My Celestial Ascension - Chapter 913: Yuan’s Proposition

Chapter 913: Yuan’s Proposition
Rhex took a deep breath, trying to calm himself before revealing everything to Yuan. There was no point in hiding it now, considering Yuan might be able to aid them in this crisis.
“We sent our most capable scouts to keep an eye on the undead shortly after they began appearing near our border. We had a feeling that they were planning something,” Rhex began to explain.
He continued, “And finally, we received news from them… and it is not good at all. It concerns the safety of every living being on this continent, not just my Demonic Empire.”
“Our scouts made a shocking discovery at the core of the desert. Over a million undead creatures are currently marching toward our border, along with the Undead King—their Monarch.”
“Not only that, they are killing every living creature they encounter and turning them into undead, increasing their numbers even further. Their forces continue to grow with each passing day.”
“Unfortunately, we do not possess the strength to stand against an army of that size, as we have no more than one hundred thousand soldiers. Not to mention, their Monarch has the power to raise the dead, turning them into undead.”
“Once they breach the border, it will be the end for us. No one will be able to resist their onslaught, and their strength and numbers will only increase with each person they kill.”
“I’m afraid we may not survive this crisis… I have already sent people to announce the news to every citizen of our empire so they can prepare for the worst possible outcome,” he sighed deeply as he explained the situation, the weight of it clearly visible on his face.
“I see… I didn’t expect things to escalate this quickly…” Yuan spoke, momentarily stunned after hearing the news.
Anna Grace and the others were also shocked, but they remained silent the entire time, absorbing the gravity of the situation.
Just as Emperor Rhex had said, there was no way they could defend the empire against such a massive force. Furthermore, any casualties in battle would only increase the strength of the undead.
Every fallen citizen would rise again as a mindless corpse and attack the living. It would not matter whether the target was a friend or a family member—they would assault any living being they could find.
“Don’t they have any weakness that we can take advantage of?” Valeria asked, raising her brows slightly.
“They do. Only fire can destroy them completely, but against such vast numbers, a small flame is useless,” Rhex replied, shaking his head with a defeated expression.
After a moment of silence, Valeria asked, “How long do you think it will take them to arrive at the border?”
“About two weeks at most. But we can’t be certain, since they do not feel exhaustion at all. That is their greatest advantage,” Rhex replied with an uneasy smile.
After thinking for a few seconds, Yuan asked, “Don’t you think it would be a good idea to warn the other nations? They will definitely aid you, considering they are also in danger.”
“Nerith has taken that responsibility,” Rhex replied. “She will head to the Vampire Kingdom tomorrow morning to warn them and seek their cooperation.”
He continued, “Once she finishes her business there, she will travel to the other nations as well to warn them. We must unite to face this crisis of survival, just as we did against the Holy Church and the Heroes back then.”
“I see… So she already has a plan in her mind. She truly has the mindset of a real warrior,” Yuan smiled softly.
’Should I teach her a few sword techniques? After all, I have many mortal-rank sword techniques at my disposal; giving her a few would not change anything,’ Yuan thought to himself.
“Yuan, since she will be traveling to the Vampire Kingdom, should we tag along with her?” Mireya asked with a curious look on her face.
Upon hearing this, Rhex became visibly tense, his expression shifting as his worries became more apparent.
’Just as I feared… He won’t aid us in this crisis… What a shame. We could have used his help,’ Rhex sighed inwardly.
“Hmm. That’s actually not a bad idea. It will save us some time,” Yuan nodded with a smile.
He then turned his attention back to the Emperor and said, “Emperor Rhex, I have a proposition to make. I hope you are interested in hearing it.”
“Oh? What kind of proposition? Please, go on. I’m listening,” Emperor Rhex’s eyes shone brightly the moment he heard this, a wave of relief washing over him.
With a wide grin on his face, Yuan said, “I hope you can mobilize an army for me when the time comes for me to march toward the High Heaven and overthrow the Divine Throne of those so-called gods.”
“And in return, we will aid you in the war against those abominations—the Undead King and his millions-strong army.”
“What?! Are you certain about this?” Emperor Rhex’s eyes widened in disbelief.
He then explained, “Let me tell you, the Undead King is not someone you can fight recklessly. His strength is on an entirely different level from ours. Furthermore, he commands a massive army.”
“Moreover, many people will die in this war. Even if we manage to defeat the Undead King and his army, our forces will be greatly reduced.”
“I know exactly what I’m saying, Emperor Rhex,” Yuan looked at him with a very serious expression and asked, “Now tell me, do you accept this proposal or not?”
“You can take as much time as you need. However, don’t waste your precious time—you’d better come to a decision as soon as possible,” Yuan added, leaning back on the sofa.
The Undead Army? It was nothing to him. He could destroy the entire force in just a few minutes if he truly wished. But he needed leverage to make Emperor Rhex agree to his proposal.
Unless Rhex agreed, Yuan would not interfere in this war. And even if the emperor accepted the condition, Yuan would not directly take part in the battle either.
Instead, he planned to use the undead army as a means to train his wives—especially Aisha, Vanessa, Angela, and the others.
Though this would result in some casualties for the Demon Army, no war could be won without bloodshed. A few sacrifices were necessary in order to win the people’s hearts.
Displaying his full strength would only create fear, and he did not want unnecessary trouble with the demons, as they would prove very useful to him in the future.
After thinking for a moment, Emperor Rhex decided to accept the proposal. At this point, he needed every ally he could find.
’I have no other choice but to accept his offer… This is for the greater good of my people. I’ll accept his offer—this way, we may also achieve our long-awaited revenge!’ the emperor thought while gritting his teeth, his expression resolute.
He took a deep breath before giving his answer. “I accept your offer, Yuan. I will provide all the help you require when the time comes. In return, help us deal with the Undead King and his massive army.”
