Chapter 67: Chapter 55: Jiangg Ning’s Realization
She wasn’t just an associate professor at the university, but also the deputy secretary of the Youth League Committee.
In terms of position, she and Chen Yuan were on completely different levels.
In terms of status, asking a teacher to give him a back massage?
Jiangg Ning secretly bit her lip. ’Chen Yuan, do you really have no idea what it means to respect your teachers!?’
She instantly switched to her usual strict-teacher persona and said coldly, “Stand up!”
Chen Yuan flinched, startled, and shot up reflexively.
“What’s wrong?”
“What kind of attitude is that!? Would any student dare treat their teacher like a servant? This is me you’re dealing with. If it were any other associate professor or leader from the faculty, you’d get a major demerit at the very least.”
“That’s not it. I wouldn’t act like this with other teachers,” Chen Yuan said, looking puzzled.
His words only made Jiangg Ning even angrier.
’He’s targeting me???’
’Fine, fine, fine! Chen Yuan, you really are holding a grudge against me.’
Jiangg Ning plopped back down at her desk. In her memory, Chen Yuan wasn’t this unpredictable. His awful attitude could only be explained as deliberate retaliation.
But even if he was her ex-boyfriend, he couldn’t just act so brazenly.
Otherwise, how could she continue to be a teacher?
Even if she owed him something, it couldn’t be brought into their roles at the university. Wasn’t this using a public position to settle a private grudge?
“If you have a problem, you can just say it. No need to bottle it up.” She crossed her legs, folded her arms, and put on a cold expression.
Seeing her like this just irritated Chen Yuan.
He had been in a bad mood from the moment he arrived. While walking down the hallway, he had asked someone for directions to the Youth League Committee office, and a few guys from the student council happened to walk by.
The group of three or four was gathered together, and their conversation was incredibly explicit.
It was all about Professor Jiangg Ning’s clothes—how professional she looked, but also how, aside from her authoritative air as a teacher, her stockings were especially sexy.
At that moment, Chen Yuan had clenched his fists, but his reason kept him in check.
He knew Jiangg Ning’s attire wasn’t against any rules—it was actually quite normal. But in the eyes of sex-starved male university students, it was a different story.
They could fantasize about a female mosquito, let alone a teacher like Jiangg who had a great figure and a pretty face.
Forget everything else, even if he were walking down the street with his girlfriend.
If she dressed up a little, he still couldn’t avoid the prying eyes of other guys.
Chen Yuan understood the logic, but it still made him uncomfortable.
That was why he wasn’t giving Jiangg Ning a pleasant look.
“You’re right, I am unhappy. You saw through me,” Chen Yuan dropped the act, frowning. “I really hate how you deliberately keep your distance at school. It’s so forced. Is it really necessary? Can’t we just be natural?”
He pointed at Jiangg Ning, his expression full of disbelief. “Who are you putting on this stern front for? There’s no one else in the office. You’re acting all fierce. It’s ugly.”
“I…” Jiangg Ning was at a loss for words. She wanted to say something, but nothing came out.
Because she really was being deliberate. What Chen Yuan said made sense.
“Go on, say something. Did I stop you from talking?”
“…”
Under his questioning, Jiangg Ning averted her gaze. After a long moment, she spoke, her cheeks flushing slightly. “Fine, we can be natural. I know what you mean. I’ll accept that point.”
“There’s more.”
“More?” Jiangg Ning was surprised.
“Come here,” Chen Yuan said coldly, beckoning to her. Jiangg Ning grumbled internally. ’Just how much resentment is he holding on to? He has to list it all out, point by point.’ She reluctantly got up from her office chair and leaned against the desk. To her surprise, Chen Yuan shot her a glare. “Closer.”
“Is there something you can’t say from this distance…? You really need me closer.” She took a few more steps forward.
CLICK-CLACK—
The sound of her high heels echoed.
Jiangg Ning stood before Chen Yuan. Her slightly curled, long hair was down, and on her delicate, fair face, her eyes darted away. She had to compose herself before she dared to lift her chin.
“If you have something to say, say it.”
“Heh.”
The next second! Chen Yuan shot out a hand and, before Jiangg Ning could react, seized the back of her neck and yanked her forward.
Jiangg Ning was completely stunned. She whispered urgently, “What are you doing?”
She struggled futilely a couple of times but couldn’t escape Chen Yuan’s demonic grip. He kept her by the neck as he walked her over to the side of the desk.
Chen Yuan sat straight down in the chair, forcing Jiangg Ning to crouch. Like a trembling chipmunk, her expression was a mixture of terror and shock. She had never imagined Chen Yuan would dare to treat her this way.
He sat down in her chair—it was a complete rebellion!
“Apologize,” Chen Yuan said, his face grim.
“What did I do that I have to apologize for?” Jiangg Ning was in an extremely awkward position, half-squatting, half-kneeling. Her head was just inches away, and the slightest movement would make it touch Chen Yuan’s thigh. She had to keep tilting her head up to speak, her face beet red and her mind a complete blank.
This sudden turn of events was beyond her comprehension.
Chen Yuan had never even treated Jiangg Yao this badly. It was clear he was genuinely furious.
“Look at what you’re wearing. Can’t you dress differently? Do you not own any pants? I can even buy some for you.”
“What I wear is none of your business! Chen Yuan, I’ll give you three seconds. Let me go! Otherwise, you’re definitely writing that self-criticism!”
“Fine. I’m prepared to write ten of them. I already told you about this last time in the lecture hall. You didn’t take it to heart at all, did you?”
The two of them remained at a stalemate.
In Jiangg Ning’s eyes, her emotions shifted from shock to incomprehension, and then to humiliation. She had never been so mortified.
「Three minutes later.」
She gave in.
“Let me stand up to talk…” Although Jiangg Ning’s expression was still cold, her tone was like that of a completely different person from before.
Chen Yuan released his hand.
Jiangg Ning shot to her feet, quickly straightening her clothes, her face flushed as she pointed at him.
She pointed at him… and then, she looked at Chen Yuan’s face. On the eighteen-year-old’s handsome face, his eyelashes fluttered, and his eyes overflowed with jealousy. The gentle line of his jaw was tilted upward as he met her gaze stubbornly, signaling that he would not make any concessions on this issue.
