Chapter 134: Final Battle
West’s boots slammed against the ground as he thrust the massive blade forward with everything he had left from the Supreme Leader’s rear.
The attack came with terrifying force.
Even boosted, even empowered nearly threefold beyond his original strength, West still knew the being before him was not something that could be underestimated…
The blade tore through the air and at the last possible moment, the Supreme Leader turned around with its blueish fingers shooting forward like lightning.
They grabbed the sword just inches before it could plunge through its chest.
For a brief second, the entire chamber went still… then a deep, unnatural icy glow spread from the creature’s fingers, creeping across the metal of the massive sword.
Crystalline frost rapidly spread along the blade.
West’s eyes narrowed but he wasn’t surprised… he already knew what this creature was capable of.
However, in the next instant th dark mist constantly leaking from the giant weapon suddenly reacted violently…
It hissed, churned and then the frost began to rot away like acid eating through fragile glass.
The creeping frost cracked apart, dissolving into blackened vapor.
For the first time, the Supreme Leader showed shock.
West took this milliseconds shock as an opportunity and he pushed.
“RAAAAAAH!”
His muscles expanded ripping through his uniform as the sheer strength behind the push caused both of them to explode across the chamber like a launched missile.
Stone shattered beneath their feet and pillars splintered as dozens of the surrounding creatures were sent flying while the two streaked across the room in a blur.
BOOOOOM!
They smashed into the far wall and the impact cracked the entire chamber.
Before the creature could react, West forced the blade forward with a savage roar.
The massive sword plunged through the Supreme Leader’s shoulder and embedded itself deep into the wall behind it, pinning the creature in place.
A horrific, distorted shriek erupted from its throat.
The sound echoed through the chamber like metal tearing apart and every creature in the room reacted immediately, vibrating as if they felt the pain as well.
Without hesitation, West’s fist came down.
BOOM!
The punch smashed into the creature’s abdomen causing the wall to shake.
BOOM!
He sent out another strike and cracks spread across the rough and uneven wall behind.
BOOM!
He struck again…
Each punch was like a detonating cannon causing shockwaves to ripple through the chamber.
The Supreme Leader’s body jerked violently with every hit but the surrounding creatures were already moving.
They dove forward in dozens with their tentacles whipping through the air as they descended upon West.
Even though Gor’thala, the ten Verdant Pyre Behemoths, and Jax fought desperately to keep them back, there were simply too many.
Several slipped past the defensive line and in the next moment, they arrived before West.
Tentacles tipped with clawed hooks lashed toward West from every direction.
“Tch,”
West clicked his tongue in annoyance as he yanked one of the writhing tentacles out of the air and spun.
The creature attached to the tentacle was instantly pulled from its initial position as West rotated with speed.
The creature became a living weapon as he swung it around like a helicopter blade.
WHAM! WHAM! WHAM!
Its body smashed into the others around him and the sounds of bones shattering and heads bursting apart rang out.
Several creatures were flung across the chamber like ragdolls and soon the creature he held was nothing more than a bloody mess, missing almost every body part.
West let go and then suddenly leapt into the air.
He traveled nearly thirty feet across the air and grabbed one of the creatures by the head.
Instantly, he spiked it downward.
BOOOOM!
The impact crushed it against a nearby pillar and its skull exploded apart, showering the floor in fragments.
Two tentacles managed to strike him from behind.
SLAM!
The hits landed against his back and West staggered a step as more tentacles lashed forward.
Nearly sixty attacks were raining towards him at once.
Fwwhhiiiii~
West body blurred as he twisted between strikes, ducking, swerving and pivot to evade.
His fists became weapons of devastation as he swung them powerfully.
CRACK!
One creature’s head collapsed inward.
RIP!
Another was torn in half.
SMASH!
A third was sent flying across the room.
His movements were inhumanly fast.
In mere seconds the creatures that had broken through were reduced to mangled corpses and twitching limbs scattered across the ground.
West exhaled slowly as he turned.
He instantly froze in place upon noticing that the wall was empty.
The Supreme Leader was gone.
The massive sword had fallen to the floor with a metallic clang and dark blood pooled beneath it.
West’s head snapped in the direction of the throne and he spotted the Supreme Leader sprinting.
Its wounded body dashed toward the pool of blood beside the throne with chains dangling body parts above it.
West’s eyes narrowed upon realizing what this meant..
