My Celestial Ascension - Chapter 922: Arrival Of The Vampire Nobles

Chapter 922: Arrival Of The Vampire Nobles
Queen Carmilla showed Yuan and the others around the city, giving them a tour and guiding them to some of its most popular locations.
The atmosphere of the city was quite enchanting—cold, with mist drifting through the streets, giving everything a mystical aura. Wherever they went, the vampires stared at them with awe and surprise.
They could smell the scent of humans, and their instincts stirred restlessly. The scent of human blood excited them, for human blood was considered a rare delicacy among vampires.
Many would willingly pay a hefty price just to taste a single sip, especially since they had not seen a human for ages, let alone drunk human blood.
Although Yuan and the others tried to ignore the intense gazes directed at them, it was practically impossible to do so while continuing through the streets.
The vampires’ behavior made his wives feel slightly uncomfortable, as their stares were clearly laced with hunger.
“Don’t mind them staring at you. It’s very normal for them to react this way when they smell the scent of humans,” Queen Carmilla said with an awkward expression.
Yuan simply nodded and sighed softly before continuing to follow her lead, walking comfortably while taking in the city’s unique atmosphere.
As they moved forward, Queen Carmilla spoke again. “We vampires mainly rely on the blood of other creatures—especially ordinary vampires.”
“However, noble vampires can share blood with their partners, sustaining themselves by drinking from one another. They may also consume blood from other creatures if necessary.”
“As for a Royal Vampire like me, I can only drink blood from my relatives, and once we marry, we may drink only from our partner and no one else,” Queen Carmilla explained.
Yuan and the others listened carefully, genuinely curious to learn more about vampires.
“It seems that being a vampire comes with many disadvantages,” Leah said innocently, sighing softly.
“Unfortunately, every species has its own advantages and disadvantages. It is a natural rule, and we cannot change it,” Queen Carmilla chuckled.
Then, smiling, she continued, “However, there is an exception. Aside from our partner’s blood, we Royal Vampires may also drink human blood, and we possess the ability to turn a human into a vampire.”
“Additionally, Royal Vampires can walk during the day. Sunlight has very little effect on us, making us the only vampires capable of moving under the sun,” she said proudly.
“Walking under the sun… I have heard of such things. I never expected it to be true. It almost sounds as though a curse has been placed upon your entire race,” Yuan replied calmly.
“You may think of it that way. We vampires would perish the moment sunlight touches us. Ordinary vampires cannot endure even a moment beneath the sun—they burn to death, leaving behind only ashes,” Queen Carmilla said firmly.
’It seems that what I heard about vampires in my past life was true… they are beings who must drink blood to survive and perish under sunlight,’ Yuan thought.
’Now the question is, how did people on Earth know about such things? There are no records of vampires’ existence… There must be some hidden secret behind it.’
’This is a mystery I can only solve once I return to Earth.’
They strolled for a few minutes before arriving at a place filled with many young vampires. At the top of a massive gate, the words ’Vampire Academy’ were written in bold letters.
“This is the academy of our Vampire Kingdom. All the children come here for their education. We teach everything here, from etiquette to warfare,” Queen Carmilla said, pride evident in her voice.
She then turned to Yuan and asked, “Would you like to go inside and have a look?”
“I think we will pass. We should return to the castle—the heads of the noble families must be arriving any moment,” Yuan responded calmly.
“Ah… I almost forgot about that. Let’s return to the castle, then,” she said with an awkward smile.
’Oh gosh! How could I forget something so important? I must be out of my mind…’ she scolded herself inwardly.
—
Numerous carriages entered the city, each bearing the insignia of the noble families of the Vampire Kingdom—houses that had ruled their territories for over a thousand years.
Ordinary vampires could only watch from afar; they did not even qualify to stand near members of the noble families.
“Look! So many carriages are heading toward the castle!”
“Unbelievable! Why are all the Noble Families rushing there??”
“I have no idea… However, this is the first time I’ve seen all the Noble Families gather at the palace without any special occasion.”
Shocked whispers quickly filled the air as news of the nobles’ arrival spread throughout the city.
The carriages moved straight toward the castle, maintaining astonishing speed even through the crowded streets.
They arrived like a storm and vanished just as quickly, leaving the ordinary citizens stunned.
Soon, the carriages reached the magnificent castle of the Vampire King.
The doors of the carriages swung open, and one by one, the leaders of the noble vampire families stepped out.
“I wonder what urgent matter has arisen for His Majesty to summon us so suddenly,” an elegant woman with bright red hair and a fiery demeanor said as she stepped out.
“I wonder the same,” a handsome man replied calmly, a faint smile on his face.
“I hope it’s nothing serious… I don’t have the time or patience to clean up someone else’s mess,” a beautiful lady with a seductive appearance remarked, her red eyes glinting briefly.
She had long golden hair and wore a stunning red dress that accentuated her graceful figure.
“We should speak inside. We can’t keep Lord Sebastian waiting while we complain,” a middle-aged vampire said with a polite smile.
Butler Sebastian stood at the palace entrance, composed and dignified, his posture reflecting years of discipline and service.
“My master is waiting for all of you inside the throne hall of the castle. Please follow me—I will escort you there,” Butler Sebastian said in a courteous tone, gesturing for them to follow.
The leaders of the noble households did not utter a word and silently followed Butler Sebastian.
The Vampire King—Evander—sat upon his throne with a restless expression, waiting for the nobles to arrive so they could discuss their responsibilities together.
