- Chapter 366 - 241: A Dangerous State of Love (2)

’Let her suffer.’
’Really make her suffer.’
She had never been able to stand her sister’s coy little wife act. To put it bluntly, in ancient times, wouldn’t that make her nothing more than a seductive concubine? Being flirty and frivolous in private could be excused as just being emotional, but it was ultimately unpresentable, unfit for any formal occasion!
’When choosing a wife, it’s best to find a girl from a good family—someone sensible and considerate. Now *that’s* a proper match.’
She had tried to correct Jiangg Yao’s behavior so many times, attempting to teach her sister to be more reserved and dignified. But not only did her sister not appreciate it, she even called her controlling—a complete busybody.
The woes of being an older sister.
That’s why seeing Jiangg Yao get snubbed right now felt so satisfying.
Not everyone liked the flirtatious type, especially a guy like Chen Yuan. The reason Jiangg Ning had always been so confident was her belief that Jiangg Yao’s little act would never work on him.
And now, her theory was being proven right—and right in front of her, no less.
’So, who’s the main girl now, huh?’
Jiangg Ning’s lips curled into a small smile. Thanks to the mysterious connection between twins, this was far more exhilarating than any normal fit of jealousy. The comparison was what made it so satisfying. ’Chen Yuan has never treated *me* like that,’ Ningning thought, her smile widening even more.
The corner of Jiangg Yao’s mouth twitched. She had seen her sister’s expression.
That exquisite face held a mix of mockery, derision, and contempt, and it made her skin crawl. She couldn’t help but clench her small fists. Normally, she couldn’t care less about embarrassing herself, but doing it in front of her sister felt exceptionally humiliating.
At the thought, her face flushed red.
The two sisters were lost in their own separate thoughts, and sparks flew as their eyes met. For a moment, the air in the narrow living room was thick with the smell of gunpowder.
It was a dark and stormy night, with bleak winds and a cold rain. This was the first night they were spending with Chen Yuan since the apology, and with the occasional clap of thunder outside, it was by all accounts the perfect opportunity to deepen their bond.
They’d naturally sit together, their bodies inevitably touching. Then, using the rumbling thunder as an excuse, one would feign fright and hide in his arms, lifting an adorably helpless face to look at him.
“I… I’m scared.”
“Don’t be afraid. I’m here.”
“Thank goodness you’re here, Chen. Your arms are so warm…”
“Do you like it? You smell so good, too…”
Intimate whispers, the rising heat between them, a natural kiss, and then cuddling sweetly together on the sofa.
What a moving scene it would be.
The exact same fantasy played out in both sisters’ minds. They each crossed their arms, a tell-tale blush rising to their cheeks.
’What a shame,’ Jiangg Yao thought. ’With my sister here, this perfect opportunity is going to waste.’
’What a shame,’ Jiangg Ning thought as well. ’That wretched little sister just had to tag along. With her in the way, there’s no chance for us to be alone tonight.’
They both sighed, and when they looked at each other again, their eyes narrowed in unison.
Chen Yuan suddenly sensed that, in addition to the smell of gunpowder, the living room was now filled with a murderous aura. He looked at the two sisters and belatedly scratched the back of his head.
“You two… why are you just standing there? You look like you’re about to have a duel,” Chen Yuan asked, confused.
“Of course not,” Jiangg Ning quickly denied.
“Not at all,” Jiangg Yao chirped, waving her hand dismissively.
“We’re sisters by blood. We have a wonderful relationship. Besides, I’ve always been very patient with Yaoyao. Even if she makes mistakes every day, I’ll always forgive her for everything. I suppose that’s just the magnanimity an older sister must possess.”
With a look of doting affection, Jiangg Ning walked over and patted her sister’s head, aggressively ruffling her hair into a messy tangle. The force she used was considerable, evident from the way Jiangg Yao’s head wobbled uncontrollably under the assault.
Although the goal was to put on a show of sisterly affection, Jiangg Yao’s smile was stiff. “That’s about enough…” she hissed through gritted teeth.
’Ningning’s about to rub all the static electricity out of my hair!’
“Since we can’t go home, I guess I’ll just have to behave and keep you company for a bit, Chen. This is a good chance for us to chat…” Jiangg Ning sat down on the sofa; her round, full hips, clad in jeans, settled to Chen Yuan’s right. She patted the spot beside her. “Yaoyao, come sit over here.”
Jiangg Yao’s expression instantly darkened. She stared at her sister with undisguised hostility for a moment before saying with a smile that didn’t reach her eyes, “Forget it. I think I’ll sit right… HERE!”
She trotted over to Chen Yuan’s left side and latched onto his arm.
As if declaring her sovereignty, she flashed her pearly whites and shot her sister a fierce glare.
“Hmph!”
Because of Yaoyao’s overly familiar action, a sweet fragrance instantly wafted to Chen Yuan’s nose. His arm was also pressed against two soft, unignorable mounds. He froze for a moment before awkwardly pulling his arm free. It wasn’t because Jiangg Ning was there; even without her, this was far too intimate for two people who weren’t in a relationship.
Intimacy without an official relationship was simply crossing a line.
…
…
Jiangg Ning snapped back to reality and glanced down at her own chest. A second later, her fists clenched tight.
’What is the meaning of this???’
’Is she mocking me for not being curvy enough?’
“Stop hugging me, Jiangg Yao. How many times have I told you…” Chen Yuan said, embarrassed.
“But I want to hug you! I’m going to! Now you just stay still!”
She was in a huff now, clamping onto Chen Yuan and refusing to let go. She shot her sister a triumphant, predatory glare, as if to assert her dominance.
Like a lioness whose territory had been invaded by an intruder.
“You’re a young woman! Have you no sense of propriety? Take a look at yourself! Is this appropriate? Let go!” Jiangg Ning scolded.
“Are you jealous?”
“You!”
“If you’re jealous, just say so, *Sister*,” she cooed. “This is a special massage therapy I invented to help my Young Master relieve his fatigue after a long day of studying. I couldn’t teach it to you even if I wanted to, though… Because you! Don’t! Have! The! Assets!”
