My Celestial Ascension - Chapter 935 935: A Disappointment

The entire chamber fell silent, and a chilling atmosphere slowly spread throughout the room.
King Vargan looked distressed after figuring out the danger on his own. He had finally realized the seriousness of the situation.
“Is it about ‘them’?” He asked with a grave expression, his eyes fixed on Nerith as he waited for confirmation.
“Unfortunately… it is indeed ‘them’,” Nerith nodded with a serious expression. “And this time, the situation is much more complicated. We have no choice but to wage war against them if we want to survive.”
“I came here to inform you about the danger, and also to ask you to cooperate with us in defending the border from the undead,” Nerith continued.
“I see… It appears the Vampire Kingdom has already decided to cooperate with the Demon Empire. What about the Succubus Kingdom?” He asked after briefly glancing at Isolde.
“They have also agreed to cooperate with us and have already begun mobilizing their warriors.”
“In that case, we will give it our all to defend the border.” King Vargan said after pondering for a moment.
This was not some minor conflict or small war—it was a matter of survival. Once the undead crossed the border, it would only be a matter of time before they began slaughtering every living being on the continent.
No one would be safe once the undead crossed the border. Chaos would spread across the entire continent, turning every living being into an undead creature and leaving nothing but devastation in its wake.
“Pretty quick to decide. In that case, mobilize your forces as soon as possible and head toward the border. Things are about to become serious very soon.” Nerith said with a small smile.
As soon as Nerith finished speaking, the heavy metal door suddenly swung open, and a handsome young man walked into the chamber.
He had a wild expression on his face and carried himself with the attitude of someone spoiled and arrogant. His steps were hurried as he entered, and his attention was immediately drawn to Nerith and Isolde.
“Well, well… would you look at that. Two beautiful ladies standing right here while I’ve been searching the entire city for them.” He began to laugh while staring at Nerith and Isolde as if he had discovered a valuable prize.
He was so excited to see the two beautiful women that he completely ignored Yuan’s presence. His gaze remained entirely fixed on them.
“Hey, ladies. How about we head to my chamber and chat? There are drinks too.” He said without even glancing at his father—the King. All that filled his mind was getting closer to these two women.
A disgusted expression appeared on both Nerith and Isolde’s faces the moment they saw the man staring at them with blatant lust.
King Vargan placed his palm against his face upon witnessing the extremely rude behavior of his son in front of his guests, further damaging his already terrible reputation.
‘This bastard! Why does he have to appear now of all times?! Shouldn’t he be training right now?!’ Rage flashed across his face as he watched his son behave so shamelessly in front of his guests.
“Your Majesty, is this your so-called First Prince? I must say his reputation matches perfectly with his character.” Isolde said to King Vargan, staring straight into his eyes with a dangerous look.
Turning toward Prince Lykan, she muttered coldly, “He is quite the disappointment in my eyes.”
Upon hearing this, Lykan became extremely furious. His eyes glowed with rage as his body began transforming into a humanoid wolf.
“Who do you think you are to judge me, woman?!” He roared at Isolde, sharp claws extending as his thunderous voice made the air tremble.
Yuan raised his brows, and in the next instant a crushing pressure descended upon the chamber, slamming Prince Lykan against the floor so forcefully that the stone beneath him cracked.
“Keep your voice down, little mutt. Or else I’ll skin you alive and make a fine fur coat out of your hide.” Yuan spoke calmly, yet his voice carried an overwhelming authority.
A chill ran down the Werewolf King’s spine the moment Yuan spoke those words. He could feel the pressure as well, and it was utterly terrifying.
‘Just who is this human?! And what the hell is this terrifying pressure?!’ He cried inwardly, his entire body screaming warnings about the danger before him.
Meanwhile, Prince Lykan had already lost consciousness after being slammed against the cold floor by Yuan’s overwhelming pressure, and many of his bones had been broken by the force.
Blood leaked from several parts of his body as he lay unconscious on the ground, looking disheveled and completely broken.
“Sigh… Forgive me for showing such embarrassment to you all. I failed to educate my son properly. I have failed as a father…” King Vargan said with a deep sigh, his voice low as he watched his son lying there in such a miserable state.
In truth, he did not hate or resent Yuan for teaching his foolish son a lesson. In fact, he felt somewhat relieved that someone had finally forced the boy to recognize his place.
Because he had spoiled his son too much when he was young, Lykan had grown arrogant and began doing whatever pleased him without restraint.
Unfortunately, no one in the kingdom had the courage to correct him, since he was the First Prince of the Werewolf Kingdom and the direct descendant of the Alpha.
He was destined to inherit the throne one day, and since no one wanted to offend the future Alpha, everyone chose to tolerate his behavior and even began to curry favor with him.
And now, at last, someone had stepped forward and put Lykan in his place. Perhaps this would finally remind him not to remain arrogant forever.
‘Hopefully this foolish son of mine learns his lesson today and becomes a capable ruler for this land in the future…’ King Vargan thought with a quiet sigh.
“Someone, take this fool to his chamber and treat his wounds. He has suffered internal injuries, and his healing factor is practically useless at this point.” He called out to one of the servants stationed outside the chamber.
Immediately, two attendants entered and carried the prince away without saying a word.
‘Well, it seems even the King himself is tired of his son’s behavior… that’s actually good for us.’ Nerith thought, feeling slightly relieved after seeing Vargan’s reaction.
At first, she had expected him to become enraged and attack them. However, she had misjudged him. In fact, King Vargan seemed almost relieved, even if he didn’t openly show it.
“Since we have achieved our goal for coming here, we will take our leave now,” Isolde said to King Vargan.
“Before you leave, could you explain what your relationship with this human is? I must admit, I am quite curious.” King Vargan said, looking at Yuan with great interest.
“He is our fiancé. We have already promised to become his wives.” Nerith replied with a slight blush on her face, stealing a quick glance at Yuan.
“…” The Werewolf King was stunned upon hearing this and immediately turned to Isolde for confirmation.
Isolde nodded with a gentle smile, a faint blush also appearing on her face as she acknowledged the truth. Since she had already decided to become his woman, she no longer felt embarrassed about admitting it.
“U-Unbelievable… A demon and a vampire in love with a human… this is truly unheard of.” King Vargan muttered, disbelief clearly written across his face.
“Since we have told you about our relationship with him, we will take our leave now.” Nerith said before turning around and leaving the chamber.
Yuan and Isolde followed closely behind as they exited the Werewolf King’s manor.
After leaving the Werewolf Kingdom, they headed directly toward the Demon Empire, as they had already gathered the allied forces needed to resist the coming invasion of the undead.
After nearly half a day of continuous travel, they finally returned to the Demon Empire. The empire had already fallen into chaos as the movement of soldiers throughout the capital became constant and intense.
Huge trenches had been dug around the city, forming defensive traps meant to slow down the undead should they ever breach the border.
Many temporary shelters had also been constructed in the open areas within the city to house nearby villagers. The streets had become crowded with people as many refugees poured into the city in search of safety.
