Chapter 165: Chapter 109: Just Fell in Love with the Same Person (3)
“Hurry up! I heard this aquarium is huge, even bigger than the ones I saw abroad. It’s one of the newest ones, built in the last few years.”
“Really? Did you read that in a guide? I’ve never been to an aquarium before.”
“Yep. You’ll see once we’re done. The ocean is such a magical thing, able to create all sorts of weird and wonderful fish.”
She swung Chen Yuan’s hand, her steps growing light and quick.
But Jiangg Ning still wasn’t as energetic as Yaoyao. If this were Jiangg Yao, she would have been bouncing up and down by now.
Entering the aquarium’s main hall, they headed for Tunnel 4. The area immediately grew crowded. There were many families on vacation, with parents holding the hands of their excited children. Couples were also out in force.
Everyone’s faces were beaming with happiness; it seemed they were all here for their winter break.
A young woman in an aquarium staff uniform stood to the side, speaking unhurriedly into a megaphone. “Everyone, please hold on tight to your children’s hands. Don’t get separated after you enter the aquarium. If you can’t find your child, please contact the nearest staff member immediately. Every year we have parents who lose track of their kids, so please be extra careful!”
“Got ’em tight!” a stubbled, middle-aged man replied, hoisting up his child who was wearing a little yellow hat.
“Did you hear that? No running around once we’re inside,” a young mother said, lightly tapping her giggling child as a reminder.
Chen Yuan glanced at Jiangg Ning beside him.
“You need to hold my hand tight and not run off, little Ningning.”
His gentle voice reached Jiangg Ning’s ears.
“Got it tight!”
Before she could even answer, Chen Yuan suddenly raised their joined hands. His shout drew the eyes of many people nearby.
A series of good-natured chuckles rippled through the parents, and some couples sweetly tightened their own grips.
“Well then, I hope everyone has a wonderful time. Prepare to enter this magical blue world!”
The towering, sealed doors suddenly swung open, revealing a dark and deep tunnel. A single lamp overhead cast a faint glow. The crowd filed in one after another, looking around with immense curiosity.
Amidst the clamorous shouts of many children, Jiangg Ning and Chen Yuan also walked deeper inside, hand in hand. Less than a minute later, a light suddenly appeared before them, and both their eyes went wide. The surrounding walls had given way to glass, casting shimmering reflections of water onto the floor. A black-spotted fish appeared overhead, followed by another, and then another! Swordtails, Rummy-nose tetras, Yellowfin pompanos, and even Batfish—the kind they had only ever seen in documentaries—swam freely in the water. They moved with elegant grace, spreading their fins like wings and casting huge shadows on the ground as they sped past overhead!
Some traveled in schools, appearing in dense clusters that filled their entire field of vision.
Others were enormous, solitary fish that swam about aimlessly, radiating an unparalleled sense of pressure.
There were too many for Chen Yuan to name. He could only feel how magnificent and marvelous it all was, as if he had entered a mysterious world he had never encountered before.
“Wow, that’s a Humphead Wrasse!” Jiangg Ning spotted something and excitedly pulled Chen Yuan over, pointing at a particularly strange-looking fish inside the tank.
“What kind of fish is that? It looks kind of dopey.”
“It’s a Humphead Wrasse, also known as a Wavy-lipped Wrasse. They’re quite a prized species. If you look closely, you can see all the wavy patterns on its face, just like human fingerprints. This one must be an adult; its markings are very distinct.”
“No wonder it’s called a Wavy-lipped Wrasse.”
“Exactly! I’m going to take a picture. Do you want to stand over there? I can get a shot of you two together.”
“Me and this goofy thing?” Chen Yuan pointed at it. “Alright then. Make sure you get my good side.”
“Okay, okay! Just trust my photography skills.”
Jiangg Ning’s eyes curved into crescents as she smiled, and she voluntarily took a step back, raising her phone.
…
The two spent a joyful and happy morning together. For a couple in love, time spent clinging to each other flows by so quickly, slipping away in the blink of an eye.
「In the hotel.」
Jiangg Yao was still sound asleep. She had gotten up early in the morning, before the sun had even risen, as she had arranged to swap places with her sister.
After returning to the suite she had booked, she took another shower.
After all that, she lay in bed wanting to catch a bit more sleep, but she just tossed and turned for a long time.
By the time she finally fell asleep, two hours had already passed. She then slept straight through until noon.
Jiangg Yao slowly woke up, her hair a mess. Her beautiful body was wrapped in the warm blankets, and she stuck out just one hand, fumbling around until she unerringly found her phone under the pillow.
She cracked open one eye, keeping the other one closed. Pouting and frowning out of habit, she unlocked her screen to take a look.
It was almost eleven in the morning.
Jiangg Yao opened Green Bubble, as it showed she had many unread messages.
Tapping into it, she discovered they were all from her sister. She opened the chat and scrolled through the messages one by one. Many photos came into view.
In the photos, Chen Yuan was striking various poses, with the brilliant ocean scenery behind him as schools of fish swarmed past.
The shimmering, rippling light was beautiful.
Then there were photos of her sister and Chen Yuan together. They were holding hands, pressed close to each other, both puffing up their cheeks and winking as they made silly faces.
’My young master, so handsome…’ Jiangg Yao thought tenderly, her finger tracing over Chen Yuan’s face on the screen.
’How wonderful.’
She gazed at the photos, her eyes filled with infinite longing and tenderness.
It was as if she, too, was warmed by this pure and flawless love.
She wasn’t jealous, because Jiangg Yao knew that she and her sister shared the same feelings, the same love.
And they had chosen the same person!
