My Celestial Ascension - Chapter 923: Meeting The Vampire Nobles

Chapter 923: Meeting The Vampire Nobles
As soon as he saw them enter, he felt a slight sense of relief.
“We greet His Majesty.”
The leaders of the vampire nobility immediately knelt on the ground to greet their ruler—the royal blood of the Vampire Kingdom, who had presided over them for more than a thousand years.
“Raise your heads. We have an important matter to discuss, one that concerns the safety of all living beings on this continent,” King Evander spoke in a measured tone, though the concern in his voice was unmistakable.
The moment the vampire nobles heard this, their expressions shifted from calm to shock, their already pale faces turning even paler.
“D-Don’t tell me it’s exactly what I’m thinking… it’s impossible…!” the middle-aged vampire spoke in a trembling voice, his legs shaking.
“I-Is it about those vile creatures, Your Majesty??” the woman with golden hair and a red dress asked, her voice also unsteady.
“Unfortunately, it is indeed related to them, Count Leopold and Countess Katarina,” King Evander replied, his voice heavy with concern as he sighed softly. “And this time, it is an extremely serious matter that we cannot ignore by any means.”
Countess Isolde—the woman with fiery crimson hair and a striking, elegant presence—stepped forward slightly.
She held a confident expression, meeting the Vampire King’s gaze directly, as though they stood as equals.
A moment later, she asked, “How serious are we speaking of? Please clarify so that I may better understand the circumstances.”
“I can only say this—if we do not act quickly and form an alliance with the other nations, we will not survive this crisis,” King Evander answered, releasing a heavy sigh, his expression grim.
This caused all the vampire nobles to gasp, their eyes widening in disbelief. Some even staggered backward, unable to maintain their composure.
“I-Is it truly that serious?” Eldrick, the handsome vampire with a refined appearance, asked in disbelief.
King Evander’s expression hardened. Looking at them all, he spoke with grave seriousness.
“Over a million undead soldiers are marching toward the border as we speak… Now you understand how dire the situation truly is.”
Every vampire noble felt as though the ground had vanished beneath their feet upon hearing this. Collective gasps echoed throughout the hall.
Suddenly, the massive doors of the throne hall swung open, letting a rush of cold air into the chamber.
All the nobles turned their heads at once, wondering who would dare to enter so abruptly without the King’s permission.
Yuan and the others entered the throne hall alongside the Queen, immediately noticing the gathered vampire nobles standing before the throne.
“We greet Her Highness the Queen.”
The vampire nobles bowed respectfully, though they stared at Yuan and the others with a mixture of curiosity and shock.
’This scent… there are humans among them…!’
The moment the smell of humans reached their senses, the nobles’ brows lifted, excitement flashing across their faces.
They looked at Yuan and the others with unmistakably predatory gazes, as though they were staring at the rarest delicacy, barely able to restrain themselves from lunging forward.
“It seems we are a bit late… everyone is already here,” Queen Carmilla spoke in a charming voice, giving a slight nod to acknowledge the greetings of the vampire nobles.
She continued walking forward until she reached the empty throne. Turning gracefully, she sat down and looked at the gathered nobles.
“I hope our sudden summons did not cause any inconvenience to the lords,” she said with a polite smile.
“No trouble at all, Your Highness,” Count Leopold responded with a soft sigh. “After all, this is a very serious matter and required our immediate attention.”
Countess Isolde added with a firm expression, “It is indeed as Lord Leopold has said. Any delay would result in a catastrophic situation that could place us all at risk.”
Then she turned her gaze toward Yuan and the others with keen interest, her eyes glowing faintly with a bright crimson light.
“I do wonder what a group of humans and demi-humans are doing here… and more importantly, how they managed to enter our continent,” she said, studying them with a predatory look.
“It does not matter how they arrived on our continent right now. We have a serious matter to discuss—it would be best to focus our energy on that,” Princess Nerith stepped forward and spoke firmly, crossing her arms.
King Evander nodded in agreement. “Princess Nerith is correct. We can speak about them later. For now, let us concentrate on the pressing issue.”
Soon after, King Evander led everyone to another chamber to discuss cooperation with the Demon Empire, as well as responsibilities along the border.
Anna Grace and the others chose not to participate in the discussion, finding it rather uninteresting, with the exception of Valeria.
While Anna Grace and the others remained with Queen Carmilla, Yuan and Valeria accompanied King Evander and the vampire nobles to deliberate over the border situation.
The discussion continued for nearly an hour, during which Nerith successfully secured the alliance to fight against the Undead King and his millions of undead soldiers.
However, the vampire nobles added one condition—they would only take part in battle after sunset.
It was a reasonable demand, and Nerith immediately agreed. After all, vampires could not move freely under direct sunlight, much less fight powerful enemies in such conditions.
Once the discussion concluded, Countess Isolde turned her attention toward Yuan. Her red eyes seemed fixed on him as she observed him with intense curiosity.
“It has been over a thousand years since I last saw a human… I am very curious how you managed to cross the mysterious storm barrier,” she said with a small grin, her gaze still predatory.
“My dear Isolde, don’t tell me you’ve taken an interest in a human after remaining single for over two thousand years…” Katarina teased with a soft giggle.
“With such a handsome young man, how could I not be interested? Besides, I haven’t seen a human in ages,” Isolde replied with a wide, almost provocative smile.
She then focused on Yuan again, suddenly rising from her seat and walking toward him with a cold smirk.
“What is your name, handsome? A proper introduction is necessary before I can formally ask you for a duel…” she said with a confident smile, her eyes gleaming as she awaited his answer.
“It’s Yuan… a pleasure to meet you, Lady Isolde,” Yuan replied with an equally wide grin. “So, when would you like to fight?”
A broader smile spread across her face the moment she heard his response. She had not expected such eagerness, and her interest in him only deepened.
