My Werewolf System - Chapter 1467: Allies in the Moonlight

Chapter 1467: Allies in the Moonlight
Gary kept swinging, the rhythm of battle pounding in his veins. More Werewolves rushed him, but he shifted his approach, no longer relying on the hammer’s flashy skills. Instead, he focused on precision, aiming to strike the same spot twice.
Even when reinforced by Ylva’s special, unnaturally strong nails, no Werewolf could withstand that kind of targeted force for long. One of the hammer’s greatest advantages was its hidden marking effect, an invisible brand left on the spot where Gary had struck before. His enemies couldn’t see it, couldn’t brace themselves, and had no idea a devastating follow-up blow was coming.
He pivoted sharply, swinging the hammer sideways into a Werewolf’s ribs, the exact place he’d hit earlier. The weapon lit up with a surge of power, and the sickening crunch of breaking bone rang out. The massive beast’s body was lifted clean off its feet, hurled into the distance like a rag doll.
Gary’s eyes flicked up toward the restaurant. Mounted on the outside wall was a clock, something they had deliberately placed there for a reason. Every glance at it was a reminder of how much longer they had to hold out.
Two and a half hours until the full moon… he thought, his chest rising and falling as he took in the wider battlefield. Everyone’s fought so hard. We can do this… we really can do this.
His gaze shifted to Adam Law, who stood like an unmovable pillar amid the chaos. Without even transforming, Adam was holding his ground against Ylva and cutting down any Werewolves that came within reach. Gary knew without a shred of doubt, he couldn’t beat Adam in his human state, let alone his transformed one. That alone spoke volumes about the man’s strength.
If things keep going like this… and with all the help we’ve got now… maybe we won’t even need to last the full two and a half hours.
The strongest fighters in the White Rose were here, actively fighting on their side. Whoever had called them, whoever had convinced them to come, it had turned the tide.
Gary didn’t know the full extent of the allies now fighting alongside the Howlers, but deep down, only one name came to mind. Only one person could persuade others to stand with them when every reason pointed against it.
You’re always helping the Howlers in one way or another, Gary thought with a faint smile. I hope the full moon is treating you well.
Meanwhile, Ylva was in a bind. She had ordered other Werewolves to target Adam, but in truth, she was simply buying herself breathing room. Every movement she made now was about avoiding his attacks, creating just enough distance to keep herself out of danger.
Quickly, she drove her sharpened nails into two nearby Werewolves. Their bodies swelled grotesquely, muscle mass expanding until each of them was fifty percent larger than before. With a snarl, the two titan-sized beasts lunged forward at Adam, their claws ripping through the ground beneath them.
But Ylva knew the truth. They might slow him down. They might even land a hit or two. But in the end, they would fall, just like the rest. All she was buying was time.
I’m starting to wonder… even with all of this going on, if Lupus turned into his true Alpha form, he should still be able to overpower this White Rose thug. So what’s holding him up? Ylva’s thoughts churned with unease. Is there someone strong enough to keep him at bay right now? And if there is… could Lupus really take on two of them at once?
What she didn’t realize was that Lupus and she wouldn’t be facing two. They’d be facing much more. In the chaos of this battle, three figures stood out as the most dangerous left on the field, Kai in his current True Alpha form, Adam Law, and Don Tinge. Each one alone was enough to tip the balance. Together, they could push Lupus to his limits and beyond.
If Ylva knew the truth, she might have already ordered a retreat. But her focus was locked on the here and now, and right now, only Adam Law was in her immediate path.
How did it come to this? she raged internally. Our pack has been building its strength for years. We’ve grown in size, trained relentlessly, and we have the full backing of the Dark Guild’s equipment. And yet… I’m actually worried about what’s going to happen to us tonight? That doesn’t make sense. It’s impossible!
But the truth began to gnaw at her. No… it’s not the Howlers’ pack itself that’s stronger than us. It was never the pack.
The realization hit her harder than any physical blow. The reason they were struggling wasn’t just because of Gary or his Werewolves, it was because of the sheer number of allies who had come to stand with them. Every corner of the battlefield was filled with fighters who weren’t Howlers by name but fought as fiercely as if they were.
The Lupus group had always done everything alone, seeking to prove themselves through strength and independence. Gary had never done that, not once. He hadn’t tried to fight the world by himself. Instead, he had built bonds. And tonight, those bonds were tearing Lupus’s plans apart.
We have to live to fight another day… we have to… we have to…
But the words caught in Ylva’s throat. Wasn’t this the perfect chance? The night of a full moon, the Howlers within reach, their strongest members exposed in one place, if they didn’t crush them now, when would they?
Before she could decide, a sudden thud echoed behind her. A heavy weight pressed into the ground, making the earth tremble. Ylva’s head snapped around, eyes narrowing, only to see a massive Werewolf, its fur seeming to glow under the silver light of the moon.
“You’re not getting away!” Marie’s voice rang out, fierce and unyielding, as yet more support arrived on the battlefield.
