My Werewolf System - Chapter 1253 - 1253: That's An Order

It was early morning in Ruin City, and due to the time most people had already gone to sleep. In the first place, Ruin City was different compared to other cities. Due to the type of people it attracted, it wasn’t one of those cities that were twenty-four hours so most of the public were asleep and had no idea what was going on.
If someone were to try and look at the city rooftops, they would see three particular individuals running across, and not far behind them several creatures that were chasing them down.
“These guys, they don’t give up!” Donald shouted as he leapt in the air, but could see that one of the Werewolves that were chasing them had jumped from the side of the building.
He went to twist his body to attack in some way with one of his weapons, when he saw Edvard flying through the air with his fist out. It landed squarely in the Werewolf’s face and knocked it out of the sky.
Quickly, the three Altered hunters landed on one of the building rooftops and skidded across. Both Ozacas and Edvard turned around.
Ozacas moved into the perfect position as he lifted his sword up stabbing one of the Werewolves in the stomach. He used all of his strength to defeat it in one go, and finally he flopped the body over to the side, and he could see that Edvard had already dealt with the others that were following.
Part of the outer area of the rooftop’s concrete was broken off, so he imagined one of the Werewolves had to have been kicked off. What was amazing was how quick Edvard was working.
“Am I imagining things or as we get tired you seem to be getting stronger?” Donald said as he was seriously out of breath and didn’t even help in the small scuffle that had just occurred right now.
“I just have better equipment than you.” Edvard replied. “I have to leave the best to myself.”
It was a joke, and a lie. With the situation getting worse, it wasn’t as if Edvard could fully hold back with the other Altered hunters present. To get out of the situation he had to use some of his real power.
“The trip back to the Gardens at the start of the city is taking longer than I thought.” Donald said. “Somehow, they keep finding us, and we can’t use any transport to get back to the start. Surely the backup would have already arrived by now?”
“That’s what I’m worried about as well.” Edvard reported. “If Cooper is all well, he will set up the communication link. Then we can contact each other from far, and we don’t have to be in range with the masks.
“Originally the plan was to clear all three of the Gardens then move together, to head straight to the castle. That’s what I wanted to do, but with the Ironfangs being there I’m not even sure backup is going to be okay.”
Edvard pulled out a hardened black case phone. It was a device that the Altered hunters used. When in a city, especially one controlled by a King, the Altered hunters had to be careful.
Phones had GPS tracking in them, and the Kings had great power. They could force the police force, force the mobile networks to track down who they wanted. So they used special devices that could connect on their own network that connected to a satellite.
However, it was a device that needed to be set up, and the individual that would set up and be in charge of communications was Cooper. If they were in the middle of a fight, it wouldn’t be so easy.
Also, it was best for them to clear the area before setting it up, because if the device was destroyed, then it also meant their communication would be offline.
What Edvard needed most was the information on where his armour was. Where it was going to be delivered.
‘The Werewolves are probably tracking me down because of my smell, and I can’t move too fast with these two…’
In the middle of his thoughts, that was when a message played out.
“Urgent Alert at Regent Garden, Lupus is outside. Do not approach the Garden, Lupus is here.”
The message was simple and made Edvard sick to his stomach. “Regent Garden, that’s the furthest one.” Edvard commented.
“That message, it came from Cooper as well, which means he must have met Lupus?” Donald asked. “But if he did, how is Cooper still alive.”
“Cooper has a good head on his shoulders.” Edvard said. “He’s survived a long time for a reason. He must have hacked into the local cameras and seen something, but the fact that he erected the communication tower, it must also mean he’s seen the backup Altered hunters.
“It’s a warning to them.”
Edvard was gritting his teeth. There was no telling if his armour was at the Garden or the other Gardens, but if he left things be, then Lupus, he would be able to kill every single person there.
In the end, Edvard made a decision. “Donald, Ozacas, both of you, search for your son. Right now we’re still close to where your son was last seen. If the Ironfangs moved you might be able to find them. You can’t be on the field worried about it.
“I’ll head to Regent Garden, and help out Cooper and the others. Keep your communication devices on you, and make sure you save your son no matter what.”
Both Donald and Ozacas wanted to complain, they wanted to go with Edvard, how could he go up against Lupus on his own, but he said final words that made it definitive.
“That’s an order.” With those words Edvard broke off from the others and ran off.
