My Servant System - Chapter 1559 1558: Keeping Busy

“You really should look into it, it might end up being quite the intriguing endeavor for someone like yourself, Lady Katherine!”
Bowing deeply, the ornately robed woman nodded to the book in my hands before turning on her heel and stepping out of the lounge, leaving me with this ‘intriguing’ endeavor and a bunch of questions…
Namely what had just happened, and why I was now the proud owner of another book… two things that I could sort of answer yet felt far too mentally drained to do so, which meant it was time to plop down onto the clean couch and figure out what to do next.
It was well before operating hours here, so there was no risk of someone coming in unless they were eager to get here early, and it was a rare moment of quiet for me… so obviously instead of just savoring it I opened the damn book and immediately realized why it was an intriguing endeavor.
The damn thing was chock full of various sex positions, bondage techniques and even which kind of wax worked best for whichever purpose you desired; more niche kinks filled the pages too, and all of it just culminated into something that was… oddly arousing.
It being ‘odd’ entirely because I had no idea why that woman had wanted to hand me a book of kinky stuff for seemingly free, though considering she had a token I imagine this might be something of an ‘investment’ on her part.
Why she carried something like this around with her was a mystery, but life was meant to be full of mysteries anyways so I just… decided to give a few passages a read, attempting to ignore the personal notes and instead focusing on why this might be something I should consider implementing.
I got so engrossed into it that I didn’t even notice Leone coming in, though the moment I heard a surprised gasp beside me I jolted back to ‘consciousness’ and turned towards her, not knowing if I should close the book or not.
“W-Why are you reading about..! Wh-What made you want to read about using candles on someone..! It’s the middle of the day!”
Blinking a few times, I stared at Leone before looking down at the book and then back at her, wondering how I should explain this only to decide that attempting to do so to the very red Vampire was probably not going to end well.
“Future use?”
Instead I just said that, and immediately Leone blushed even more as she started alternating her gaze between the book and me, the uncertain curiosity causing me to raise a brow since it seemed she was a little intrigued by the idea of using wax.
Gently lowering the book onto my lap, I turned towards my wife properly and asked “What brought you here anyways, love?”, causing her to become more flustered before she bit her lip and shuffled around, clearly still a bit stunned by my choice of reading.
“I… Well, there… Maybe… We could…”
“Breathe, love.”
She gave me a half glare because of that, but I just smirked in reply and watched the Vampire slowly take breaths as she calmed herself down, though the moment her eyes landed on the book again she just blushed.
“I had… a few ‘questions’ about Anput, and her… um… y’know..?”
~~~
Anput PoV
“Seriously? I ask if you made anything for your one and only Mother and you present this dinky thing to me?”
I tried – and immediately failed – to hold in a laugh as Mother gave me a deadpan look while holding up a very small, slender single edged dagger that was meant to cut through wax and nothing else, which just made the Dogkin point the ‘weapon’ at me.
“I’m glad you think this is funny, Anput. Just because this thing is pathetic doesn’t mean I can’t jab it into your damn eye, you hear me?”
Holding my sides, I just laughed even as she ‘jabbed’ the blade at me, though considering how small it was it was more like she was punching me, causing her to snarl in irritation since she noticed that too.
Giggling to myself and walking over to my workbench, I tugged the cloth off of the actual present I made for her and watched as she did an immediate flip with her attitude, that snarl fading as she stared at what I had created for her.
“Is this better~? Gaea Geode core with a Dawn Steel jacket, single edged and weighted towards the tip, just how you like your blades. Perfect for Earth or Fire enchantments, made for cutting and slashing, light enough to be a quick weapon yet heavy enough to contend with armor… I think this is what you wanted, no?”
Not only was it fully functional – obviously it needed to actually cut, because otherwise why would I bother forging a blade – but it was also extremely ornate, since I knew Mother had her small suite of blades she already preferred for fighting.
Blades that she had apparently used for decades at this point, so there was no need for me to try and replace something that familiar to her; instead I could make her a decorative yet functional blade to use for ceremony and such, which I knew she had a lack of.
With a pale golden blade and an engraved hilt that had a large pearl being clutched by golden talons, it was a gorgeous piece that was befitting of a Sultana’s wife, and it was also made by yours truly~!
“It definitely is…”
Gently stroking the flat of the blade and staring at it with a smirk, Mother nodded a few times before narrowing her eyes and turning to me as she said “You didn’t make this recently, did you? After you found out you were with child?”
“Can you simply have a moment and appreciate my work instead of immediately searching for something to be ‘angry’ about? Of course I made this beforehand. You think I’m stupid?”
When she raised a brow and kept quiet I clicked my tongue, rolled my eyes and muttered “This is why Mother Julie is-“, which had the Dogkin explode as she spun around towards me, very much not liking the title I called Mother Julie by.
Feigning innocence and simply goading her into a more explosive state by revealing the full set of display weapons I had made for my in laws was a highlight of my day, and even when Mom came in to see what the fuss was about I just continued to have fun.
It… reminded me a lot of being back home in the Sultanate, where I would constantly push my Mother further and further to see how ‘bad’ she could get before promptly running away and letting Mom deal with it.
That was part of the reason I had so many siblings already, and it also was part of the reason they had been so ‘eager’ to marry me off to Jahi, though at the end of the day it was also just something that reminded Mom and I about why we loved Mother so much.
I mean… who else was going to make all~ this noise and threaten to kill us besides her~?
