Chapter 86: A Few Words on Going Premium

This newbie author’s first book is finally going premium.

I have a million things I want to say, but being long-winded would just sound pretentious.

So I’ll keep it brief:

1. I’ve planned out a complete emotional growth arc. To make the story richer, both Jiangg Yao’s and Jiangg Ning’s storylines need to be fully fleshed out, and even the minor plot points have to be told.

Rushing the plot blindly would ruin this book.

Sometimes, when I see you all urging me to hurry up, I get anxious too, but I have to force myself to suppress the impulse to rush ahead.

Fortunately, only a few people are rushing me; most of you are waiting patiently. So… I don’t want to take a great premise like the two sisters and write an ending that you only read once, enjoy the sweetness of, and then forget. A good romance novel is one you can read two, three, or even four times—one you can think back on during your busy life and still savor.

There are many slice-of-life authors on Qidian that I admire, and their books are truly worth rereading many times. That’s the goal I must strive for.

2. Regarding the two female characters’ personalities.

To be honest, for both Jiangg Ning and Jiangg Yao, I drew inspiration from real-life friends. They are not entirely fictional characters.

3. Regarding the book’s planned word count: I will do my best to exceed one million characters.

4. To the young sirs who are reading this book:

Regarding future updates, as a slow typer, I can’t make too many promises.

I’ll be in the 5,000 to 10,000 character-per-day range, and I’ll try my best to write long or extra-long Chapters to avoid being called out for being too short!

From now on, the update time will be set to 10:22 PM every night.

From tonight until tomorrow morning, I will be updating through the night. You can all read them when you wake up tomorrow. There will be three Chapters totaling 12,000 characters.
