Descending down the stairs and rejoining the other two, I was immediately swept aside as Jahi dragged me into her arms and gave me a deep, passionate kiss, making sure I knew just how much she loved what she saw and then some as she dropped a hand down like she always did.

“Fuck you look so damn good, Kat… I almost want to just say we should skip the celebration and just get back upstairs, but I know you don’t want that…”

She seemed so disappointed that we couldn’t, yet at the same time the pride swelling inside of her as she looked me over again made me smirk at her as I hooked my arm with hers, leaning against it and murmuring “We have more than enough time later tonight, Jahi. We only have this one chance to welcome our first batch of citizens to our city…”

“I know, I know… I just… It should be illegal for someone to look this good…”

That made me chuckle and roll my eyes as I waved away her constant praises, and when I turned to look towards our pale skinned, crimson eyed Princess I immediately noticed the dusting of pink on her cheeks as she wordlessly stared at me.

Blinking a few times when she realized I was staring back at her, Leone blushed even more and turned to look towards Anput instead, though all that did was earn her a passionate kiss from the Jackalkin as she took advantage of her momentary stupor.

“I cannot wait to have tailors and seamstresses visit… We need to allocate a large~ amount of money to that part of our budget, because I really, desperately want to see these two in all kinds of clothing…”

The Demoness just hummed in agreement as she looked down at both Leone and I, only to then lean down to murmur “Do you want to tease Leone or shall I~?”, clearly deciding that now she was going to follow my desires of us favoring one another a little less to leave the other two ’behind’.

Glancing back at the handsy Jackalkin feeling up the blushing and busty Vampire, I pursed my lips before murmuring back “Appearances will matter tonight, so take Leone. It’s more ’striking’ if you have a Princess of the Empire on your arm… plus, I think she’s going to be quite~ fun tonight~!”

Giving me a nod and one ’final’ kiss, Jahi swept Leone away from the horny Jackalkin, ’saving’ her for the time being and walking her out the door, causing my mate to let out an exaggerated sigh before she spun on her heel and grinned at me.

“Well, it seems we’re going to be starting this off together~! How fun~! Are you ready, my love~?”

Offering me her arm and only playing around a little bit, Anput straightened herself out as soon as we approached the door and made sure to put on that suave, refined mask of a Begum rather than her usual goofy and lovable self.

“You are quite handsome when you’re like this, y’know?”

My mate just chuckled quietly as she walked me down towards the towering bonfire, not missing a beat even as she murmured back “And you will likely get tired of hearing about how sexy I find you to be when you dress like this… because Gods be damned you’re gorgeous, Kat. It always feels… fictional, having a woman like you on my arm.”

We made our way down towards the crowd with measured, refined strides, standing just beside and behind Jahi and Leone as they looked around at the farmers, merchants and Demons with small smiles and relaxed eagerness.

“Tonight we celebrate the first night together, as a city. All of us are working together now, not only for the Empire, not only for the Demon Clans, but for one another. Right now we have nothing but potential, but potential doesn’t fill bellies, doesn’t warm homes. That is why you are here, it is why we are here.

As a collective we can turn this place from an empty field into a bustling, warm and happy city, one that welcomes all and one that benefits everyone. A place to not only work and grow, but a place to live and call home. We aren’t all the same, we aren’t all capable of everything individually, but together we can create something amazing.

Somewhere that can accept anyone willing to enjoy the peace, somewhere where we can drink, feast, party and even just live together. A place where we can create a better future, where we can build something meaningful, be it for everyone or even just for yourself.

Arx Amator will be a place of new beginnings for those that are yearning for something fresh; it will be a place of love for yourself, for one another, and for life in all of its glories. So tonight we drink and celebrate the beginning of something wonderful, to celebrate one another, and to celebrate everything that has led to this moment.”

The gathered crowd of farmers let out a loud roar of approval as they all gathered around the smiling Demoness and Vampire, pumping their fists in the air and chanting ’Arx Amator!’ or ’New beginnings!’ over and over again.

Their energy was infectious, with most of the merchants grinning as well despite the clear dislike of the noise, while the Demons all nodded to themselves from the fringes of the group; even Satanya seemed captivated as well, though I don’t know if it was because of the speech of because of Jahi…

Either way I didn’t have the capabilities to ponder it for terribly long since after a few hearty cheers the farmers all began to dance and head over towards the prepared alcohol, meaning we had to join them…

Not like it was something we were forced to do since both Anput and I were quite eager for the drinks to start flowing, but it was amusing that after just a single minute of talking they were all ready to just get to dancing and drinking instead.

The meat was cooking as some of the farmers took care of that alongside a few of the Demons, while the prepared area around the bonfire was perfect for dancing, so without missing a beat Anput pulled me over and stared dancing with me, guiding me around as we stared somewhat formal only to inevitably end up moving with the sway of the music that the Demons also provided.

It wasn’t our first night here, but it was the start of something wonderful, and like Jahi said it was time to celebrate the beginning of a new Chapter in our lives, one where we turned this patch of nothing into a bustling, glorious city inside of our wonderful Empire.
