My Servant System - Chapter 1516 - 1515: Personal Project

Chapter 1516: Chapter 1515: Personal Project
“Alright, so you wanted to do what now?”
Nirinia looked at me like I was a little crazy as I pushed the rudimentary sketch over towards her, letting her look as I explained myself for the second time; I was a little irritated that she seemed confused, though at the same time I was telling myself it was an understandable reaction…
“I want to construct a ’lounge’ for people to unwind. Somewhere to serve drinks, small appetizers, host singers and dancers and otherwise just gather to enjoy themselves. Not terribly big, rather cozy and capable of being a place to relax, but also a place that offers privacy.”
“So… you want to set up a… cabaret? One that doubles as a brothel?”
“A cabaret, yes.”
Ignoring the second part for now, I just stared at the Djinn before sighing since she wasn’t allowing me to do so, her pointed stare making that abundantly clear before she looked back down at the sketch.
“It would also act as a brothel to a degree, yes. Small private rooms meant for people to unwind via sex. A workforce of around… perhaps a range of eight to twelve at a time. Two or three for the bar, four or so for the entertainment – dancing and singing primarily – and a few more acting as waiters and waitresses.”
“Uh huh… A cabaret… funded by the ruler of the city… operated by her own wife… who she is crazily possessive of… Are you seeing what is causing my confusion?”
“Nirinia, if you must know Jahi already okayed this. We talked about it, and she understands it. I’m not getting my ’hands dirty’, and I’m not suddenly looking to cause problems with my amazing wives. If you recall, I happen to have a pink ’problem’ that floats around me at all times.”
“Hello~! I’m the problem~!”
Cali popped into existence for just a moment as she giggled and waved at Nirinia before popping back out again, leaving behind a small haze of sweet pink ’definitely not drugs’ air, which we were forced to breathe.
“Ah… yeah. Still, that doesn’t just mean the first parts aren’t valid. You do understand how the Nobility works, right? How this is something that will immediately get used against you, and more importantly against Jahi?”
“I am very much aware that people will try and undermine us for one reason or another, as I am also aware that it will be used to try and create problems in many different ways. However, I do not give a damn about other people because at the end of the day, the families I have married into simply carry a much bigger, more important weight then legitimately anyone else on this side of the continent.”
The Djinn nodded and muttered “Fair.” before looking back down at the sketch, which had an exterior that I wanted to try to stick to as well as an interior that I thought would work, though I had long since learned that judging space without actually being able to walk around it was a losing battle for me.
“Alright, I know you said small but this is puny. The dimensions will need a lot of adjustments, but that’s simple enough for us to do since space isn’t really an issue we have just yet. We’re making this somewhere nearby the square, right? Either on it or right off of it?”
“Hopefully. On top of that I wanted it to be quite obvious with what it is; a place to gather and relax, but also a place that not just anyone can get into. Some money is going to be needed to enjoy its offerings, so the materials are going to be quite nice. We have a fair amount of leftover wood, Leone has the ability to stain it whichever color I desire, and I am going to enchant every single inch of it if I need to.”
“Rich but not gaudy… Since this is meant to be a somewhat exclusive place keeping it off of the main areas would be better. Give it a little bit of ’mystique’ while also keeping a fair bit of unwanted foot traffic away.
There’s a fair amount of alleyways being planned out already between the Merchants Hall and City Hall, so that could work? Plus it can be nestled against the walls of your compound if you want to give it a little protection. Deep inside of the city – at least for where we have planned – and also not far for you to travel to.”
“That’s good for me. I also have a few things I’ll be trying out with it, like magically locked doors that react to special ’keys’ or the like to help keep it secretive and selective. I was going to work with Leone on that, mixing Alchemy and Enchanting.”
“You can keep that to yourself ’cause I won’t understand a single damn word of it. What I can understand is how to nail a board to another board, so I’ll stick to that.”
Giving the Djinn a small smile, I just shrugged and continued to explain everything to her, going over my reasoning for the design choices and trying to expand on everything so that we could come to a better understanding of what might need to get done.
There was a whole lot to talk about, and it took us well over half an hour to get through it all and come up with a plan, which ended up being something we just shelved since the moment we started walking over towards the area she had described, another monster horde found its way over towards us.
That in and of itself was beginning to present a problem, and while the waves fluctuated in difficulty the fact that they were happening so ’often’ was cause for concern, though as of current we all just treated it like a dinner bell.
A wave of good meat and expensive pelts coming our way?
Yeah, that was just a good thing, but the whole ’logic’ behind it was something we were going to need to study and understand before it became too late, because these hordes were beginning to fell rather deliberate and guided.
What are the chances that they constantly keep coming to the same place over and over again, and what are the chances that they send monsters that are of similar types each time, just a minuscule amount stronger each time?
We couldn’t just let it continue on forever, but for the immediate future this was actually a good thing since it presented an influx of coin for the economy, more food for everyone to start getting a better diet as well as a bunch of materials for us to make use of, ranging from more tools to clothing even to fertilizer and other one use goods.
