West kept his head down.
He was extremely glad he had slipped away from the ruins before reporters arrived.
If anyone realized he was the so called mysterious apprentice, the streets would look very different right now.
Although, fame would be good now that he was creating his own gang, this type of fame wasn’t what he needed. All the glory would go to the Dragon Fang Gang.
He needed the type of fame that would outline his own Gang and attract more awakened to join after he made things official.
He reached his apartment building a few minutes later enjoying the quiet peaceful hallway that vastly contrasted the noisy city outside.
West unlocked his door and stepped inside but immediately froze upon spotting someone sitting on his sofa.
Long dark hair… crossed legs and a calm posture…
This was none other than Miss Zu Li.
West slowly closed the door behind him before letting out a sigh.
“…Yeah.”
“I saw this coming.”
Zu Li glanced at him from the couch.
“You could have at least waited at the door,” West added.
She raised one eyebrow.
“You could have at least called before using my name.”
West set the grocery bags on the kitchen counter.
“…Fair point.”
Zu Li leaned back slightly on the sofa, studying him carefully with her eyes.
“I don’t understand you.”
West grabbed a bottle of water and leaned against the counter.
“What part?”
Her gaze sharpened slightly.
“You berate me.”
“You insult me.”
“You make it very clear that you dislike me and want nothing to do with me.”
Her voice remained calm.
“And yet…”
She gestured toward him.
“…you publicly declare yourself my apprentice.”
West scratched the back of his head.
“Yeah…”
“I guess that does sound weird.”
“Weird?” she repeated.
“I have received twelve calls today.”
West blinked.
“From who?”
“Other gang leaders.”
She sighed lightly.
“They were congratulating me.”
West almost choked on his water.
“For what?”
“For supposedly acquiring a once-in-a-century prodigy.”
She leaned forward slightly.
“Three branches.”
Her eyes studied him closely.
“I verified the rumor myself.”
“You really do have three branches.”
West shrugged slightly.
“Guess I got lucky.”
Zu Li stared at him silently for a moment.
“…Do you understand how rare that is?”
“Apparently very.”
“There hasn’t been a confirmed three-branch awakened in over a hundred years.”
She shook her head slowly.
“It had practically become a myth.”
West rubbed his temple.
“Well… sorry for dragging your name into it.”
Zu Li leaned back again.
“You insult me for weeks.”
“You refuse every offer I give you.”
“And then you use my reputation to scare off gang members.”
West raised both hands.
“Hey, to be fair, it worked.”
She stared at him.
“…You are unbelievable.”
West sighed.
“Look.”
He walked over and sat across from her.
“I genuinely apologize.”
Her eyes narrowed slightly.
“You do?”
“Yeah.”
He leaned back casually.
“I shouldn’t have used your name after constantly rejecting you.”
Zu Li watched him carefully.
“…Then how do you intend to make it up to me?”
West rolled his eyes. “Of course, now you wanna exploit me. But fine, I guess I do owe you one.”
He turned to look at her again.
“You can ask me for anything.”
Her eyebrows lifted slightly.
“Anything?”
“Almost anything.”
He raised one finger.
“Except joining the Dragon Fang Gang.”
Zu Li stared at him for a few seconds before letting out a soft but genuine laugh.
“You are very stubborn.”
“I get that a lot.”
She crossed her legs again thoughtfully.
“So you are serious.”
“Completely.”
“You will grant me any request… except that one.”
West nodded while Zu Li leaned back into the sofa.
Her expression turned thoughtful.
“…Interesting.”
Silence filled the room for a few seconds.
West grabbed one of the grocery bags and started unpacking items into the fridge casually like he didn’t have a guest over.
Milk… Eggs… Vegetables and a couple other items.
Behind him, Zu Li spoke again.
“You know…”
Her tone was calmer now.
“I might actually take you up on that offer.”
West glanced back.
“Oh?”
She stood up slowly from the sofa causing her heels to click softly against the floor as she walked toward him.
Then she stopped a few steps away, locking eyes with him.
“There is something I want.”
West crossed his arms.
“What is it?”
A small mysterious smile appeared on her lips, painting her beautiful face with extra attractiveness.
“I’ll be touch… Just be ready.”
With that Miss Zu li turned around to leave with her hips swaying behind her sexily after every powerful stride.

Friday arrived with a strange mix of energy and melancholy hanging over the school.
Only one week remained before Class 3 graduated, and under normal circumstances the entire campus would have been buzzing with excitement. Students should have been celebrating nonstop, talking about parties, college plans, and their futures.
Instead, the mood was uneven.
The excitement was there… but something heavy lingered beneath it.
Every student in Class 3 still remembered the Eternal Ruins trip just a week ago.
Two desks in the classroom remained empty.
No one had moved Emily’s chair and Calvin’s locker was still untouched.
Even the loudest students had learned to speak a little softer when passing by those places.
Still, life moved forward.
Teachers continued lessons, graduation preparations continued, and the final week before their high school life ended slowly ticked closer.
By midday, the hallways were packed with students moving between classes.
West walked casually down the quieter faculty hallway, hands in his pockets.
This part of the school was technically restricted for students, but no one bothered questioning him anymore.
He pushed open the door to the teachers’ restroom.
It was far cleaner than the student bathrooms and almost always empty.
“Much better,” West muttered to himself.
He washed his hands slowly, glancing at his reflection in the mirror.
Things had changed a lot in a short amount of time… his chest had broadened, his jawline was much sharper, his eyes deeper, his muscles were outlining themselves through his school uniform and he had crossed six feet in height…
