about you. What made you come to the Demonic Continent?” Nerith asked as she looked at him with a smile, genuinely intrigued by him.
Yuan had crossed the mysterious storm barrier that had never been crossed before, something even she had never dared to approach.
The waters near the storm barrier were extremely dangerous, with violent waves that could wash away even the strongest ships, and monsters capable of swallowing an entire vessel whole.
Not to mention the powerful thunderstorms that could obliterate anything in their path—even the strongest individuals weren’t immune to them.
And yet, someone had managed to cross it—not just one person, but multiple of them. And now they were all standing before her. She couldn’t suppress her curiosity to learn more about them.
“Where should I start? I’ve been to many places before coming here… From one empire to another, from one continent to another…” Yuan spoke with a distant smile on his face as he looked at her.
“Start with yourself… Shouldn’t I know more about my sparring partner before our match begins?” she said, genuine curiosity shining in her eyes.
Yuan pondered for a moment before speaking. “I was once a nobody… someone who failed to awaken a Mana Core. I was considered a failure, often bullied during my childhood… There’s nothing interesting about me.”
“I don’t believe such nonsense… You’re clearly strong, and you don’t look like someone who would get bullied,” Nerith said with a soft chuckle.
“I’m telling the truth, Princess Nerith. Because I was born defective—someone who couldn’t wield Mana—I was bullied by many in the past,” Yuan replied with a serious expression.
“Oh, right. Humans use Mana and are called mages who cast spells… It sounds rather boring, in my opinion,” Nerith sighed at the realization.
Yuan then continued his story about the beginning of his journey with his wives. At first, it had only been him, Emma, Anna Grace, Lily, and Xi Meili.
Nerith listened to Yuan’s story in silence. Her eyes remained fixed on his face as he spoke, and she found herself growing more and more excited as she listened.
Meanwhile, Dorian stood at a distance, staring at the two with an unpleasant look on his face. The frustration in his expression was unmistakable.
Yuan and the others obviously noticed the look on his face and sensed the anger in his eyes. However, they didn’t comment on it, knowing that Dorian likely harbored one-sided feelings for Nerith.
Before Yuan could finish the rest of his story about his adventures, Nerith noticed that the training ground had emptied and no one was currently sparring.
“Yuan, let’s save the rest of the story for later. The ground is clear—let’s have a spar,” Nerith said with excitement before walking toward the training field.
“Very well. Let’s have a spar,” Yuan nodded with a smile and followed her.
“You all watch from here,” Yuan said, turning toward his wives and pausing for a moment.
“Have some fun, Darling,” Anna Grace waved at him with a gentle smile.
They then found a resting spot from where they could clearly observe the spar between Yuan and Princess Nerith.
“Do you think the Demon Princess has started to like our darling?” Anna Grace asked with a playful smile, her eyes fixed on Yuan and Nerith.
“Hmm… She does seem quite friendly with him, especially considering this is their first meeting. But as for her feelings, I can’t say much,” Valeria replied.
“Don’t forget—you practically jumped on him after losing your spar. And what you two did in the tent afterward… we saw everything,” Lily said with a wide mischievous grin on her face.
As soon as Valeria heard this, her face turned bright red, feeling embarrassed the moment Lily brought up the past.
“Oh? I’m really curious what my good daughter did inside the tent… fufu~” Vanessa chuckled, her curiosity about her daughter’s love story clearly piqued.
“N-Nothing happened in the tent… Lily, stop making up stories!” Valeria’s face turned even redder; she could feel the heat burning across her cheeks.
“Hmph, am I making up stories now? You clearly enjoyed it, didn’t you?” Lily said with a wide grin on her face.
“Alright, fine! I admit it! And it was amazing, alright? Will you stop embarrassing me now?” Valeria sighed and shook her head, still blushing profusely.
“I’m really curious now. I wonder what my little man did to my daughter…” Vanessa giggled and turned to Lily. “Lily dear, would you care to fill me in? I’d love to know what happened in the tent.”
“Mom!!” Valeria exclaimed, her face burning crimson as she gritted her teeth in frustration.
Lily immediately nodded and leaned closer to Vanessa with an evil grin on her face.
“Here’s what happened…” Lily then whispered into Vanessa’s ear, telling her everything in vivid detail about what had happened inside the tent.
“Oh my, what a naughty girl. I didn’t think my good daughter would be so lewd…” Vanessa covered her mouth with a surprised expression.
’Sigh… Lily really spilled everything into Mom’s ear… This is so embarrassing!’ Valeria screamed inwardly, her face flushing even deeper.
Meanwhile, Yuan and Nerith selected their weapons from the rows of blades displayed along the side of the training ground.
Both of them chose swords. They were ordinary training swords, but much heavier than normal ones—excellent for strengthening the body. However, to Yuan, it felt as light as a feather.
“Are you ready for the fun now?” Nerith asked with a small grin as she maneuvered her sword with the ease of an experienced swordsman.
“I’m ready.” Yuan nodded with a smile as he stepped to the center of the training ground, confidence radiating from him.
This immediately caught the attention of the soldiers training nearby, and they stopped what they were doing to focus on Yuan and Nerith.
“Hey, look! Princess Nerith is sparring with someone!”
“Indeed. But who is that young man? He looks so strange.”
“I don’t know. I’ve never seen him before either. It’s my first time seeing him.”
“What do you think? Does he even stand a chance against our Princess?”
Their whispers quickly filled the air as excitement spread through the training ground. In their minds, the outcome of the spar had already been decided.
However, they still wanted to see this mysterious young man struggle to hold his ground against their Princess. After all, no one had ever managed to defeat her before.
“You should make the first move, Yuan,” Nerith said confidently, wanting to test the waters before getting serious.
“No thanks, Princess Nerith. You may come at me first,” Yuan replied calmly.
“In that case, don’t complain later,” Nerith replied with a wide grin as she tightened her grip on her sword.
With a powerful kick, Nerith closed the distance between them in a heartbeat, her eyes locked onto Yuan as though he were her prey.
However, Yuan remained completely calm. With a swift movement, he raised his sword and effortlessly blocked her powerful strike without even batting an eye.
