Chapter 89: Chapter 89: Who Is the Real Black Tuo Follower?
With that, Du Jingming lunged forward, cyan flames erupting from his body and making the very air sizzle.
In an instant, the flames filled the entire corridor. Arcs of electricity wove through the sea of fire, gnawing at the cyan blaze like living creatures, only to be twisted into spiraling particles of light by the intense heat as sparks burst violently.
Su Chen didn’t say a word. He just turned and ran.
“Don’t follow me!” Su Chen hissed, seeing that Sun Tai was about to follow.
’Zhou Xian is only after me,’ Su Chen thought. ’Whether I can get away or not, it’s not good for Sun Tai to be with me.’
Sun Tai froze, his face etched with hesitation.
Without breaking stride, Su Chen flung out the Cyan Rope and wrapped it around Sun Tai.
“AH!” Sun Tai cried out as he was flung uncontrollably through the air, crashing into a nearby room.
By then, Su Chen had already covered a significant distance, darting through the mangled elevator doors. Below him lay a pitch-black elevator shaft, its walls crawling with crackling arcs of electricity.
Wrapped in a current of cyan wind, Su Chen executed an agile flip, planting his feet on the wall above. He bent his knees slightly, positioning himself headfirst down the shaft.
BOOM!
The muscles in his legs knotted like iron as wind currents gathered, compressing until they were almost solid.
The next moment, he pushed off with explosive force. A gale erupted, whipping his tattered clothes about as he shot downwards like an arrow loosed from a bowstring.
Aided by gravity and his own momentum, he plunged downward at a speed nearly invisible to the naked eye.
“You can’t escape!”
Zhou Xian roared again and again. With ruthless resolve, his body dissolved once more to evade Du Jingming’s oncoming attack.
’He can still use Elementalization?’ Du Jingming was shocked.
Elementalization was a special technique. Even for a Tier Three Professional, it was incredibly difficult to master.
At such a low Tier, it was easy to be influenced by the natural environment, leading to complete elementalization—a process tantamount to suicide.
That Zhou Xian could use it once was already surprising. A second time was nothing short of a life-or-death gamble!
’You caught me off guard the first time. Think you can pull the same trick again?’ Although surprised, Du Jingming’s actions were swift. He didn’t chase after Zhou Xian.
Instead, he charged toward the ceiling and plunged his two iron arms deep inside.
The surrounding lights flickered as he forcibly ripped out several thick electrical cables. Sparks erupted from the exposed copper wires.
With a great heave, he slammed the exposed ends of the wires into the floor.
Instantly, violent sparks flew, and the electrical arcs that filled the area began to writhe and dance erratically.
This was a critical weakness of Elementalization. On a stormy night with roaring thunder, not even a Tier Five Professional would dare to use Elementalization, let alone a Tier Three Professional like Zhou Xian.
BOOM!
A swirling air current enveloped Su Chen as strands of the Cyan Rope shot out in all directions, embedding themselves deep in the walls to slow his descent.
In just a few breaths, the ground was nearly upon him!
CRACKLE! POP!
At the same time, the electrical arcs clinging to the walls of the elevator shaft flared to life.
A chill ran down Su Chen’s spine. He glanced back and saw a mass of electrical arcs coalescing—it was Zhou Xian.
“Damn it, what a pain,” Su Chen gritted his teeth.
CRASH!
Su Chen slammed into the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust. He leaped back to his feet in an instant, only to find himself surrounded by a web of electrical arcs.
Up above, Sun Tai came hopping out of the room. The moment his feet touched the ground, the current spreading across the floor surged up his legs, making his fleshy body twitch uncontrollably.
“Du… Du Jingming… hurry…”
“Hurry… go… save… save him!”
He urged again and again, his portly body already rushing toward the elevator shaft.
He didn’t need to be told. Du Jingming was already on the move, dragging the live wires with him in a trail of sparks and lightning.
“You’ve hidden yourself too well…” Zhou Xian’s voice echoed from all around, seeming vast and diffuse.
“You are the Delicious Soul my lord spoke of, and to think you were right under my nose.”
Su Chen’s expression darkened. ’So, they found out after all.’
His mind raced. Glancing up, he made a decision.
“Incredible. Truly incredible.” Zhou Xian’s form began to coalesce within a swirl of dust and lightning, obscuring him from view.
“A pity. In the end, you won’t escape my grasp. Once I offer you as a sacrifice, my lord will be very pleased.”
Zhou Xian’s silhouette had just solidified when his right thigh suddenly dissolved. Blood sprayed out as he let out a howl of agony. “Damn it! Du Jingming! I’ll slaughter your entire family!”
The ambient electrical current had interfered, causing a flaw to appear as his Elementalization process reversed.
But this was no time to dwell on that. He fixed his gaze on Su Chen as the surrounding thunderlight flared.
But just then, something made his heart jump. His expression changed drastically, and his pupils constricted.
BZZT… BZZT…
Su Chen’s eyes had turned a fluorescent blue. His hair floated up, now also the same radiant blue, with arcs of electricity coiling between the strands. His entire life aura surged, multiplying several times over!
Wind and Thunder Envoy!
Having entered the Wind and Thunder Envoy state, Su Chen’s perception of Elemental Power sharpened severalfold. He could clearly sense the bizarre transformation from Elemental Power back to flesh within Zhou Xian’s not-yet-solidified body.
He drew the Cyan Rope. Searing electrical arcs surged through it, condensing into an incandescent white. High above in the stairwell, a crimson thunderlight began to flash.
His Telekinesis surged, causing the surrounding dust to float into the air as he made a tentative attempt to interfere with Zhou Xian’s body.
“Die!” Su Chen roared, unleashing his most powerful strike to date!
CRACKLE! POP!
“How is this possible? You… How could…”
A storm of thunderlight erupted. Zhou Xian’s face was a mask of terror; the power of this strike was enough to make even him feel threatened.
Before his body could fully reform from its elemental state, the Cyan Rope lashed into him. Foreign variants of the Thunder Element, none of them his own, churned madly within his body.
His right arm, left leg, and abdomen simultaneously erupted in a gory flash. Blood sprayed everywhere as Zhou Xian let out a bloodcurdling howl.
