My Servant System - Chapter 1544 1543: Another Celebration (1)

By the time I managed to get out of the manor and down into the square most of the citizens were already in the middle of celebrating, with the food and wine flowing quite freely as everyone enjoyed themselves whilst Mom watched from the hastily constructed throne that they were adamant she deserved.
As always Mom was just draped in her clean white robes accented with a few hints of gold, maintaining her rather modest attire that allowed her outstanding physique to do all of the impressing.
The only thing that wasn’t modest about her outfit was the smoldering crown of Fire Mana Crystal atop her heat, though even then all it did was emphasize her constantly shifting hair that went from flickering embers to a roaring inferno, though nowadays she tended to be quite… calm.
Similar ashen gray hair yet far more ‘active’ thanks to her power, Mom really had a few extremely dominant features that trickled down to all of us even if her race was something that was locked away, incapable of being born into this world.
Beside her was Mother, who was wearing her usual feathered finery that had been perfected for her by Mister Vanyiik, someone that was very talented in fashion even if he himself was a little insufferable.
The same grey as Mom’s hair with a handful of vibrant crimson and gorgeous orange feathers carefully layered about, the dress was a rather unique piece that always stole everyone’s attention no matter what, and here it was no different.
Her being atop the hand crafted dais that the citizens had thrown together for all of our ‘honored’ guests certainly didn’t help either, though after so long being wed to Mom she didn’t mind the attention whatsoever.
Stepping up to them both, I hugged Mom before Mother stood and approached me, her slight smile and warm, happy gaze making me smile in turn as I embraced her next, enjoying the all too familiar ‘cool’ embrace from the older Vampire.
“I did hear that Vanyiik had made the trip here a few times, but I didn’t expect you to continue wearing his dresses. I still remember when you were younger you used to complain about all of the feathers, worrying about the difficulty of having it cleaned~! Always thinking of others but not yourself…”
The memory made me chuckle wryly as I just shrugged, causing my Mother to give me another hug before gesturing for me to sit with them as we awaited the arrival of the others, who – as far as I knew – were still ‘getting ready’.
“Amongst those choices you provided me back then this always seemed to be the most… acceptable. Plus it was your favorite as well, so there was that.”
Like Mother I had a similar feathered dress clinging to my body, though where the one she had was styled after Mom mine was far more colorful since I opted for a deep, rich crimson that complimented my eyes.
“Mm… The others weren’t bad though, but I suppose seeing me in these often must have tickled something in your pretty little head. Speaking of, how does it feel..?”
My smile widened whilst my cheeks began to redden just a bit as I answered “It feels… surreal. Like I might wake up sometime soon to something else. I never thought… I mean, after Jahi accepted me as her wife, I just… always believed my children would only ever be from her, but now…”
“That is what tends to happen in these sorts of relationships, Leone. I imagine that if more of your Aunts were futanari there might just be a few more branches to our family, though…”
Mom turned her head slightly towards Mother, who just shrugged and said “Maybe, but most likely not. We’re all quite… strong minded and we know what we want. That’s why we are where we are. The only one who might end up producing that branch is Arc, but even then I don’t know if Fen gives her a chance to keep that branch…”
The mood soured a little at the thought of what might have been if both of the people mentioned weren’t as… ‘crazy’ as they were, though since they weren’t here and we weren’t really talking about them anyway we were quick to move on, if only because now was meant to be a happy time.
Clapping her hands together, Mother gave me a smile and said “Anyways, about this wonderful new chapter of yours~! Are you excited? It is quite the change to what you were used to, isn’t it? Managing a newly founded city and now having to plan around a few new additions?”
I chuckled again and nodded as I replied “I am, but it isn’t really… unfamiliar. I was learning about most of these things all throughout my childhood, remember? Whilst our titles as Princes and Princesses might have been a bit ornamental thanks to Mom being… well, Mom, we still all learned about managing cities and people.
I will admit that the things we learned about never involved how to raise a child, but that is why we have people here to help run the city with us. And the benefits of there being four of us in total… so long as we all remain healthy and manage ourselves well, someone should always be available for the people no matter what.”
Both of my parents nodded, though that was when Anput and her parents arrived, the trio of Caninekin attracting a large swathe of the celebrants as they inched closer and closer to see the two foreign leaders up close.
The Sultana was as sharp as ever whilst Lady Kio was more focused on teasing Anput then she was on being ‘presentable’, though I suppose that endeared her a little to the crowd as they got to watch the younger Jackalkin get poked by her Mother as they talked closely about the baby in her belly.
