My Werewolf System - Chapter 1470: A Bad Vision

Chapter 1470: A Bad Vision
Crashing down into the center of the battlefield, the impact tore through the chaos like a thunderclap. The ground itself shuddered, and the clash of powers already raging came to a sudden halt. A wave of immense energy spread outward, raw and suffocating, wrapping around every single person present. Even those who had fallen under the influence of Ylva’s Wolf Song felt the shift.
Their wills, bent toward her command only moments before, trembled as something greater made itself known, because now, the Alpha had arrived.
But that wasn’t all. The presence of the one Lupus was currently facing pushed their instincts to their absolute limit. Irritation and fury coursed through them, heightening to the point where nearly every werewolf on the field wanted to abandon whatever they were doing and rush toward the massive wolf that had revealed itself. The urge to attack, to tear, to challenge, it was overwhelming.
In the middle of the battlefield, the two titans locked eyes. For a brief moment, the world seemed to narrow to just them, two predators whose dominance clashed without a single blow.
Then Kai’s massive wolf form moved first. His powerful legs launched him forward, his body a blur of speed. He leapt with terrifying force, maw snapping open, aiming to slash Lupus across the side with a devastating bite.
But Lupus was ready. His claws rose like blades, colliding with Kai’s strike in a sound like steel against steel. Sparks of energy crackled as teeth met claw, the impact stopping Kai’s attack cold. Lupus snarled, shoving upward with a surge of strength, and Kai was flung back into the air before twisting his body to land gracefully on all fours.
Lupus wasted no time. Swinging his claws through the air, waves of destructive energy ripped outward, tearing across the battlefield. Kai dodged left, then right, his massive form moving with surprising agility, but the force of each strike gouged the earth where he had been standing moments before. As the claws raked across the ground, they left behind jagged streaks of ice, spreading rapidly over the field.
One unfortunate Lupus werewolf, unable to escape in time, was caught by the attack. The frost consumed him in an instant, his entire body frozen solid, trapped in unbreakable ice. Lupus’s gaze flickered toward the sight for only a second, but his body didn’t slow. He kicked off the ground, launching forward once more, and his claws slammed into Kai’s.
The two beasts clashed again, their massive bodies scraping past each other before breaking apart, skidding across the battlefield in opposite directions. Energy pulsed out with every strike, blasting through the field and leaving destruction in its wake.
Kai’s fur began to change. Along his back, strands hardened, the tips freezing over until they gleamed like blades of ice. Then, with a sharp shiver, they shot outward, scattering into the air as deadly shards. Ice rained down like a storm of frozen bristles.
Lupus responded instantly, spinning his body in a violent whirl. His claws lashed out in rapid succession, shattering the shards before they could pierce him. The moment he finished, though, Kai was already on him again, charging forward with relentless speed.
“You’re damn persistent, you know that!” Lupus shouted, his voice booming across the field.
How long had they been fighting like this? Constantly clashing, constantly testing each other’s limits, each blow answered with another, each skill countered with greater force. Lupus, strengthened by the mythical Yeti he had consumed, was a monster of stamina and resilience. His body healed as fast as Kai could wound it, his recovery and strength almost endless.
At first, several of Kai’s attacks had slipped through, striking true, but Lupus was adapting. With each exchange, he was learning, refining his timing, pushing Kai back with greater precision. Even so, not all of Kai’s attacks could be blocked, and Lupus was forced to endure more than he would have liked.
Each collision sent another shockwave tearing outward, immense power mixed with elemental fury. The grass within a hundred-meter radius had already frozen solid, the battlefield transformed into a wasteland of ice, and the frost continued to spread further with every strike.
It was because of this overwhelming clash that Adam Law, who had been watching from the sidelines, chose not to intervene. Something about the wolf in front of him gave him pause. Although this massive wolf was fighting against their enemy, the wildness in his eyes was unmistakable. Adam had seen that same look too many times before, the same untamed madness carried by the Crazed Altered.
Gary, standing among the others, watched in awe. His eyes widened the moment he truly recognized the massive wolf before him. It was Kai, but not like he had ever seen him.
“So this is what’s been happening all along,” Gary muttered. “Marie is in her Luna form… and Kai, he’s in his true Alpha form. That’s how he’s been able to fight Lupus head-to-head this entire time. He’s strong… maybe even just as strong as Lupus himself. And as for Lupus…”
Gary’s gaze sharpened as he studied the battlefield. Lupus’s claws glistened with icy energy, spreading frost with every swing. It was just like Gary’s own ability to conjure flames. It confirmed what had already been suspected, Lupus had consumed Ice himself.
The realization only deepened Gary’s unease. Watching closely, he understood why Lupus was struggling. It wasn’t because he was weaker than Kai. No, in nearly every aspect, Lupus was stronger, even against Kai’s true Alpha form. But Kai’s sheer speed was what made him dangerous. Speed that tore through defenses, speed that even Lupus couldn’t fully keep up with.
Gary knew in his heart: that kind of speed would give anyone trouble.
Marie, standing at the edge of the battlefield, kept her eyes locked on the fight. Ylva stood nearby, and Marie knew she couldn’t allow her to reach Lupus no matter what. But then, all at once, an image appeared in Marie’s mind, a vision of the future.
Her heart sank. The image was unbearable, a possibility she couldn’t allow to become reality.
“No… no, no!” Marie gasped, clutching her chest. “I have to stop it.”
