My Celestial Ascension - Chapter 927: Matters Of The Heart

Chapter 927: Matters Of The Heart
Once she came out of her daze, she looked at Yuan with a warm yet excited expression in her eyes, as if she could not wait to speak with him.
“So, what do you think about my place? Is it better than the Royal Castle?” she asked with a smile.
“The view from here is much better compared to the Royal Castle… and this place is quite isolated from the bustling city. I like the calmness here,” Yuan replied while observing the surroundings.
“That’s quite an honest reply, Yuan. I’m glad you like it here,” she said, then grabbed his hand and pulled him along. “Let’s go inside. I’ll introduce you all to the members of my family.”
“…” Nerith’s eyes widened, and her jaw nearly dropped to the floor in disbelief.
’Isn’t this exactly how I dragged him into the bathroom before?! But why is she the one pulling him now? What does this bloodsucking bat want from him?!’ Nerith screamed inwardly, filled with disbelief and frustration.
Even Yuan was caught off guard by the sudden turn of events and could only follow her lead as she dragged him inside the castle.
’What in the world is happening? First Nerith, and now Countess Isolde… Am I about to gain another wife?!’ Yuan shouted inwardly, utterly bewildered.
Anna Grace and the others could only giggle softly as they followed them inside.
“Elder Sister, it seems you have brought some guests with you. Quite the surprise.”
As soon as Yuan and the others entered alongside Isolde, a male voice echoed from ahead.
Before them sat a handsome man on a sofa, calmly sipping a cup of blood, with a woman beside him. They appeared to be a couple.
“Hmm… how strange… why do I smell the scent of a human… interesting.” A faint, mysterious grin appeared on his face as he caught their scent.
“Henrick, behave, or I’ll break that face of yours and skin you a few times,” Isolde said with a vicious grin, her eyes briefly glowing.
Both Henrick and the woman beside him instantly fell silent. Their bodies trembled in horror, their hearts racing as if they had just stepped into a nightmare.
They exchanged uneasy glances before turning back to Isolde, swallowing nervously and nodding like obedient puppies.
Isolde then shifted her gaze toward the woman beside her younger brother. “Virella, order the servants to prepare tea for my honored guests.”
Virella nodded timidly and hurried away, her footsteps echoing before she vanished from sight.
“So, Elder Sister, who exactly are these honored guests of ours? Where did you meet them?” Henrick asked, studying Yuan and the others with a puzzled expression.
“Who they are doesn’t concern you. Just remember that I’ll skin you hundreds of times if you try anything funny,” Isolde replied coldly, not even sparing him a glance.
She sat down on the sofa and gestured for Yuan and the others to take their seats. Then she looked at her brother with a firm expression.
“You will go and prepare our soldiers for war. I want every soldier ready within three days, and I will not tolerate any delays.”
“War?? Are you out of your mind, Sister? Who in the world are we fighting?” Henrick rolled his eyes as if she had made a joke.
However, when he saw the seriousness on her face, he swallowed nervously. “A-Are you serious…? Who are we going to fight?”
“The Undead King and his army of millions,” Isolde replied.
“…” Henrick fell silent, taking several moments to process what she had just said.
“WHAT THE HELL DID YOU JUST SAY?!?!” Henrick shouted, jumping up from the sofa in shock, his eyes wide with disbelief.
“I’m serious…did you really think that I would joke about such a grave matter?” Isolde raised her brows as a sharp aura burst from her body.
“T-This is…How is this possible??” Henrick muttered in disbelief, feeling as though the world around him was spinning too fast.
After taking a deep breath, Isolde spoke again. “The Undead King and his massive army are drawing closer to the border with each passing day. A great war is upon us. We have already formed an alliance with the Demon Empire to fight alongside them.”
“It is only a matter of time before the war begins, and we must win if we wish to survive. You will focus on preparing our army and march toward the border with His Highness.”
“I will accompany Princess Nerith to seek alliances with the remaining two nations as soon as possible. I will only join the battle once I return to the border.” She finished her words with firm resolve.
“I-I understand, Sister.” Henrick nodded and immediately left the room, not daring to defy her command.
He knew all too well what his sister was capable of and had already endured countless “punishments” in the past for disobedience.
He neither possessed the strength nor the courage to face her anger again. The mere thought of it sent shivers down his spine, reviving memories of her brutal “training.”
It was in his best interest to follow every order without question, just like a servant obeying their master.
Once he left, Isolde turned to Yuan and said, “I have something important to discuss with you in private…would you mind coming with me? Alone?”
Hearing this, Yuan glanced toward his mother and the others, wondering how they would react. He had already faced his mother’s wrath once and certainly didn’t wish to experience it again.
“Go with her, Darling,” Anna Grace said with a small smile, nodding in approval.
“Sure. Let’s go,” Yuan replied, standing up from the sofa.
“Come, follow me,” Isolde said with a faint smile. Despite her composed exterior, her heart was pounding fiercely in her chest.
Once they left, Lily puffed her cheeks and sat beside Anna Grace with a frustrated expression, clearly jealous.
“That bloodsucking woman is really trying to seduce my brother. The nerve…!” she muttered under her breath, though everyone heard the jealousy in her voice.
“Calm down, Lily. It’s actually quite beneficial for us. We’ll gain another strong ally. And it seems Darling has taken a liking to her as well, so resisting now would be pointless,” Anna Grace said with a soft sigh.
Lily pouted and complained, “But she’s a vampire! She might suck him dry if left unchecked!”
“I don’t think she would harm Hubby. After all, even touching me is extremely dangerous for anyone,” Emma said with a gentle smile.
“Exactly! And he still insists on doing everything with you, even knowing he might lose his life,” Julie added with a playful wink.
Emma’s face instantly turned red, and everyone understood Julie’s implication. After all, Yuan’s shameless tendencies were well known among them.
Nerith, however, remained silent. She was lost in thought, reflecting on her own feelings toward Yuan. She had admired his strength and character ever since their duel.
Unfortunately, the crisis at the border prevented her from fully confronting those emotions. Every time she looked at him, her heart skipped a beat, and her body reacted in ways she could not understand.
’Should I give myself to him…or should I place the war above everything else?’ she questioned silently, searching for an answer within her own heart.
