My Servant System - Chapter 1439 - 1438: Quick Preparations (3)

Chapter 1439: Chapter 1438: Quick Preparations (3)
Adelina was definitely far more friendly than she had been before – genuine friendliness over the forced version that was required because of Leone’s status as a Princess – while Nirinia didn’t seem to have changed at all, though the change that had happened was definitely one we weren’t going to see anyways.
I imagine the Djinn-Orc’s demands for physical intimacy were now being met if they had become engaged since the last time we had seen them, something that was non negotiable for Nirinia since she seemed to be treading the same path that we were.
In other words she was a degenerate who required that physical closeness a majority of the time, and honestly I couldn’t blame her considering the type of life that she was living; the constant danger and immense pressure placed on her shoulders was one that required some kind of outlet, and the most common just so happened to be the world’s oldest vice.
All in all I was very much looking forwards to talking to them again, but for the time being my attention was solely focused on the plethora of materials that had been prepared for us going forwards, the urge I had to take stock of things and begin planning our next move growing stronger the closer I got to the materials.
There were four large piles of freshly hewn logs stacked up to just above my head, numbering almost thirty logs to a pile; each log was easily over ten feet long and about a foot or so thick, with nice bark and coloring that would fit in almost everywhere.
Then the pallets of stone blocks that were just as tall waited for our appraisal, the smooth grey surfaces showing off the immense care that had gone into carving them into their current shape; there were four of those as well, and already I was trying to put a price tag to these even though I knew nothing about building materials.
Those weren’t all though since there were almost a dozen crates filled with all sorts of things, ranging from smaller boxes of nails, metal fittings, locks and more to perfectly tanned leather and fluffy, gorgeous furs meant for furniture.
There were so many well made and very needed materials waiting for us here, amongst which there seemed to be personalized offerings to ensure we didn’t lack anything to do relating to our hobbies since there were a plethora of ingots, herbs and Mana Crystals inside of one of the crates.
Walking over and joining Anput and I, the Empress clasped her hands behind her back and murmured “That was all of my wives’ idea. Everything here is from my personal stores… so I hope it gets utilized well. Besides, I couldn’t just let you construct some shoddy dwelling now could I?”, drawing our attention away from the materials and over to her.
The immediate thanks we gave was waved off as she just added “This is an investment into the future, and besides that this is merely my obligation to Leone. She deserves the best even when I want her to do something else… and yet I cannot fault her for desiring her own space. It is what I wanted at her age too.”
Giving us a nod and turning back towards the others, the Empress left us there and gave us time to chat ourselves since there was much to discuss, namely what the future was going to hold for not only us four but also for the family we were going to be far away from.
It wasn’t anything new for Anput but it was going to be new for the rest of us, though knowing we were barely a day out from the Capital and only needed to add another two or three hours for the March made that an easy pill to swallow.
“Ah, I suppose we should catch you up to speed on something nifty that we got during our time in the Labyrinthian~! Check this out~!”
Using the bracelet that Mom had given to her, Jahi approached one of the log piles and grinned back at the two returning ’chaperones’ of ours, showing off the ability of the bracelet with a smugness that wasn’t really that warranted here…
When the pile just vanished they both froze, uncertain of what happened and soon turning towards the Empress to try and get some sort of understanding, only for the Empress to gesture back at the smug Demoness, prompting her to explain it to them.
While Jahi showed off to them both I approached Mom and asked about the bracelet, immediately making her frown and sigh as she answered “It makes more sense to be handed off to her than it does for me to use it… primarily because of this, but also because of… other reasons…”
At that she peeked over at Mother Ria, who had taken Alessandra back from Leone and was standing just a few feet away… meaning she heard that and immediately smiled at us both as she added “Chordeva doesn’t need something like that when all she would use it for would be food, wine and other unimportant things. It would be wasted on her.”
“Wasted?! Those are extremely-!”
They began to ’argue’ because of my own question, and although I was feeling a tad guilty about that I just continued my rounds and chatted with whomever I could about whatever felt right, letting the time slip away slowly but surely as we began to go over what else we would need before we left.
The things that we could buy in bulk here and save a large amount of hassle in the near future, spending the money we had earned as well as a small bonus gift that the Empress was giving us that was just a nice little chunk of change to get what we wanted before we left.
All in all things went nicely, and the departure tomorrow was going to be smoother than I had initially anticipated… which tended to mean something was about to make things difficult in the near future…
