Chapter 675: Six hundred and seventy-four, red spider lily
Time passed indeterminably until Song Yan Ning and Qin Yushen finally felt solid ground under their feet, but darkness still surrounded them.
Song Yan Ning and Qin Yushen scanned their surroundings with their Divine Sense and saw that they had landed in a vast, empty square. Not far in front of them stood a pitch-black gate, with a sign resembling rusty blood overhead that bore three eerie characters, “The Peaceful Realms.”
Enormous trees towered around the gate, their branches home to flocks of crows. When a cold, sinister wind blew, it carried an intimidating ghostly aura.
Song Yan Ning and Qin Yushen ascended the dark steps, passing through the black gate. As they did, their surroundings brightened, and a different world appeared before their eyes.
In front of them was a sea of red flowers. Blossoms of red spider lily bloomed vividly and enticingly.
As they observed the red spider lily sea, the sound of combat suddenly reached them. Looking quickly in its direction, they saw two figures radiating an aura of death, fighting their way towards them.
The two figures swiftly passed by Song Yan Ning and Qin Yushen, but soon returned and stopped beside them, examining the two with surprise.
“Are you not from The Peaceful Realms?” one of the men with green hair and beard asked in astonishment.
“How can you tell?” Qin Yushen inquired.
“You don’t carry the Death Energy. Cultivators who practice here in The Peaceful Realms all emit Death Energy, just like us,” said the man with a horse-like face.
Song Yan Ning’s Divine Sense swept over the two men thoroughly. She lifted her hand and took out a Judge’s Pen, sketching in the air. Before long, two talismans took shape in mid-air and fell into her hands.
“What kind of pen is that?” The green-haired man eyed the Judge’s Pen in Song Yan Ning’s hand with palpable greed. He sensed the dense Death Energy on the pen and knew that possessing it would surely raise his power to a new level.
Song Yan Ning ignored the green-haired man and handed Qin Yushen one of the talismans, “This is a Qi Talisman.” It was crafted to imitate the aura of the two men before them, allowing both her and Yushen’s presence to change and match those from this place once the talisman was activated.
Qin Yushen activated the talisman, and his Spiritual Energy shifted rapidly. In but a moment, his aura became identical to that of the two men before them.
A mixture of shock and delight passed through the eyes of the two men. They exchanged glances and simultaneously lunged at Song Yan Ning, determined to seize the pen she possessed.
However, before they could reach Song Yan Ning, they were turned into two clouds of blood mist by the Divine Sense Giant Hand that Qin Yushen released.
Qin Yushen picked up two dark Jade Tokens that fell from the blood mist, which bore the words “The Peaceful Realms” on one side and two names on the other.
“These must be The Peaceful Realms’ Identity Jades,” Song Yan Ning affirmed.
Qin Yushen nodded and handed one of the tokens to Song Yan Ning. He then took out a disguise mask and transformed his appearance to match that of one of the cultivators he had just turned into blood mist.
Song Yan Ning put away the Jade Token and also donned a mask. The masks crafted by Qin Yushen could alter not just their faces but their figures as well. Combined with the Death Energy they wore, it was unlikely that anyone would recognize that they were not natives of The Peaceful Realms.
Exchanging a smile, Song Yan Ning and Qin Yushen leapt up, soaring over the red spider lilies and away.
