My Cuckhold System - Chapter 133: An Army

Chapter 133: An Army
West cracked his knuckles, Jax stretched his shoulders and Gor’thala released a deep rumbling growl.
Across the chamber, the Butcher lifted its weapon again.
The Supreme Leader slowly lifted its elongated head as Several of its eyes blinked independently while the others focused forward, staring down at West and the small group gathered behind him.
Then it let out a long, low whistle.
The noise was strange, thin and piercing, yet deep enough to vibrate through the cavern walls.
Immediately afterward, it began speaking again in its strange alien tongue like multiple voices overlapping one another.
West couldn’t understand the language itself, but the system translated it instantly.
『 “None shall stop our advent to reclaim the surface… which you call the upper layers.” 』
The creature’s voice carried a cold certainty.
『 “This time we are ready for the humans.” 』
Its many eyes slowly scanned the battlefield.
『 “My army is ready.” 』
For a moment, nothing happened and then the entire chamber began to tremble.
A distant rumbling spread through the stone.
At first it sounded like a storm rolling across distant mountains but then, the noise grew louder and louder, until it became clear what it really was…
Flapping wings…
The sound of frantic flapping echoed through the cavern like an approaching hurricane.
West’s eyes narrowed.
“What the hell…?”
Then the walls exploded inward as massive holes began opening along the stone walls of the chamber.
Even the ceiling split apart as circular tunnels opened everywhere.
Through the holes, the distant expanse of the third layer above became visible.
West and everyone else spun sideways frantically, staring at the tens of holes… something was pouring through them.
The first creature burst through one of the holes with a shrill screech and Jax instinctively tensed.
“What the hell is that thing?”
The creature looked grotesque with round and fleshy body that had a single massive eye dominating the center of its head. Four large wings beat rapidly as it hovered in the air.
Below its body dangled several clawed tentacles, each ending in hooked talons that snapped hungrily.
Another creature just like the first flew in… and then, another… then ten more… then dozens…
Soon the air above the chamber filled with them.
The creatures screeched wildly as they poured through the holes like a living storm.
West’s eyes widened slightly.
“…You’ve got to be kidding me.”
But it didn’t stop there.
As the flying creatures continued pouring in from the walls and ceiling, the ground-level tunnels began filling with movement as well.
More of the four-foot creatures crawled into the chamber and numbers multiplied rapidly.
What had once been forty quickly became fifty… then seventy… and then over a hundred.
The chamber was turning into a sea of monsters.
West counted briefly before giving up…
There were too many.
The Supreme Leader observed the gathering army with several of its eyes glowing faintly and then its expression changed slightly to discontent.
Its eyes narrowed as itmuttered something quietly in its alien tongue.
The system translated again.
『 “Where are the others?” 』
The creature looked toward several of the holes and its tone grew irritated.
『 “The numbers are lower than they should.” 』
Apparently, the swarm arriving wasn’t the full force it had anticipated.
It had expected more than twice the number present but even so, the chamber was already overflowing with enemies.
To West, who had no idea what the expected number had been, the amount present already seemed insane…
Elsewhere in the ruin…
Far away from the chamber…
A very different scene unfolded.
—
Seraphyra stood waist-deep in a strange, sticky liquid.
The substance clung to her body like thick resin as it slowly rippled around her legs.
The environment was grotesque. The cavern she stood in was enormous and dimly lit by faint green bioluminescence.
But what filled the space were hundreds or maybe thousands of cocoons.
Large, oval-shaped sacs hung from the ceiling and walls like enormous eggs.
A few were still intact but many had already been destroyed.
The ground around Seraphyra was littered with torn cocoon shells.
Some had clearly been ripped apart from the inside.
While most were blasted open violently because Seraphyra herself had destroyed more than half of them.
Her eyes followed the movement above.
The same one-eyed flying creatures burst from the remaining cocoons one after another.
Their wings unfurled as they screeched and launched into the air before flying upward toward distant tunnels leading away from the chamber.
Seraphyra clicked her tongue with an expression that showed clear disgust.
“…Disgusting.”
She glanced around at the remaining cocoons.
There were still quite the number and even after destroying more than half of them, many others remained intact.
More creatures were still hatching. Her gaze followed the swarm flying away into the distance.
“…Master is in trouble.”
She could tell that these creatures were flying in the direction of wherever he was.
Seraphyra stepped forward through the sticky liquid, sending thick ripples through the viscous substance with her movements.
“I must get to him.”
Without hesitation, she shot forward, moving quickly in the same direction the creatures had flown.
The cavern shook slightly as she left the cocoon chamber behind.
—
Back in the main chamber.
West stared at the overwhelming swarm of monsters and then he turned toward Jax.
“Stay at the rear.”
Jax blinked.
“What?”
West spoke calmly.
“Your objective right now is simple.”
He pointed behind them.
“Don’t die.”
Jax opened his mouth to protest but instead he snorted.
“…Wow. Great plan leaving me out of the fight like I didn’t just save your ass.”
Still, he raised both hands and activated one of his abilities.
Ice spread rapidly across his arms, forming thick glacial gauntlets around his fists. Plates of translucent ice expanded across his torso and shoulders, forming a sturdy armor shell.
“Fine,” Jax said with a crooked grin. “But if I die I’m blaming you.”
West turned toward Gor’thala.
“You can fight,” he stated before adding firmly,
“But your priority is protecting him.”
Gor’thala nodded silently.
“Summon all the Verdant Pyre Behemoths you can.”
The moment West gave the command, Gor’thala raised a hand and greenish circles erupted across the ground.
Massive flaming beasts rose from the blazing summoning circles and soon ten Verdant Pyre Behemoths stood ready.
The cavern floor glowed with emerald fire beneath their paws.
West turned toward the armored Knight.
“You can aim for the Butcher,” West said as his gaze briefly flicked toward the massive creature standing near the Supreme Leader.
“Make sure he doesn’t become a nuisance.”
The Knight nodded calmly and drew his massive saber.
“I shall handle it.”
West exhaled slowly before reaching into his inventory.
A small vial appeared in his hand.
The 2× Power Booster.
Without hesitation, he drank it.
The liquid burned like lightning traveling through his veins as system notifications exploded across his vision.
[System Notification]
Item Consumed: 2× Power Booster
Duration: 10 minutes
Effect: All primary stats doubled.
West could feel his regular power as an awakened and substats double instantly.
He clenched his fists.
In this state… he felt invincible… everything around him seemed to move in slower motion and even his focus was more refined like he could feel every movement in the distance like everything was an extension of his own body.
He had already surpassed the Butcher’s level but that wasn’t enough… he wanted more.
So he proceeded to activate a skill.
A second notification layered over the first as West activated adrenal control.
[Skill Activated: Adrenal Control]
Effect: +25 to all sub-stats
Duration: 3 Minutes
A violent rush surged through his body as his substats increased again.
For three minutes, he would be moving far beyond his normal limits.
Across the chamber, the Supreme Leader lifted its head and gave the command to attack.
Hundreds of creatures charged at once in the direction of the ones who had dared to enter their domain.
However, the Supreme Leader suddenly frowned.
West was no longer standing where he had been a moment ago.
Before it could react, it felt a sharp and terrifying force tearing through the air behind it.
