- Chapter 149 103: You Slept There Last Night, It's My Turn Tonight

“I had no choice. I had to be thorough. You think it was easy to get Chen Yuan to believe all this?”
“Alright, alright. So what happened?”
Jiangg Ning stepped forward, her eyes filled with anticipation.
“What do you think?” Jiangg Yao plopped onto the sofa, picked up the glass of warm water, and took a few sips. She glanced smugly at her sister. “Of course he agreed. With my brilliant mind—”
Before she could finish, Jiangg Ning slapped her on the thigh, making Jiangg Yao cry out in pain.
“That’s great. Now that we’re past this hurdle, we don’t have to worry about our cover being blown anymore. You can be yourself, and I don’t have to feel so guilty.”
“Hmph, it’s all thanks to my idea. Otherwise, it wouldn’t have been this easy.”
“Alright, alright. Yaoyao, you’re so smart. You really get the credit for this one.”
Jiangg Ning gently patted her sister’s head. Then, she stood up, picked up her phone, and held out a hand toward her.
Her fair palm was slightly curled, as if asking for something.
“What for?” Jiangg Yao asked, confused.
“Give me the phone. From now on, we’ll both use the Green Bubble account, just like we discussed.” Jiangg Ning felt the request was perfectly reasonable, speaking to her sister in a level tone. “During this ‘love game,’ all messages with Chen Yuan must be completely transparent and shared between us.”
“It’s not like I won’t give it to you… What’s the rush?”
Jiangg Yao pouted and reluctantly pulled the phone from her pocket. She let her sister scan the QR code to log in and enabled sharing.
From now on, whenever Chen Yuan sent a message,
both of them would get a notification. Thanks to cloud sync, even deleting a message would be useless.
She had finally gotten what she’d been longing for.
Jiangg Ning was overjoyed. Though her expression remained unchanged, the longing and anticipation that shone in her eyes as she gazed at the chat interface were utterly sincere and pure.
The sight made Jiangg Yao roll her eyes. ‘It’s just a way to contact him.’
‘Getting *this* happy over it!’
‘So pathetic…’
But how could she know? Seeing that chat screen filled her sister’s heart with boundless tenderness. Jiangg Ning was remembering the all-night phone calls from their online dating days… Countless syrupy-sweet memories came flooding back.
It felt like something lost for a very, very long time had finally been recovered.
How could she not be happy?
“Since things have come to this, Yaoyao, we’re basically two grasshoppers on the same string now. The most important thing is to get through these next three months safely and find out the final answer.” Jiangg Ning put down her phone and spoke earnestly with her sister.
“Exactly,” Jiangg Yao agreed with a nod.
“Then we need to lay down some ground rules,” Jiangg Ning said sincerely. “First, starting today, we have to dress identically to avoid blowing our cover.”
“I’m fine with that.”
“Second, during this ‘romance,’ we are not allowed to hide any information from each other. We must be fair and impartial.”
“OK. I definitely won’t hide things from you. I was afraid you wouldn’t agree before, but now that we’re in the same boat, there’s no need to hide anything.”
“Good. And third: you can try to win him over, and I’ll do the same, but neither of us is allowed to intentionally bad-mouth the other or use dirty tricks to get in the other’s way. Can you agree to that?”
“Of course. I always play fair.”
Jiangg Yao suddenly sat up straight. ‘With the terms laid out so clearly, who would be afraid of a fair competition?’
‘She couldn’t wait for a day like this to come!’
Jiangg Yao had never once thought her sister was more charming than her, which was the main reason she hadn’t refused the “love game” in the first place.
“Then it’s settled. Since we have the afternoon free, let’s go buy clothes. Aren’t we going to Sanya tomorrow?”
“Right. I’m going to Sanya with Chen Yuan.”
“No, no, no. *We* are going together.”
“…Fine. *We*.”
“No time to waste! Let’s go buy vacation clothes right now!”
Jiangg Ning shot up from the sofa and hurried to the bathroom to wash up and put on makeup. Jiangg Yao sprang into action right behind her, squeezing past her sister in the bathroom.
“What are you doing? There’s plenty of room, why do you have to crowd me?”
Her sister shot her a glare, grabbed a face mask, and headed for the bedroom.
To say the least,
the two sisters were incredibly excited for this trip. It would be their first time ever going away with a boyfriend!
An experience neither had ever had before—how could they not be thrilled and excited?
And so, they began to prepare with nervous energy, occasionally sharing their thoughts with each other.