“Not happening…”
He bent down and grabbed the massive sword.
In the past, he could barely lift it with one hand but now it felt weightless…
West launched forward causing the floor to crack beneath his feet as he accelerated.
Fwwwhoooommmm!
Anything in his path died as the giant blade slashed again and again.
Creatures were sliced apart…
Bodies fell in halves…
Limbs scattered across the floor as he closed the distance rapidly.
The Supreme Leader was one step away from reaching the blood pool when West swung.
A massive arc of black energy erupted from the swing, cutting through the air with terrifying power.
The Supreme Leader turned upon sensing the danger but it was too late.
BOOOOM!
The arc slammed into it and its body was blasted off the ground as it flew backward like a cannonball.
The supreme leader smashed straight through the far wall and stone exploded outward.
The creature vanished into a newly formed tunnel beyond the chamber.
West didn’t pause, he jumped straight forward through the hole, arriving inside the tunnel—
The Supreme Leader finally stopped retreating as its blueish fingers elongated once more.
They stretched like spears, striking at West.
West ducked the first strike, swerved to evade another which slashed past his face and parried the third with the massive sword.
The fingers collided with the blade and frost instantly formed across the metal, only to rot away again under the dark mist.
The Supreme Leader hissed and attacked relentlessly like a mad wounded dog that had been forced against the wall.
Its fingers lashed through the narrow tunnel like serpents.
West dodged and countered as their battle turned into a blur.
Rocks shattered and the tunnel walls cracked as chunks of rock collapsed while their fight pushed deeper into the passage.
Despite its injuries, the Supreme Leader was still terrifying.
West knew one thing clearly… if those fingers touched him, the frost would cripple him again.
So he stayed just outside their reach, making sure that the fingers never made contact with his skin.
Meanwhile, back in the chamber, Gor’thala stood before Jax with her staff in her hands.
She planted it firmly against the ground and a burst of fiery energy erupted outward.
Spell after spell surged from her position, blasting apart the approaching creatures.
Jax fought beside her using his Glacial Sovereign bloodline.
Frost storms burst from his hands sending shots of ice spears through the air.
Creatures were punctured and froze solid before shattering apart.
Nearby, the Knight faced the Butcher.
The monstrous creature swung violently, smashed down its axe like weapon again and again.
Each strike released waves of freezing power causing frost to spread across the Knight’s armor but it did nothing.
The frost simply cracked apart and fell away while the Knight staggered back by half a feet each time, watching silently.
After a few exchanges, they nodded slightly.
“Battle pattern recorded successfully…”
They spoke with a calm and strange voice beneath the helm.
“…neutralising target.”
The saber in their hand suddenly erupted with a brilliant sunlike glow and in the next instant, a streak of blinding light shot forward…
And then another…
And then another…
The Knight moved around the Butcher at impossible speed causing lines of glowing to motion flash across the battlefield.
Suddenly, the Knight returned to their original position and calmly sheathed the saber silently.
A second later, the Butcher’s body fell apart as dozens of clean slices appeared across its form…
Its entire body exploded into chunks, collapsing into diced flesh across the ground.
Jax stared in disbelief from a distance.
“…yeah.”
He swallowed.
“I’m really glad they’re on our side.”
The Knight simply turned toward the remaining creatures and joined the fight.
Together, they began wiping out the remaining swarm.
Meanwhile inside the tunnel, the Supreme Leader suddenly stopped retreating.
Its body trembled as power began to radiate from it.
West immediately felt it as the creature’s aura began to climb.
Something dangerous was happening like the being was about to unleash something and this reminded West of the butcher using that charge which raised its power level…
Only that in this case, the Supreme Leader body features were writhing and transforming…
West’s eyes sharpened instantly realizing as he raised his hand.
“Verdant Bloom.”

Green light erupted beneath the Supreme Leader’s feet as very thick vines burst from the stone floor.
They wrapped around the Supreme Leader instantly, each being twice as wide as a full grown adult’s torso.
The bindings were far stronger than usual thanks to West’s boosted state…
The creature struggled but the vines held it in place for just a moment… and that moment was enough.
West body turned into a streak as he shot forward with unprecedented speed with his blade extended.
The tunnel echoed with the sound of a blade cutting through flesh and in the next instant, silence returned.
West stood still with blood dripping slowly onto the rough tunnel floor.
In his hand, he held the severed head of the Supreme Leader.