“Hey… do you think if we stay in the same hotel room… anything, you know, *naughty* will happen?”
“I don’t know. Chen Yuan is eighteen, after all. It’d be normal for him to have those kinds of thoughts.”
“So what should we do? Act reserved? Or just refuse him…?”
“You’re asking me? I don’t know either.” Jiangg Ning had her face mask on, so her expression was unreadable. Her sister’s cheeks, however, were clearly flushed, likely from imagining just such a scenario. Jiangg Ning suddenly looked at her. “Just don’t be too brazen when you’re with him. He’s still so young.”
“I know…” Jiangg Yao said unconvincingly, puffing out her cheeks in a pout. “I’ll know where the line is.”
“Heh. I’ve yet to see you show any restraint.”
The content of their conversation was bizarre and utterly shocking.
Who could have imagined that these sisters would actually one day be sharing the same boyfriend?
Moreover, Jiangg Ning and Jiangg Yao didn’t seem to think there was anything wrong with it. As they spoke, they fell into a rapport that only twins possess. It was just… a very bizarre kind of rapport.
From a moral standpoint, their actions were wrong.
And from a practical standpoint, their morals were wrong.
Poor Chen Yuan knew nothing of this. He was at home, carefully researching the illness Jiangg Yao had fabricated on his laptop. As he scrolled through the information, his eyes filled with deep concern.
“One must be sufficiently tolerant and patient when dealing with a mentally ill person, and try one’s best to be understanding of their behavior.”
Chen Yuan silently jotted it down in his notebook.
…
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK—
A knock came from the door.
Chen Yuan had been so engrossed in researching travel plans that the knock startled him. Looking up from his computer, he realized the sky outside had already grown dark.
He had just stepped out of his room when he saw his girlfriend standing in the entryway, holding a large, delicious-looking meal.
Under the light, she was breathtakingly beautiful. Her hair was tied up in a bun, and she wore a pink jacket over a white miniskirt, exuding a youthful energy.
“I was holding this, so it was a little awkward to knock. I just let myself in after a few tries…” she said, looking at Chen Yuan cautiously.
Chen Yuan hurried over and took the fragrant dinner from her. Lettuce was drizzled with hot oil, and countless peppercorns were scattered evenly over the tender meat.
“You made this?”
“Yes, I did.” Jiangg Ning pursed her lips and tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear, her movements full of a mature woman’s gentle beauty.
“It smells amazing. I’m suddenly starving.”
The two of them sat down together, and Chen Yuan praised her sincerely.
“I’m glad you like it.”
“Ningning?”
“Mm-hm.”
‘Incredible,’ Chen Yuan thought. ‘I was right. This temperament and personality can only belong to Jiangg Ning. Besides, Yaoyao can’t cook. I witnessed her ‘culinary skills’ last time.’
‘This multiple personality thing really is fascinating.’
‘They’re like two completely different people. If I hadn’t been experiencing it firsthand for all these days, I would never have believed it.’
“Oh, there’s rice too. I’ll go get it.” Jiangg Ning had just sat down when she remembered and prepared to go get it from across the hall.
“Wait…”
Suddenly, Chen Yuan grabbed her hand.
“What is it?”
“Why don’t you… sleep here tonight? We can plan the trip for tomorrow, and we won’t have to get tired from typing on Green Bubble.”
“O… okay.”
Jiangg Ning’s cheeks flushed slightly. She nodded shyly and, with a complete lack of backbone, agreed.
After saying that, she scurried back to her own apartment.
Just then, Jiangg Yao was in the spare bedroom, stuffing her face. Hearing a noise, she curiously cracked open the door to peek.
“Yaoyao, I’m not coming back tonight! Don’t wait up for me, just go to bed whenever!”
Jiangg Ning called out in a hushed voice.
“What!?”
Jiangg Yao immediately threw the door open and rushed over. “You slept at Chen Yuan’s last night, and now you’re doing it again? Are you getting addicted?!”
“He’s the one who asked. I couldn’t say no.”
“Impossible! How come he never asks me to stay over? You must have used some trick to seduce him.”
Jiangg Ning shot her a cold glance, completely dismissive of her frantic sister.
“Bye.”
“You! Get back here!”
But before Jiangg Yao could reach out to stop her, her sister was already out the door. With a BANG, the door to the opposite apartment slammed shut.
Leaving the younger sister standing all alone in the living room.
“You got to sleep there last night! Tonight was supposed to be my turn!” Jiangg Yao yelled into the empty air.
